Brass and Flute

Mitch's POV

"Go to imaginary parties
In our make believe Ferrari
Baby let's get fresh, it's like we just-"

Everything shuts off.

The Music, the microphones, the lights, everything.

Again?

I turn to Scott rolling my eyes, him seeing and rolling his eyes back.

This was the 4th time our act had been stopped this week for "security reasons".

This happened to Scott and I pretty often. A couple weeks ago, someone reported the club so the police had started to make rounds near here.

We slipped offstage and made our way to the emergency exit.

After successfully leaving the club, we hurried to a sidewalk so it would appear like we were just enjoying the fresh air.

Scott held out his hand, which I took.

"We really need to find a better place to perform."

"Agreed." He looked at me and smiled.

Scott and I have been friends since we first met at a theater group when we were 10.

We were doing the play Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. I personally never liked it because of how boring it was to do.

A play of monologues I called it.

Then again, so is every play nowadays.

We both ended up getting kicked out because we tried to turn it into a musical, thus solidifying our friendship.

We had lived near each other at the time so we could practice Music without being afraid of getting caught. We made each other better, until we actually felt confident enough with our voices that we actually started performing.

We had been writing and performing songs together for years, because of this, we had started to make a name for ourselves.

People asked us to perform at clubs, bars, and events, all of which were underground and trying to stay out of the eyes of the police.

We arrived at our apartment building a couple minutes later.

Scott went to his room to change.

I decided to do the same and went in my room. I looked through my closet until I found something comfortable to wear.

I hear Scott shout something from his room.

"What?" I shout back.

Scott walks into my room holding his phone.

"I think I found a new place to perform."

I sit down on my bed, motioning for him to sit too, "Great! Where is it?"

He sits down on the my bed next to me and looks back down to his phone. "It's not too far from here, only like twenty minutes away."

I look over Scott's shoulder to see his phone screen. "Huh, it looks really professional."

"It is! Todrick told me about it. I already got a spot for us set for next weekend."

"Sounds great!" I hear Scott's stomach rumble. "Someone's hungry," I laughed.

Scott laughed and got up from the bed. "I'll order something, you pick something for us to watch."

I go to the living room and turn on the TV, flipping though the channels to find Nickelodeon.

"Don't you dare chose Spongebob again!"

I laughed, "Too late!"

I'm back from the dead! Sorry for not updating in months. Hope you liked that chapter.
