Real quick AN. The gathering place is a huge crater and the bottom/center of it is a rock the leaders sit on. The medicine cats sit on one side of the rock and the deputies on the other side. The other cats sit on the sides of the center cause the inside edges of the crater are like steps they can sit on. OK onto the story

5 moons(months) later BreezeHeart/Penny's POV

My tail swished from side to side in annoyance. BadgerPaw was almost done with his apprenticeship and was only now going to his first gathering. RookStar had announced his apprenticeship a few gatherings ago but had never actually brought him to one. Despite this, BadgerPaw strutted happily between SunDew and I. Seeing him so excited helped lift my spirits a little.

"So, remember to be on your best behavior, alright?" I said to him as we came up on the gathering. We were the last ones to arrive on account of RookStar and I arguing about taking BadgerPaw to the gathering. "Yeah I remember. Finally, I can talk to the other clans!" He said excitedly as we joined the crowd.

As everyone took the seats, I spotted the apprentices gathered around something I couldn't see. Most likely a new apprentice. I told BadgerPaw to go over and introduce himself. He nodded and went over to the group.

BadgerPaw/Boe's POV

I strolled up to the other apprentices. They were gathered around someone I couldn't see.

"Why are you so tiny?"
"Where are your siblings?"
"Why is your fur so weird?"

I paused as I thought they were talking to me but realized they were talking to the one in the middle. I've heard the same questions from my own clanmates before and knew how it felt. I pushed my way through the group to find a small apprentice. She had black sleek fur except on her legs and tail which were really fluffy. There was a huge patch of her tail that was brown. The top of her muzzle was brown along with a spot on the right side of her chest, right ear, and left eye. On her right flank, there was two swirls. One was orange and the other was brown. She also seemed to have a permanent glare.

"Hi, I'm BadgerPaw. Who are you all?" I addressed the apprentices. "I'm SnakePaw." Said a tan tabby. "This is my sister, ToxicPaw." He gestured to a brown tabby who hissed at me. "I'm LeopardPaw."  Big apprentice with spots on her tail. "We all are from CloudClan." She said and I nodded at her.

"I'm BearPaw." A small white and brown apprentice with bear like ears and muzzle said and stuck his nose in the air. "I'm from WillowClan." I was immediately annoyed. "I'm PebblePaw." Said a grey apprentice. "I'm BearPaw's brother." The other few apprentices introduced themselves. All except the small one in the middle.

All the cats quieted down as the leaders started sharing their news. LostStar turned towards us apprentices and spoke. "We have a new medicine cat apprentice. TuftPaw, step forward." The little apprentice with the permanent glare stepped forward.

"She has been an apprentice for two moons. We only bring her now because of complications with her and her sister's birth. She survived while her sister, Flowerkit, died." Every cat hung their heads in condolences. TuftPaw squeezed her eyes closed as if to shut out bad memories. "We also have two new warriors. CrowClaw-" a big but lean cat with dark grey sleek fur, orange eyes, and a black fur marking from his jaw to the tip of his tail stood up, "And PoisonRoot." A tabby cat with cream fur and silver stripes stood up and everyone chanted their names.

"That is all for CloudClan. CowStar, would you like to go next." Everyone noticed how LostStar's voice softened when he spoke to CowStar. CowStar just rolled her eyes as she reported for StormClan. "Very well. We also have two new warriors. StormBerry-" a cat who looked like CrowClaw but with white and silver fur stood up, "and WillowFang." A cat with pale brown fur and tan legs stood up as their names were also chanted.

"That is all for StormClan. RookStar, it's your turn." I held my breath as RookStar got ready to speak. I wondered if she would say anything about finally bringing me to the gathering. "It seems this is the moon for new warriors as we also have new warriors. My kits, FernSpike, RushCloud, and BriarSky have also been made warriors." After their names were chanted, RookStar turned to LynxStar. "That's all for OrchidClan. You may go now, LynxStar." Before he could speak however, LostStar spoke up. "Hold on a second. Doesn't OrchidClan have a new apprentice?" He gestured to me.

"No, that is the apprentice I told about 5 moons ago. There has been complications in his training which is why he's only come now. I also don't see how that's any of your business, LostStar." RookStar hissed at him.

BearPaw turned to me. "So you're 5 moons into your apprenticeship and this is your first gathering? I thought you were just fat!" He laughed at me but was smacked on the back of his head by his brother, PebblePaw who also gave me an apologetic look.

"5 moons is a long time, RookStar. Seems more like you were trying to hide him." LostStar said with a nasty smirk. RookStar jumped to her paws and snarled at LostStar. "How is that any of your business, you old fox heart?" She hissed.

As the tension between the two grew, the cats from the clans separated a little but only looked annoyed or bothered by their leaders. I turned to the other apprentices. "Does this happen a lot with these two?" PebblePaw sighed. "If it's not these two, it's CowStar and LostStar." He muttered.

LynxStar cleared his throat. "If you two are done, I would like to start to get this gathering over with." He grumbled as LostStar and RookStar settled down. "WillowClan doesn't have much news except that that we have picked up the scent of a badger in our territory." As he gave the news RookStar stared hard at me and I glared back. "We don't know if it has a set nearby or if it was just passing through. Either way, I urge the other clans to keep an eye out. This meeting is over." LynxStar said with a sigh of relief and jumped off the rock as his clan quickly flooded to his side.

"Why did RookStar look at you like you ate the last bit of her favorite prey?" ToxicPaw asked me. "It's not important. But what's with the way WillowClan all gather together like that?" I said as even the WillowClan apprentices went to their clan.

"WillowClan thinks they're above everyone so they distance themselves from us. I heard that LynxStar isn't like that because in a battle one day, someone literally smacked some sense into him." She laughed and passing WillowClan cats glared at her. 

I was going to ask her another question but SunDew came over. "Come on, BadgerPaw. It's best we leave now before RookStar and LostStar try to fight each other. After he finished talking to me, he turned to TuftPaw. "Hello, TuftPaw. MapleGlaze has already told me so much about you. I look forward to watching you grow as a medicine cat."

TuftPaw bared her teeth and turned away from SunDew with a growl. Before I said anything, SunDew spoke up again. "I know you didn't choose this path but even if you were a warrior apprentice, I would expect you to show respect to your elders. I am sure MapleGlaze has already had this talk with you?" SunDew said in that calm but disappointed voice I knew well. "I'm sorry." She said clearly but avoided eye contact with SunDew.

SunDew narrowed his eyes but didn't say anything more to her. "Come on, BadgerPaw. OrchidClan is going back to camp." He said before going back to the medicine cats to say goodbye. I looked at TuftPaw's irritated form one last time before following SunDew.
