Hanada
"That's all for today, you all are dismissed," Aizawa spoke before walking out of the classroom, not caring to wait for any classmates to leave.
I stand almost immediately, ready to escape like a rabbit being hunted by a wolf. I felt the thickness in the air, I was sure if I sat for another second my fellow classmates would surround me just like the day before.
And just as I was about to reach the exit the brunette stood in my way, hands on her hips and a glare that I'm sure she meant to look intimidating. But in reality, her features were just too soft to look imitating. She was pretty, gorgeous, even. And her childish behavior may be attractive to some, but to me, it was fucking annoying.
"Yes?" I looked at her, I was a few inches taller than the girl, my features sharper and to many I looked intimidating. But she didn't seem nervous, or maybe she kept that hidden well. Either way, I suppose I could say I was impressed.
"Why are you causing so many problems, Darnell?" She accused, anger flashing in her eyes. Was she really this angry? I didn't speak a word to her till today. "Listen." I sighed, my foot slightly tapping against the ground "For a girl how you grew up, I didn't think it was possible for you to be such a brat. If you want to be a hero you should really watch your mouth. Were you expecting to tell that to a child? Tell them they have a villain's quirk?" I ask and this time, I wait for her response.
"You have no idea how I grew up." She defended with a glare "Not all of us can be rich and get into a school because of our daddy's money."
Again, with this bullshit.
I knew she overheard Bakugou call me out for it yesterday, and thought to bring it up again thinking it hit a nerve. It did.
Letting out a sigh I pulled my bag back up and rested it against my shoulder "If my daddy paid my way here, he could pay your way out. Stay out of my way." I threatened, making her stumble back. Of course, I was lying through my teeth, even if my father was still alive no way would he kick a student out just to please his daughter. It wouldn't look good in the eyes of the public.
Walking out of the classroom I glance to see a green-haired girl comforting the now crying Ochako. If she didn't get so defensive over the idea of how she grew up I may have re-thought the speculation that she grew up poor. The girl must have been coddled as a child.
Looking at my phone I realized class had ended about ten minutes early, meaning I had fifteen minutes to waste. When I went exploring earlier I noted a staircase that led to what I presume was the roof. I'm sure we aren't supposed to be on the roof. The kids here scream: Yes sir, No sir.
A gentle hum left me as I walked up the steps before carefully opening the door to the roof. I was afraid an alarm might go off. But nothing, no alarm. I almost opened the door fully before hearing two voices, and they didn't seem to be having a friendly discussion.
"No way he gave it to you! You must have stolen it!"
"K-Kachaan Please! I didn't!"
Kachaan? Who the fuck names their kid that?
"Deku!" The voice boomed, and only then did I realize who Kachaan was, It was Katsuki Bakugou.
"I don't care if you were given all for one by him! You're weak, you can't even use your quirk without breaking a finger. Just give up."
This really didn't sound like a conversation I was supposed to hear. But fuck, I couldn't turn away an opportunity to collect information. Was All For One his quirk? But how could it have been given to him? Was it metaphoric, as in his father had the same quirk and he got the same one?
"I will not! All Might gave me this and I will not let it go to waste!"
All Might.
Holy shit. My hand flies to my mouth trying to keep the shock to myself to not alert the two boys I was listening to. That means, either Midoriya is All Might's son, or All Might gave his power to Midoriya?
Shaking my head I let out a breath trying not to look frazzled before slamming the door open and walking onto the roof casually before stopping as I see Midoriya on the ground and Bakugou pinning him down by his shirt.
If I didn't hear the conversation my mind would be going in a completely other direction.
Bakugou quickly let go of Midoriya before brushing past me and slamming the door behind him. It didn't seem like he caught on that I was listening in. My head turned back to Midoriya who was sniffling and wiping his tears away before standing.
"Midoriya. May I speak with you?" I requested walking toward the ledge and sitting down on a bench near it. His head turned to me, and his whole demeanor screamed nervousness before he gave me a nod and walked over, hesitantly sitting next to me.
"Does Bakugou always mean this to you?" I ask, I don't want him to catch on what I know.
"S-sometimes, we've been friends for a while. K-kachaan is just a bit—emotional?"
I let out a soft laugh, "Sure, that's one way to put it. Me and Bakugou got in a bit of a tussle this morning too." I hummed, a slight warmness kissing my cheeks as I remembered exactly what–or what almost happened.
"Yes." Midoriya sighed, he seemed a lot less nervous than before. "He's not a bad person though, Delaney."
"You said my name." I froze, turning to look at him, my eyes wide. Even though I requested my first-name, no one in the class really followed it. Except for Aizawa, at times.
"W-well that's what you wanted, right?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck, and I couldn't help the smile that slowly formed on my lips. "Yeah. It is. Thank You."
Turning I opened my bag before pulling out a crumpled piece of paper. "I noticed this morning, when I bumped into you." I showed him.
His face immediately turned bright red, and I couldn't help but chuckle at the sketch of me with the messy notes on the back of my possible quirks, none of them true. "They were pretty good guesses, all based on facts." I praised
"I am—so so sorry. I don't mean for it to be creepy IF...I don't know what to say." He admitted in shame, staring down at his lap. Shaking my head I gently place my hand on his shoulder. "It's alright, I sometimes do the same thing but in my head."
"Really?"
"Yep." I nodded with a soft sigh. "I think you and I are quite alike." I hummed out my head turning toward him, only for him to tilt his head slightly. He reminded me of a puppy. "How?" he asked.
