The Highest of Seas Part 1

Author's Note: Going to go ahead and do the next two installments of the Another Side universe (I mean, they happen at the same time). I'm still in the midst of writing the opening to No One to Protect You...

The good news is that Hardtopia is going well. I should have the new part of that pretty soon. I honestly just wish that the rain would stop. My head hurts.

 Grian's POV:

It's been two weeks since I've been freed from... from...

I still can't remember that thing's name. I know that Mighty said its name while we were stuck togther, but I just can't remember it.

I shouldn't dwell on it though. My leg was fine for the most part, but my hand and arm had to be forced back into its place by Mumbo. I stared at my leg as it was laid on top of a pillow.

" Are you doing better, Grian?" Doc questioned as he came into my room. I turned my head towards the creeper cyborg. Doc was there to help Mumbo get my arm and hand back into place, and he got me back to my base after I passed out from pain and exhaustion.

After letting out a sigh, I shook my head, " I'm sick of being stuck in my room Doc. How long do I have to be here again?" I questioned with a growl. Doc straightened up as his tail twitched, " Just two more weeks Grian. That.... thing zapped almost all of the strength out of you..." he sighed.

My good leg twitched, " I know Doc, but I'm so tired of laying in this bed every time I log back onto the server.... I want to build, destroy, and maybe work with the others on Sahara!" I whined as I stared at the hermit. Doc shook his head, " I know Grian, but you should just rest. Trust me on this... Overworking yourself will get you nowhere in life." he told me.

I walked as Doc came over and changed my bandages. He told me that TFC was calling him and some others to his underground base to help investigate the problem with portals.

" Mumbo and Iskall will be by in an hour to hang out with you. The storm fields are already up, so we don't have to worry 'bout it." Doc gave me a toothy smirk. I crossed my arm over the hurt one.

" How do you know it's going to be one of those 'magic storms'?" I questioned as Doc shrugged. The creeper put on some rain resistant clothing over his arm and eye, " TFC said that it was a fifty percent chance...." he told me as he slipped on his elytra. I watched as Doc put some games, food, and stuff animals by my bed to keep me company until the others arrived.

I watched as Doc waved me goodbye. He took off into the day and probably towards TFC's bunker.

Well, I was apart of the portal nonsense. Heck, I got sucked into one and hurt because of the counterparts in that world. Speaking of those counterparts, I haven't heard from my own in a couple of months. I hope that he and the others are alright over there.

I wanted to figure out what was going on over there, and this could be one of my few opportunities to do it. I opened my inventory and got out my rain guard stuff. I got up and looked down at my healed leg, " I just have a bad arm. I don't even get why they bedded me for this long." I shook my head as I put my glasses on.

Strapping on my elytra, I quickly left a note for the architechs:

" Hey! I'm getting some air. I'll be at TFC's bunker if you need me."

 The letter read.

I smiled as I left my base and looked out. The storm shield was at full power as the green glow covered my base. As long as you were inside the shield, you were safe from the power of the storm. I needed to be fast in order to beat the storm to TFC's base.

Leaving my base, I quickly flew through the sky towards the base. The rain was starting to come down as I rocketed through the sky. I kept flying through the air until I saw TFC's small shack above his bunker.

I landed quickly and put my elytra into my inventory. I snuck into the base and went down the stairs. The voices of Python and Joe in the room.

" Man, that storm is really picking up...." Python let out a sigh. Joe nodded at him, " Indeed it is..." he let out a sigh of his own. TFC came in with Impulse, Doc, and Wels behind him. Doc adjusted his water protection, " I'm happy that you provided us with a means of drying off." he thanked TFC with a nod.

TFC walked to the front of the gathering. He looked around at everyone and straightened his back to appear taller. I mean, the elder hermit was already tall, but I suppose he doesn't speak loudly until he is standing up straight.

" Hmm.... I must thank you boys for coming here before one of these storms... It should be gone in the hour, and I've figured out how to collect the magic behind it." TFC smirked as he turned around to type on the odd looking machine.

Python's tongue flickered, " It'sss alwaysss magic." he hissed as Wels patted his shoulder. The snake looked over at him, " I did it again, didn't I?" he sighed as Wels nodded, " You just can't shake away the snake sometimes." he shrugged.

" I would also like to add that this magic has fused itself with the natural science of this world... I managed to get three examples of said magic." TFC showed the group three vials. He put two of them into a small chest in the wall.

Doc's tail twitched, " If you were just going to show us that sample, then what's the point of calling us here? " he leaned against the wall. The others nodded at him with semi-annoyed looks.

Joe let out a yawn, " I would be entertained by why we were called out here at this hour." he looked at his communicator's watch as he scratched his stubble. TFC looked towards the shorter hermit, " I called you all here to hear your records on what happened to each of you. Maybe we can figure out how to get to those other universes."

Bingo. That will give me some answers.

I got down on all threes and snuck into the room when everyone's backs were turned. Everyone was talking about what happened in the worlds they were stuck in. Impulse stoke about how his group met people from our universe.

Woah.... Impulse and the others never talked about that! Why keep it secret? I narrowed my eyes and tilted my head. I looked towards the machine as it started to glow and spark. The sample from the storm started to change in color before the secondary machine in the corner started to turn on but no one noticed.

Okay Grian.... You have to warn them!

I leapt up from my hiding spot and pointed towards the machine.

" TINFOIL! T-TURN THE MACHINE OFF!" I yelped as I pointed towards the machine. Everyone looked between me and the machine, but I was too late with my warning.

The machine turned on and sucked us into it.
