(Aian's pov)

"My name is Aian and I am here because Gandalf invited me on a journey. If you don't want me here I will turn right around and leave!"

I was normally very calm and not that fiery but I hate when people glare when you haven't even introduced yourself. And at this moment I decided I don't like the dark haired dwarf with a royal bearing. He was very rude!

The dwarves looked surprised at my outburst but the one that spoke at first spoke again.

"Well, miss Aian this journey is not for women. I will not bring a burden along with me to the Wild."

He spoke in a cool and superior tone that made me want to punch him in his haughty face! I took several deep breathes and counted to ten before I turned to face him again.

"Master Dwarf I'll have you know that just because I am a women does not mean I'm helpless. I can fight with a sword and an axe if nessecary. I also use a bow. I will not be a burden to you on your journey. I might even be able to help you."

The dwarves looked surprised.

'That's what you get if you make me angry.' I thought.

Gandalf spoke up.

"Aian is a skilled fighter and she will not be a burden to you on your journey. And if I say that she can go on this journey and be able to help in some ways then she will be able to go on this journey and help you. So she is going. That is final!"

Bilbo spoke up at the doorway to a kitchen.

"What journey?"

A old dwarf with white hair stood up.

"We, lad are going to reclaim Erebor."

Cheers came from the dwarves as though they already finished their quest and reclaimed Erebor.

"But," the white haired dwarf said, stopping the cheers, "a dragon guards Erebor. Smaug. We have set out to reclaim our homeland and defeat the dragon. That, my lad, is our quest."

"Which is why we need a burglar." Gandalf said with a pointed look at Bilbo.

"And are you?" Asked another dwarf.

"Am I what?" Bilbo said confused.

"He said he's an expert!" Cried out a dwarf with a axe embedded in his head.

Everyone started cheering or yelling that he was or was not a expert burglar.

"Silence!" The first dwarf yelled. "We have not decided what to do with you. And if you can come."

He pointed at me and I felt angry. Very, very angry.

"You have not and will not decide what to do with me! Gandalf invited me and I accepted. I am going with you."

The dwarf glared at me while the rest of the company looked surprised or angry. I didn't care. No one decided what to do with me. If I say I'm going then I'm going!

"Give her and the hobbit the contracts." The dwarf very nearly growled.

The white haired dwarf took something out and handed me and Bilbo the contracts and a quill to sign our signatures.

"Sign here for funeral expenses and what not." He told me.

I thanked him and took the quill offered and signed where he told me to.

"You didn't read-" I cut him off.

"I know that there are dangers and risks but I knew that when Gandalf told me about the adventure. I know the risks. If I was scared of dying I wouldn't be here. "

I handed him he paper and listened as Bilbo read off the list on the contract.

"Incineration?"

"Aye," said a dwarf with a weird hat, "he'll burn off the very flesh on your bones."

Bilbo turned pale and started to breathe heavily.

"Think furnace with wings," the dwarf continued, "a flash of light and pain and your nothing more than a pile of ash.

"Bilbo, are you okay?" I asked.

He calmed down and turned to me.

"Nope." He said and fell to the ground in a dead faint.

I sighed and picked him up to carry him to the living room. I paused at the door and turned to the dwarf with the weird hat.

"Very helpful." He had the good grace to look ashamed.

A couple minutes later Bilbo awoke and he was sipping a cup of tea I made him.

"Give me a couple minutes." He said.

I opened my mouth to say that he had been sitting there for at least ten minutes but Gandalf beat me to it.

"Bilbo Baggins, you have been sitting there for at least ten minutes. Get up, you are going on this quest and need to know what it's about."

"But I'm not Gandalf. I am a Baggins, not a Took. I can't run away on some foolish adventure. I'msorry Gandalf but I can't sign it."

"Bilbo-" I protested.

"No. I'm sorry Aian but I can't. I just can't."

"But-"

"No Aian.""Alright. Goodbye Bilbo."

I whispered as I exited the room.I went to the room next to the living room that Gandalf told me I can use. The dwarves were in the room next to mine and they were singing. I fell asleep with the toon that they were singing in my head, dreaming of the adventure tomorrow.

Far over the Misty Mountains cold

To dungeons deep and caverns old

We must away, ere break of day,

To find our long forgotten gold.

The pines were roaring on the height,

The winds were moaning in the night.

The fire was red, it flaming spread;

The trees like torches blazed with light.

The wind was on the withered heath,

But in the forest stirred no leaf:

There shadows lay be night or day,

And dark things silent crept beneath.

The wind went on from West to East;

All movement in the forest ceased,

But shrill and harsh across the marsh

Its whistling voices were released.

Farewell we call to hearth and hall!

Though wind may blow and rain may fall,

We must await ere break of day

I opened my eyes as sunlight flittered into the room. I heard low voices speaking in the other room and I stood up to change and join them.

I dressed into a long brown shirt with a dark green hood and brown pants. My boots were worn and teared from use and my dark brown hair was swept away from my face and braided down my back. I pulled on my leather gloves and went to join the rest of the Company in the living room.

"Good morning!" I said cheerfully.

Conversations stopped as I came in, then, all at once, the dwarves started bidding me a good morning. Gandalf walked forward and said,

"I don't think we were proparlly introduced last night. Aian, this is Thorin Oakenshied. The leader of our Company."

Thorin was the first dwarf that spoke to me last night. The one I hated.

"Well, Thorin son of Thrain, son of Thror, King under the Mountain. I have not proparlly introduced myself. I am Aian, daughter of Hunjur. I come from the Iron Hills."

"Well, daughter of Hunjur, don't be a burden to me on my journey."

I felt rage bubbling in me but before I could say a word, Gandalf spoke up.

"Now, let's not start fighting. As I was saying, this is Balin, Dwalin, Bofur, Bombur, Bifur, Gloin, Oin, Dori, Nori, Ori, Fili, and Kili."

I nodded politely and Balin smiled at me. I was really starting to like him. He was nice and kind. The others seemed okay also. It was only Thorin I didn't like.

"Alright now that we all now each other, it's time to get going. Aian, you have a horse right? Talian?"

"Aye, I brought Talian Gandalf."

"Good, now lets go. To Erebor!"

Everyone cheered and I cheered with them. Let the adventure begins!

Well? Good or bad? Any feed back is appreciated!
