I AM HERE I AM HERE I AM H— Izuku slammed his alarm clock. He woke up and stretched. He brushed his teeth and changed for the morning. He headed down to his kitchen to have some breakfast. For him, it was another wonderful school day.
“Morning mom.” He said as he took a bite out of his toast. He got a ring on his phone.
“There’s a villain attack! Bye mom!” Izuku waved as he ran out the door.
“Bye Izuku!” Inko shouted from the kitchen. Izuku went running down the street to see a large villain fighting a hero. He looked in amazement as Kamui Woods tried to capture the villain with his strongest attack.
“LACQUERED CHAIN PRISON!” Kamui Woods screamed. His arm began to extend out into branches.
That all ended as a large hero, Mount Lady, landed her feet against the large villain. Izuku sighed, kinda annoyed about what just happened.
“Hey kid, you seem really interested.” A man said.
“Oh! Yeah! I’m learning to be a pro hero one day like them!” Izuku smiled.
“Amazing! I bet you’ll do great!” He said with a thumbs up.
Izuku nodded. He looked at the time. He then sprinted off to get to school.
He got in, and throughout the day, he paid attention and all that. Then, the last class of the day came around.
“Good Afternoon class and welcome. Today we will discuss about our future. I’ll pass out paper for you guys to fill out.” He said. Everyone groaned.
“But, there is no need since I already know...” He began. He threw all the papers in the air.
“You’re all going to become heroes!” He said. Everyone cheered out with their quirks active.
“Now now, you all have some interesting quirks. I bet that you’ll get some good—”
“HA! You think you extras are gonna become heroes with your lame a$$ quirks?” A certain someone said. It was Katsuki Bakugo. He leaped up on the top of his desk.
“None of you will be able to become a good hero. Me on the other hand, I’m gonna get into UA and become better than All Might!” He grinned.
“UA!?” Someone asked.
“That’s a point one percent chance to get in!” Some one else said.
“Oh yeah, Midoriya, you want to go there too.” The teacher said.
Everyone looked at him. Izuku put his head down really embarrassed.
That was until Bakugo set off an explosion on his desk. This caused Izuku to fall backwards in his chair.
“AH!” He screamed as he hit the ground.
“You think someone like you will get in?” Bakugo asked.
“W-W-Well they allowed quirkless people to get in, so I have a chance!” He said.
Everyone laughed at him. Heck, even the teacher did.
“You’re never getting in. You useless. Quirkless Deku.” Bakugo said setting off a small explosion after poking Izuku in the chest.
“Okay okay. Enough with the jokes. Everyone back to their seats. We actually need to do this.” The teacher said.
Izuku sighed as he picked up his seat and he sat down.
So, even the teacher thinks I’m a joke now.
The class was long for Izuku. He heard whispers of his name and laughing. Everyone was making fun of him. Soon enough the bell rang. He sat there writing in his notebook, looking at his phone.
“Hmm... Kamui Woods today has already taken out three villains. Mount Lady also got a pretty good debut even though she started a week ago. Those two are unnatural. Meanwhile.. mutter mutter mutter mutter.” Izuku began muttering to himself.
That was until the notebook was swept from right under him.
“Huh? What!?” Izuku asked as he looked up. Bakugo was holding the notebook while his two ‘henchmen’ stood next to him.
“What’s in this? Is it a diary?” Bakugo asked.
“Uh... no! It’s a hero notebook. There’s a lot of important notes in there so please be careful!” Izuku said.
He lunged over his desk to grab it. Bakugo side stepped near the window.
“Please don’t! I really need that! It’s really important and FRAGILE!” Izuku screamed as Bakugo blew it up and threw it out the window.
“Well, I’d suggest you give up now, quirkless Deku. There’s nothing you can do.” Bakugo said as he set off small explosions on Izuku’s shoulder.
Bakugo let go as Izuku ran over to the window. He sighed. Bakugo stopped.
“You know, there is one thing you can do.” Bakugo said. Izuku turned around to hear him.
“You can swine dive off the roof. You might be reborn with a quirk.” He smirked as he walked off. Izuku clenched his fist with a useless power, nothing. He couldn’t do anything. He sighed as he packed his bag and walked off outside.
“Stupid Kacchan. You can’t just tell people to kill themselves.” Izuku said to himself. He stopped when he saw fish nibbling on his notebook.