"I mean, from what I've gathered we're pretty quiet people, not saying you don't have people who care for you, but we can also pick up on small things and draw conclusions with the small amount of information we have."
"H-how do you know all that about me? I mean, we have never talked before today."
With a laugh I shake my head, my hand slightly waving in the air "I'm not stalking you Midoriya, I just picked up on your habits today. The way you speak, the way you twitch your leg when you're still." I shrugged before leaning back "Want to hear a secret?" I offer
Midoriya stared at me for a long while, and I couldn't tell if it was unease or interest. "Sure..."
I leaned forward, my hand cupping around his ear as I leaned to whisper in his ear "I lied, about my wrists just cramping if I excurate my power."
I leaned back with a smile, the boy seemed so sad and a part of me just wanted to make him feel better. No friends, Lain.
"What?" He asked with more interest this time leaning closer once I pulled back.
With a giggle I nod "My wrists, they can break if I use them too often. I actually had to break them when I first started training to expand the amount of time I could keep a person under my control." I shrug before rolling up my sleeves showing the scars of multiple breaks. "See? Just like you and your All For One."
"How do you know about that?" Midoriya immediately stood up.
Shit, Fuck. That just slipped without even thought.
My mouth dropped as I stared up at the boy "I am so sorry–"
"Deku! DID THE FUCKING PRINCESS LEAVE YET?"
Both our heads turned to see Bakugou standing by the door. My face must have resembled Midoriya's because Bakugou immediately was on edge. "What?"
"She knows," Midoriya spoke up, making me stand shaking my head. "I'm sorry I truly did not–"
My brain was scattered, and I didn't even see Bakugou's blast before he plummeted into me, pushing me to the ground, his hands holding my shoulders to the roof and pinning my palms against the ground. Fuck.
"Kachaan!" I heard Midoriya yell out.
"Who sent you? Are you a part of a group of villains? Who are you?!"
"W–what?" I gasped out, the air in my lungs was practically nonexistent, and hearing him accuse me of being a villain, was making my head spin even more. Fuck I think he gave me a concussion.
"What's your name?" He screamed in my face, making me go still.
The memories of my father doing the exact same thing, pulling the truth from my very soul as his voice went up, up, up, and–
"Answer me!"
"Hanada!" I sobbed out, kicking my feet to the ground. Trying to do anything for him to just let me go.
"...Hanada?" Midoriya slowly peeped out watching the whole interaction. My heart was beating, beating against my chest so rapidly it was trying to find an escape. But at the sound of my name, my real name, My head whipped to Midoriya who was standing off to the side.
Bakugou's grip loosened at the sound of my name, or really, my family's name. I managed to slip my palm toward him before Paralyzing him. My knee reached up making contact with his chest harshly before I quickly stood, releasing him.
I painted as I stood in front of the two boys. I knew I was caught, But I also knew a secret of theirs. A secret that sounded like a villain could take advantage of. "Yes." I sucked in a breath. "Yes, my name is Haru Hanada."
I glared at the two boys who looked at me dumbfounded. Letting out a sigh I wiped the tears from my face. "Look, I'm not a fucking spy. I was walking up the stairs when I heard you two arguing over All For One and Allmight."
"Then why hide your true identity? And how are we supposed to believe you really are part of the Hanada family, the public has never seen the children of the Hanadas. Besides, the family has been hidden from the public for a few years. It would be easy for anyone to claim to be a Hanada."
"If I was posing to be a Handa wouldn't I just waltz in here claiming to be one?" I question glaring at him. The truth is, no one wants to be a Hanada. Money doesn't protect you from your own family, after all.
"Then why would you lie? Who is Delaney Darnell?" Midoriya asked, taking a softer approach. God they really are playing good cop, bad cop.
"I–" Pausing I realized if I told them my secret would be out, but if I didn't they would report me to UA. "Delany Darnell is a name I made up, everyone around here knows the name Hanada."
"What's the fucking reason for lying?" Bakugou yells, letting out a groan. I tilt my head back. I was backed up against a wall, I couldn't say anything but the truth.
"I didn't want to attract the media, If I used the name Hanada people would start talking and I'd be asked where my parents are. The public doesn't know." I reasoned before meeting the gaze of Bakugou, I knew what he was about to ask. "My parents are dead, okay? And no one knows I'm living alone. So please, don't say anything." I begged both of them, my eyes becoming misty again. I hated begging, but I couldn't let this get out. Not till I found you.
Looking between both the boys I watched as they both stood silent, before Midoriya nodded "I won't say anything Haru, I'm sorry."
"Delaney, don't use that name." I snap before letting out a sigh "I'm sorry, I just–don't like hearing that name." Midoriya simply nodded, as if understanding. "Bakugou?" I frowned, turning to him before he slowly stepped back and walking back down the staircase.
"Bakugou!" I yelled before falling to the ground and landing on my ass. "Fuck." I sobbed out, my hands hitting my face, covering my pitifulness.
"He won't say anything, Delany. I promise. I won't let him." Midoriya spoke up, and as I lifted my head, his eyes were shining. Wiping my eyes I nodded with a sniffle "I'm sorry, Midoriya. I truly did not mean to hear about—you're secret."
"It's okay–I just don't know what to tell All Might." Midoriya worried, his hands fidgeting. Standing tall I shook my head "No. I'll keep my mouth shut, I won't say another word about this. You have my secret and I have yours."
Midoriya paused before he nodded with a bright smile "Okay, Delaney. I guess this makes us friends then, right?"
"Right."
One friend can't hurt, right?
