Chapter 22

Previously:

"I, Jessica, am from the royal bloodline of Asgard." Her eyes had turned from shining copper to a glowing gold. "Now do you believe me?" Her voice was loud and clear, it seemed to boom and around the room like a lightning bolt. Fenrir looked frightened and in disbelief. But, throughout all of that, he still said,

"No." His voice was shaky, but he straightened himself up. "Our marriage will be pushed forward to tomorrow."

And with that, he left the room, locking Jess in from the outside.

Her eyes clouded over with tears and anger. Before putting her necklace back on, she whispered one thing into it, "Help."

After fumbling to put her necklace back on, Aphmau rushed over to the door and began to bang on it. "Fenrir!" She screamed through the locked door. "You can't do this!" A sound of metal hitting stone was heard throughout the room, but it wasn't loud enough to make any distraction.

"Oh, but I just did," His haunting voice had a small flirty sound to it. "Kitty~." As if on cue, a purring like sound emerged from Aphmau's voice. This shocked her and she covered her mouth, her face heating up. "My point exactly." He chuckled softly and he walked away from the door, his leather shoes tapping with a great volume as he walked around the halls.

She removed her hand and walked over to the only bed in the room and sat down on it, not caring about having shoes on the bed or not.  "T-that noise..." Her eyes looked copper-red. "T-that wasn't me..." She was talking about the purr. She would then feel around her neck for her necklace out of panic. It wasn't there. Her eyes widened in worry as she began to hunt around for it. After about five minutes of searching a chuckle rang through Aphmau's ears.

"Are you looking for this?" She looked up to see Fenrir dangling her necklace in front of her. She hadn't noticed but she was on all fours. She reached up to grab it but he pulled it out of her reach. She could feel something bubble up inside of her but with a deep, long sigh she pushed it back down - it was her anger. "Ah, ah, ah." He teased, chuckling at the bewildered princess. "I told you to get dressed into something nice as you are to meet my mother and father. And, look at yourself, in a crop top and skater skirt sat on all fours on the floor." Aphmau's face flushed in embarrassment. "You really are a meif'wa, and to think I was worried about you." He chuckled in a cruel manner. He then threw the necklace down at Aphmau and pointed in the direction of the bathroom. "Go get changed, now." Out of fright, she picked up her necklace and ran into the bathroom to get changed. She locked the door and stood there, holding her necklace close to her.

"Where is she?!" A voice boomed. The emotions behind of the voice were unclear, but the worry was clear in his eyes. "Where is my daughter?!"

"W-we're not sure, Father," A small voice, a shaky one, came from a few feet away from the first voice.

"What have I told you about stuttering?!" The voice boomed again. He seemed more hurt than angry.

"Sweetheart," A more calming, posh voice came from next to the booming one. "Calm down, I'm sure Jessica is fine." Thor and Irene had lost their daughter and Jin had lost his sister, the one person he could trust the most. No one had seen the princess in at least two days. Thor opened his mouth to say something again when he was interrupted by a purple blinking light and a beeping sound.

Jin's eyes widened. "Jess's necklace."

Aphmau took a deep breath, dried her eyes, fixed her makeup and hair and threw off her other clothes. Being left in her undergarments, she slipped into a different dress this time, a light pink one which darkens the further you go down the skirt. The middle of the skirt was decorated with darker pink flowers and in the middle of the dress, there was a big bow. To partner the dress, she wore a pair of black ballet flats which she tied up into a bow around the ankle area. The dress seemed to work around Aphmau's tail so she would be in the best comfort possible.  Add a collar or bell around her neck or wrist and she really would look like a cat!

Aphmau took a small breath, looking in the mirror. She gulped, a wave of nervousness washing over her. To finish off her look she put her necklace back on, unaware that the distress signal was sent at all, and made sure that it was fastened on tightly and secured. Then, she hid it under the top of the dress and the back was hidden by her long hair.

"Swee-"

Her voice was cold. "Finish that name and I'll end you."

"Whatever, it's time to go." With a roll of her eyes, she stepped out of the bathroom.

"If this really is going to happen, at least learn my name," She sighed. "It's Aphmau, only people I like can call me Jess." He opened his mouth to say something but decided against it.

"Give me your wrist," She tensed up but put it towards him. He tied a piece of ribbon around it and attached a bell. "Now if you try to run away we'll hear." At this point, she was practically a cat. She had the ears, the tail and now the collar. Her cheeks burned up red as he tied the bell onto the ribbon.

"I don't like it," She said bluntly. "Take it off." She began to pick at the individual threads and try to undo it.

"No can do, Hunny," He sighed. "Sorry." She would retaliate against that word but she kept her mouth closed, luckily. "Now, you better be polite to my Father and Mother - the King and Queen-, understood?" Hesitantly, she nodded and he dropped her wrist. "Let's go." And with that, they left the bedroom.
