When You Run From Da Po-Pos
Okay, I couldn't help myself. I had to do a little bit of taunting.
"And she dashes around the corner with superior speed, leaving her pursuers to bite the dust!" I said in a commentator voice as I completed the promised task.
There were now people everywhere, so I darted through them back and forth in an attempt to throw the cops off me some more. I needed time. Time to locate Blue and talk to him. True, might be some crazy ganglord who yells at nothingness, but I had this odd feeling that he knew something very important. That and an itching instinct in the back of my mind that told me that he was or had some relation to yet another supernatural person.
"Skipping through the crowd, she begins to lose her pursuers!" I commemorated yet again.
"I should probably shut up now, or I'll just keep giving away my location," I thought quickly.
I ran past a bunch of giant green square structures, stopped abruptly, and sidestepped into one smoothly. Closing the door, I heard many different noises of the outside crowd, but just shut them out for a moment. And plugged my nose. it always reeks in these potty-things. I breathed in, thinking of a smooth brown jaw-length Bob haircut, with full bangs above my eyebrows. I stepped out, walking casually towards the gate and eventually the cop cars.
"Hopefully my new hairdo won't throw him off too much," I thought pushing through the people in front of me.
I slipped out the gate and started towards the black and white vehicles, but was interrupted by some vibrating in my pocket. Still trying to look like I was casually walking in their direction, I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and slid my finger over the shattered screen, which miraculously worked, but at the expense of some newfound blood and a lovely addition to the rest of my cuts and bruises. This reminded me of my arm that I seemed to have forgotten about, but now that I remembered it, the pain flooded back into my brain. I non-verbally cussed as the phone came up to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Izz! Oh my gosh where are you? Someone said you were at the porta-potties, but we can't find you! Are you okay?"
It was Karmen.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. There was this girl that found me and she told me to stay hidden and stuff, so I decided to move, just in case,"
"Okay, well where are you now?"
"I'm...umm...well..."
My mind drew a stupid blank. Dang, I was on a really good lying streak too (Actually, in all honesty, I felt pretty bad about lying, but at the same time, I was happy about it because I hardly ever lied, and if I did, I was horrible at it)! But hmm...where would I go to hide that I would think no one would ever look?
Ah, I know: the band room. It was all the way across the parking lot and away from the field, but I had a good vantage point for looking out a window and seeing what was going on, without attracting too much attention. Perfect.
"I'm in the band room,"
"Okay, just stay there and we'll come and get you, ok? Hang tight,"
"K,"
Then the call ended, and by that time I was almost to my current destination. I walked up to three policemen standing next to two cop cars and a firetruck. I was placed in a perpendicular position from the closest one, so I saw the contents of the car through the windows. The contents happened to be Blue. I walked up to the closest cop leaning against the car and winced painfully before I said,
"Um sir, I'm bleeding, and my arm's a bit dislocated, do have anything that could help me?"
He looked at my left arm sympathetically, then nodded and turned around, walking to the firetruck.
"See Izz, not all cops fit into one stereotypical category," I mused to myself.
I opened the driver's side door and rolled down the back window. There were still bars in the window, but now I could talk to him.
"Hey, miss me?"
He looked up at me with a brooding face that I did not feel very fond of, but that was quickly replaced with a look of confusion. He stared at me for a few seconds, looking over my face.
"Do I know you?" He asked unbeknownst as to who I was.
"Well yes, technically only for about an hour though. As I recall, you saw me doing some trippy stuff, which caused you to do some pretty...drastic things."
Now he stared at me with a look of high scepticism.
"Okay, seriously, I don't have much time, just give me longer wavy-curly hair with no bangs, then you should recognize me."
He scrutinized my face thoroughly, then it clicked the moment he looked directly into my golden eyes. He could have just looked there first, I mean, not everybody's eyes looked like they are worth hundreds of dollars (that's because everybody and their eyes are priceless Izz...)(ohhhh...yeah you right, didn't think about that). He seemed shocked, but before anything could escape his starved thin lips I spoke first.
"Can you please tell me what the heck is going on? I showed you...something, and you freaked out to the point where you killed one of your own," I glanced away for a second, grabbing a much needed breath, then looked back.
"You also didn't answer my previous question,"
He looked at me, again confused.
"Why go for a high school football game when you the capability to rob a string of banks? Doing that would be more logical, giving you a higher profit and such...so I just don't get it...Why here?"
Without hesitating his mouth opened to speak, but it abruptly shut again, and his eyes went wide as he simultaneously did so.
