Corunn

The Children of Corunn, also known as the Republic of Corunn, most popularly the Nation of the  Corunnen, or, colloquially, Corn, is the second oldest nation on Androsat 3. It was founded as "New Eden" by settlers from Bilgetough in 524 in the mountainous northern region of the West Continent of Androsat 3, just south of Bilgetough. However, the wolves the settlers brought with them in hopes of giving them freedom soon overran the settlement, driving the humans south where they soon created the nation that later became Obconystan. In the year 1310, Obconystan sent an expedition back into the mountains to determine whether the wolves were still present. They were, however, instead of driving the humans off again, they made attempts to (and succeeded) communicate. At this point the Republic of Corunn was officially recognised, despite having existed since 537. However, the Republic of Corunn was so loosely organised that, besides the fact that it was known to exist since 537, there is no other written history of it prior to 1310 to speak of. However, due to the rather isolationist nature of the nation and lack of connection between wolf packs usually numbering no more than seven, there has not been much history of it anyway. However, during the First World War of Androsat 3, the military junta in control of Obconystan at the time began referring to Corunnen as "the Obconii Autonomous Region of Corn," which began the first and only point in time in which the Republic of Corunnen functioned as anything but an anarchic state (this is also the first documented use of the term "Corn" to define Corunn or Corunnen people, who widely find the term offensive).

As stated above, Corunnen functions as an anarchic state most of the time, however there is a government in place, which only convenes for emergencies. Each pack naturally includes a rank system, with Alpha and Omega. Once a week, all the Omegas convene in the "city" of Central Corunn (which consists of a clearing at the base of the tallest mountain in Corunn demarcated by a large stone painted with yellow), where a messenger from Obconystan will bring the week's news. If the news is serious, the Omegas return to their packs, deliver the news, and send a delegation to the city of Slendretown, which is a village of houses built as a gift from Obconystan in 1327, which will determine how to proceed. The size of the delegation depends on the size of the pack, with one delegate to represent every five wolves, rounded to the nearest five, with no more than five delegates from one pack. This means that a "pack" of less than three wolves is not given representation, a pack of seven wolves receives one delegate, a pack of eight recieves two, and no pack is represented for more than 25 wolves. The full assembly is about 500 wolves strong.

Corunn has no economy nor infrastructure to speak of, save for Slendretown, and some ports Obconystan has built in strategically advantageous areas with permission from local packs. There has never been any border control since 1310, and visitors are very rare.
