Kin - Part 2 - Bilbo x Reader
Legolas and (Y/n) stopped, as they came to the balcony. The princess' eyes falling on the back of a pale haired little being, that sat on a small bench looking out over one of the waterfalls. The Mirkwood prince patting her hand reassuringly.
"I will leave you two to talk. Come find me when you are done, my dear one........" Legolas told her, before kissing her on the forehead and taking his leave. (Y/n) slowly making her way over to the tiny creature.
"Uncle.......uncle Bilbo.........?" The princess said, as she stepped closer. The hobbit slowly turning and looking at her.
"(Y/n).......? Is that our little (Y/n)..........?" Bilbo asked, holding out his hand. (Y/n) quickly making her way to his side and taking his hand, before joining him on the bench.
She had never seen her uncle Bilbo, look so old before. She knew aged differently to dwarves, and that it had been his birthday not long before; her mother and father sending the hobbit all manner of messages and gifts for his big day, apologizing for not being able to attend his party. But still, the sight of him with pale hair and wrinkled skin, made her heart ache. Yet she would not dwell on the sad thoughts that plagued her mind; she was with her uncle Bilbo, and that was all that mattered.
"It is, Uncle Bilbo." (Y/n) replied, her grip on his hand tightening, as she leant in and placed a kiss to his cheek.
"What are you doing here, my little princess? My, haven't you grown since last I saw you. And I swear that you have to be the most beautiful creature I have ever lain my eyes on. So much like your mother and father. And speaking of those two, how are they.......?" Bilbo asked. (Y/n) finding herself smiling at the little man. His jumble of questions and remarks, bringing a smile to her lips.
"I am here for Lord Elrond's council meeting, Bilbo. I came with uncle Glóin and his son, Gimli. And I am not so little anymore, I am fifty-five now, you know; though father and all the others seem to think that I am still a little girl. Mother and father are fine, as in love as they always were, though they still do enjoy a good disagreement. But I am sure that they only argue so that they can kiss and make up, after. We have all made our way into the royal chambers, at one time or another, to find them both canoodling in one of the big armchairs......" (Y/n) chuckled, Bilbo joining along with her. He himself able to recall doing the same thing while he had still been in Erebor; having to back out of the room when he had walked in and found the pair in one another's arms. The laughter slowly dying down, as the hobbit seemed to drift off into a thought of his own.
"You will be careful, won't you........? You will look after him.........?"
"Uncle Bilbo, what..........?"
"Its my ring, you see. Yes, yes, my ring............" The old hobbit interrupted, as he pushed his fingers into his waistcoat pocket.
"It was here a moment ago......I am sure of it........."
"Bilbo? I don't..........." (Y/n) continued, not sure what the little hobbit was talking about. Her eyes widening, as Bilbo turned to her, grabbing both of her hands, and holding them tight.
"The ring I found when your father and the others fell into the realm of the Goblin king; Frodo, has it. Yes......Frodo has it. And he will need your help, (Y/n). It is much to ask from one so young, I know; you are over twenty years younger than Kili was when we went to reclaim the Mountain, yet I know that when the time comes, and no matter what others might say, you will want to help him, yes, yes; just like your mother helped Thorin, like she helped me. Even though it went against the wishes of her father............stubborn thing she was, as stubborn as Thorin; made them quite a force to be reckoned with. Yes, quite the force to be reckoned with..........." Bilbo told her, before he drifted off, leaving (Y/n) completely confused, having no idea what he was talking about, nor had she been informed that Frodo was also in the elven realm.
"Uncle Bilbo........you must tell me.........."
"Promise me that you will look after him, (Y/n). I know your mother and father may not be happy about it; but Frodo will need your friendship, your support, just as I needed your mother and father's. When the time comes, tell me that you will be by his side, that you will follow your kin and find your destiny.........." Bilbo interrupted. His gaze once again sharp, pleading. The princess still not sure what the old hobbit was talking about; but how could she refuse him. How could she not protect Frodo, as Bilbo had protected her father. (Y/n) feeling that Frodo was as much her kin, as any other that she held close to her heart. So.............
"Of course I will. I swear that whatever Frodo needs, wherever he goes, I will be with him." The hobbit seeming to breathe a sigh of relief, before a smile crept onto his lips.
"Good. Now, tell me all about Erebor and what has been happening since last I received a letter from your parents..........."
>>------------------------------------<<
(Y/n) made her way back through the long halls of Imladris. She had noticed that Bilbo had been growing tired as she has told him about home and everything that her dwarven kin had been up to; so, she had left him, with a kiss to the cheek, as his eyes turned back to look out over the waterfall. Her mind was racing from what the hobbit had said earlier about a ring, Frodo, and her swearing to look after him, and her destiny. The princess sure that she would have to find Legolas and then Frodo; she would have to get some of the many questions that were filling her mind, answered. So caught up in her thoughts was she, that she was utterly surprised to find herself on the floor, as she bumped into something solid. Her brows furrowing, as a large hand suddenly appeared before her face.
"My apologies my lady. Please, let me help you............."
