The Ranger's daughter - Part 4 - Aragorn x Reader
Aragorn had been happy to see that Frodo was up and about. The Ranger, after he and (Y/n) had spent time with Elrohir and Elladan, and then Arwen and Lord Elrond, had deciding that new morning was as good a time as any for him to introduce the hobbits to his daughter. The four of them happy to follow the Ranger's daughter into one of main gardens of Imladris.
"They have fallen under her spell, as all others do..........." Aragorn not having to turn to know that Lord Elrond had join him on the balcony, overlooking the spot where (Y/n) and the halflings sat talking as if they had known one another all their lives.
"It would appear so, my lord.............."
"You are troubled, Estel.........I sensed it from the moment that you arrived, and it has nothing to do with your journey here........" Elrond continued, as he moved to the Dúnedain's side. The heir of Isildur sighing before turning his attention from his daughter.
"I just worry for her. When I found her, she was so small, and I suppose I still sometimes see her as that little elfling; that babe in my arms that I fell in love with. Every time I return, I realise how much I have missed of her life; I see how much she has grown, how she has become a woman, and I lament all those lost years. I feel guilty for not being able to be the father I feel I should have been. And.......and at the training area yesterday.........(Y/n) spoke to me of visions, dreams that she had had before we arrived. Dreams of the inn in Bree and the hobbits.....of the dark creatures that hunt them. She knows that Frodo carries the One Ring, and she said that both of our fates are intertwined with it............."
"I did tell you that her gift was growing day by day. She has seen, known many things since you have been gone. And given what I have noted, I have no doubt that she is right; that the Ring is here for a reason, and that both of your fates are linked to it. I feel that the time has finally come that (Y/n) will join you when you leave again; and despite the fact that she will know you are trying to protect her, you will not be able to dissuade her. She is your daughter in so many ways, Estel. Strong, brave, devoted to all those she loves.......and perhaps a little stubborn, too. And she has this wonderous ability to command the loyalty of others, without even trying. You have given her the best life you could. You made sure that she was with people that would love her; you found her a place that was safe. Yes, I know that she has missed you over the years, that she has wished she could see you more; but I also know that not for one moment would she want you to stop being who you wished to be. She is proud that you are a Ranger, that you help protect not just her, but so many others. But perhaps now is finally the time for you to accept who you really are, and when you do, I know that (Y/n) will still love you. So, whatever is to come......whatever is agreed at the Council on the morrow, I know that you will be stronger with her by your side.........." The peredhel replied, before placing his hand on the Ranger's shoulder.
"But those are concerns for tomorrow.......For now, go and be with your daughter on her birthday. She has been waiting a long time for this day......." Elrond continued. Aragorn nodding before making his way towards the gardens.

"I hope I am not interrupting........" A voice came; (Y/n) jumping to her feet as she turned to see her father leant up against one of the ancient trees. The pair embracing as the hobbits watched on.
"Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin were just telling me about the Shire, Ada. It sounds quite beautiful; I would so like to see it one day. And they told me about all the things they have for second breakfast and elevenses and luncheon, as well as about the ale they serve at the Green Dragon. Pippin even offered to buy me tankard if ever I get there.........."
"Oh, he did, did he..........?" Aragorn countered, looking down at a slightly red-faced Pippin.
"I have asked them to come to the celebrations for my birthday, this evening. Do you think that Ada Elrond will mind.......?" She continued, drawing back her father's gaze from the slightly embarrassed hobbit.
"I doubt it. He has never been able to say no to you. And I am sure that Lindir and Arwen will have already made sure that there is more than enough food to feed four extra mouths; even if those extra mouths come with hobbit appetites....." The Ranger replied, as he combed his fingers through her hair. The sound of a horn causing everyone to look up.
"But for now, perhaps we should go and see who the new visitor is. I am hoping that it is my friend Legolas, the Prince of Mirkwood that I have spoken to you about on my last visits. He has said on more than one occasion that he would very much like to meet you." Aragorn continued, smiling as (Y/n) nodded, before taking the arm that her father offered. The two making their way from the garden, quickly followed by four curious hobbits.
