Prophecies - Part 10 - Gandalf x Thorin x Reader

For Pasta-07

(Y/n) stared at what was left of the home that had once stood amongst the grass and rocks, as she and the rest of the Company rode their horses up to it; Thorin having called out that they would camp there for the night, as she and Gandalf dismounted their steeds. The seer and the wizard making their way into what (Y/n) believed must have once been quite a pleasant little home.

"A farmer and his family used to live here............" Gandalf said, making (Y/n) recall one of her prophecies.

"Gandalf..........we have to leave here. This is the place I saw in my vision. The three large creatures........we cannot stay. Something will befall the Company if we do not move on........." The seer said urgently, as she caught the wizard's sleeve; Gandalf looking over to where Thorin was barking out his orders to the others.

"I think it would be wiser to move on........" Gandalf called out, as he turned from (Y/n) to look at the leader of the Company.

"We could make for the Hidden Valley........."

"I've told you already, I will not go near that place......." Thorin interrupted, as he came into tumbled down farmhouse. The prince eyeing (Y/n) suspiciously.

"Why not, the elves could help us. We could get food, rest, advice......."

"I do not need their advice........."

"You have a map that none of you can read. Yet there is one that resides in the Valley, one that could help........"

"Help?" Thorin interrupted the seer. It obvious that he was not happy about her speaking on the matter.

"A dragon attacks Erebor, what help came from the elves? Orcs plunder Moria, desecrate our sacred halls, the elves looked on and did nothing. You ask me to seek out the very people who betrayed my grandfather.......who betrayed my father........"

"You are neither of them. I did not give you that map and key, for you to hold onto the past........."

"I did not know that they were yours to keep...." The prince retorted, as he turned his attention to Gandalf.

"Was this your plan all along.........? You and this......witch you forced upon me. A woman that you tell us is of men, yet has an ability that only the elves can lay claim to. Is she in truth a spy in our midst, an elven spy that reports to her master on what we do; what our goal is........? A woman sent to charm us so that we will do as you wish......?" Thorin interrupted angrily, as he looked between the woman and wizard.

"Well, she will not charm me, and we will not go to the Hidden Valley; nor will I look to our enemies for help. I have already said that we will camp here, and that is my final word." The prince continued, as he set his eyes firmly on (Y/n).

"But you.........you can go. I care not what the wizard says, I care nothing for your......prophecies. You are a curse, and I do not want to have to look at you any longer. Leave.........go back to your true master in the Valley; for your pledge to me, means nothing............" Thorin growled. Gandalf about to say something, but before he could, (Y/n) found herself running, ignoring the calls of her name, as she left behind the Company; not knowing where she was going, only knowing that she had to get away. Her feet carrying her back along the trail that they had been following; back into the wilderness. Back until she could now longer see where she had left the others. The young woman finally dropping to her knees, only now realising that she was crying. The tears making their way down her cheeks in steady streams.

She had no idea why Thorin's words had hurt so much. Why the venom that had spilled from the dwarven princes' lips had cut her to the quick; but it had. Her eyes turning to the sky, as she begged whoever may be listening, for guidance; for a vision that would tell her what she should do. (Y/n) dropping from her knees to her backside, a part of her wishing that the soft grass beneath her would just swallow her up. Wishing that maybe, if she closed her eyes and then opened them again, she would find that all this had been some kind of strange dream, and she was in truth, still in the temple. But she didn't want it to be a dream, as much as Thorin's dislike of her, hurt; having met Bilbo......and the others; having been able to see the world that lay beyond all that she had known, made up for the dwarf calling her a witch; calling her a spy. And even though she knew that the one who would be king had told her that he didn't want to see her again, she would not, could not abandon the pledge that she had made to him. That she could not let what she had seen on the hill of ravens, come to pass. That, and there was Bilbo to consider, she had to protect him too. She had to keep him from the grief that she had felt, when they had looked upon the bodies of the fallen Durin. The seer already having decided that if it took surrendering her life to keep the princes alive, then that was what she would do; (Y/n) aware that they were far more important, than she would ever be. So, Thorin would just have to learn to not look at her, as she was going back. Back to watch over the Company, no matter what he might want. The seer slowly pulling herself from the ground and wiping the tears away with her sleeve, before she moved to start her way back along the trail. Yet before she could take a step, she was stopped. Stopped by a vision that was similar to the one that she had had some time ago; of the three large creatures and the dwarves in sacks. Yet this time.......this time there was no little hobbit there to stall for time. This time, all she could see were the charred bodies of some of the Company, as the great ugly beings, began to feast on them. The others, shouting, fighting to escape their inevitable doom. (Y/n) feeling the vomitus rise into her mouth when she looked around and saw what was left of her dear Bilbo. A scream escaping her lips, before the mist left her eyes, shocked to see that the sky was now black; that the vision had held her for some time. The seer knowing that the only thing that she could do now, was run, run back to her companions, and pray that she was not too late.
