3Gun put CG in the hotel for safe keeping; they would be leaving for county at sunup. He figured they'd spend one night on the trail then get to County before noon the next day. He also had to keep Loopy Lou from pestering CG for a story.

CG got all excited when they were having dinner. She tried to convince 3Gun that the warrant was a fake and that Lou had been set up. She told him it must have been her cousin and that he wouldn't stop at anything to get her. The town itself could be in danger.

3Gun tried to calm her down and told her that until they could prove it was fake, he had to honour it and take her to the County seat. He promised he would stay with her and would see that she didn't go to any jail. Morning arrived and #Gun left with CG, and Margarita in the back of the prison wagon.

It seemed the new guy, Buck Buchanan, was entranced with Lou and asked around a bit, wondering how he might see her again. When he did he thought he walked into a buzz saw. She insulted him, yelled at him and he couldn't figure it out. What he did know was that she just made him more determined.

The other drama taking place was Loren waking up with total amnesia. AJ was thrilled and kissed her, setting off a series of anger, crying, shouting and causing distress for everyone. Nobody could convince her about the truth but strangely when she learned she was in BG, she wanted to see 3Gun.

Of course that couldn't happen so she demanded to go home and made things generally miserable for all. Arrangements were made to keep her in the hotel, send a wire to Lorne and just wait until he arrived.

Another mystery raised its head when it seemed that Alister and Stray dog were following old maps around the country looking at old mines. Alister didn't have much faith in Stray Dog's opinions but, along with another man, Dusty Doug, they continued to follow him . . . until they were stopped by a large herd of sheep.

3Gun had stopped the wagon in a sheltered spot to camp for the night and set up a fire and started dinner. Before he could react, three men rode in and covered him with rifles. CG managed to whisper that it was her cousin and in an instant they had her tied and on the back of CrazyMoose, who had been tied to the prison wagon, warning 3Gun that if he tried anything they would both be dead.

Margarita began calling for them to take her too but they rode off leaving 3Gun frustrated. He couldn't chase after them and leave his prisoner stranded. He kicked out the fire, jumped in the wagon and rode hard to County.
