Wels's POV:
I let out a sigh as I woke up the next morning. The others were all still fast asleep except for Joe, who was finally awake. The southerner rapidly blinked his eyes in a sour attempt to see clearly.
" ...W... oh...." Joe's voice was horse as he curled up in his bed. I walked up to his bed and sat down on the end of it. Joe looked at me groggily, " Ho....long was I...out for?" he whispered with a frown.
I put my hand on my chin. Joe and I sat there in silence as I yawned, " It's been a couple of hours Joe... You took in a lot of water it seems." I told him. Joe remained laying down, " Is Mr. Python and Tinfoil okay?" he questioned in another groan.
Joe breathed heavily as he blinked again, " They are both fine." I told him with a smile. I also told the hermit about how the others were, for the most part, okay. Joe tried to pick himself up, but his whole body shivered and shook as he fell back over.
" You, however, are not fine Joe... You may be awake now, but you are very clearly struggling to be healthy both mentally and physically." I told him with a lower of my shoulders. Joe nodded at me.
Joe's body twitched as he looked at me, " Maybe you should... go back to sleep? It must be....early in the... morning......" he frowned as I opened the communicator. I nodded at him. It was roughly four in the morning.
I quickly decided to go back to sleep and curl up underneath my blanket. I let out a low sigh and fell asleep in my bed.
((Timeskip brought to you by a mysterious man talking to a seal!Mighty)) Mighty is panicking))
I woke up again to find that only Grian, TFC, Joe, and myself were left in the room. According to the elder hermit, Impulse, Doc, and Python were upstairs and looking around the open sea. It turns out that they were fishing.
TFC yawned as he held his head in pain, " I hate the ocean..." he grumbled as he took his glasses fully off in order to rub his face better. I stretched out and popped my back, " Feeling a bit sea sick Tin?" I questioned as he nodded.
" I've been on a boata couple of times... I still don't like them. The salty sea air burns my nostrils and eye sockets." TFC mumbled as he laid down on his bed after putting his glasses into his inventory. I watched as TFC dug his face into the pillow, " Wake me up when we reach land." he grumbled.
This left only me and Grian awake. Well, Grian was waking up as of right now. Grian slowly sat up in his bed and yawned, " Hey Wels." he greeted as he looked down at his bandaged arm. I nodded at him and sat up in bed.
" You look better." I told him as he nodded. Grian looked at his arm that sat in the sling, " Yep... My arm is still sore.... I can't really move it." he told me as he put his glasses onto the bridge of his nose.
I looked over at Joe as he remained fast asleep. Joe rolled onto his side and breathed carefully as he twitched slightly. Grian frowned at him, " Is Joe going to be alright?" he questioned as I nodded. I stood up and stabilized myself after the boat rocked slightly under my footing.
Grian let out a sigh, " How do we get home?" he questioned as he looked up at me. I crossed my arms, " I honestly don't know Grian... We just have to hope that Iskall, Void, Mumbo, and X can get us home if all else fails." I bluntly told him.
The two of us were silent for a little while. The only sound to accompany us was Joe and TFC's soft snores. I gave him a sad look as I turned and went up the stairs. Grian curled up on his cot and fell back to sleep.
When I got up to the deck, I found Doc and the others on the deck. Impulse was talking with his counterpart about something that I didn't know. Doc and Python were talking to each other. Python was chewing on the corpse of a frozen mouse. Normally I would grimace at that, but Python is a snake that needs to eat, no matter how disgusting.
Doc motioned me over to join the two of them. The creeper hybrid leaned on the ship, " We'll be at the mainland soon." he told me with a toothy smile. I smiled back at him. The three of us decided to talk about Joe's condition, but the chat soon turned to us wondering about how we'd get home.
Captain Tango, fortunately, jumped into the conversation and told us that we'd be at the mainland at any moment. I let out a sigh of relief. I didn't want to hear about the worries of getting home, or how bad Joe's condition was.
I just wanted.... I honestly just wanted to go home and build. I just don't want to admit it...