“Stop. That’s not food.” He said as he pulled out his drenched notebook. He sighed.
“No, I can’t let my hopes fall! I will become a hero!” Izuku shouted.
“HAHAHA! DON’T FEAR! WHY? BECAUSE I AM HERE!” Izuku shouted imitating All Might as he walked into a tunnel.
Half way through the tunnel he heard a metal clank sound. He turned to see something leave the sewer system. It was sludge.
“Uh...” Izuku got out before the Sludge Villain looked at him. He charged Izuku and started entering his body.
“You’ll make a good meat shield kid! Stay still! It’ll hurt less!” The villain said. Izuku tried to get air. He couldn’t.
I’m gonna die here! This is it! I’m doomed... not like I’ll loose much...
He then saw something else leave the sewers as well. He quickly let off a few punches. Izuku went flying. Just before he passed out, he saw a figure.
“All... Might...?” He asked himself. He passed out.
Slap slap slap slap slap slap slap slap slap slap slap
“H-Huh?” Izuku asked.
“Ah! Good! You’re awake!” All Might said. Izuku blinked a few times.
“ALL MIGHT!? UH, where is it!?” He asked himself. He opened his notebook to see that a page was already signed by All Might.
“HE SIGNED IT!” Izuku shouted. All Might made a sign with his hand.
“Good bye now! I’ll be going!” All Might said.
No! Don’t go! Not yet!
All Might blasted off with a single jump.
“Hmm... I feel a little heavy.” All Might said to himself. He looked at his leg to see Izuku hanging on.
“AHHHH I HAVE A QUESTION!” Izuku shouted as air propelled his face off his skull.
“Relax! Close your eyes and mouth!” All Might said. He coughed a bit of blood.
What am I going to do?
He and Izuku landed onto a building.
“Well anyway I have to take this villain away. Good bye. If you knock enough they’ll let you in.” All Might said.
I have to ask now!
“Please! Answer this question!” Izuku said.
“Sorry I have to go.” All Might said.
“CAN I BE A HERO WITHOUT A QUIRK!?” Izuku asked. Izuku looked downwards at the ground.
“Honestly. It sounds stupid, but my entire life people looked down on me. Even my own mother. After people found out, they ridiculed me and beat me up.. Honestly, I stay happy but it’s hard to do so now. I’m almost all out of hope. So I want to ask you, the Number One Hero, Symbol of Peace, is it possible, for me, a quirkless kid, to become a hero?” Izuku asked when he looked up. That’s when he jumped in surprise.
“Who are you!?” He asked.
“Relax kid, I’m still All Might, just not as buff. My body was hurt in a battle long ago. It destroyed half my respiratory system.” All Might said, now skinny and bony.
“Oh...” Izuku said.
“Don’t tell anyone or post any pictures. This is a secret.” All Might said.
“Oh! Yeah, right!” Izuku responded.
“Anyway, about your question. Can a Quirkless kid like you be a hero?” All Might asked.
Izuku nodded. They stood there for a second. Nothing but silence. Then, the next words broke Izuku’s heart.
“No. Not a Pro Hero. Maybe you can join the police force, but I don’t see it possible to be a hero without a quirk.” All Might said.
Izuku’s eye twitched. That was the last of his hope leaving him. Everyone he ever asked said no, even All Might himself. He’s been beaten senseless to get the message that he can’t be a hero.
He now knew that it was the truth. All hope was gone.
“Anyway, I’m going to take these guys to the police station—” All Might began before being cut off by an explosion.
All Might turned to see smoke. Izuku just stayed staring at the ground.
“NO!” He shouted.
He buffed up and jumped off the building. He hit the ground and coughed up blood. He couldn’t go any longer. Izuku was now up there alone. He walked to the edge of the building. He looked down.
“Maybe Kacchan is right. Maybe I should just jump.” He said.
He lifted his foot. The door swung open.
“Hey! I thought I heard someone up here! What are you doing!? Get over here!” A man said. Izuku turned.
“Right.” He said.
His eyes were lifeless. He walked out of the building. He didn’t know where to go now. All he did was walk down the sidewalk, down the road, until he heard screaming and explosions.
He looked to see the Sludge Villain. He noticed it attacking someone. That someone was Bakugo.
Izuku stopped and watched. In fact he had a small grin. Bakugo’s explosions got smaller and smaller. Izuku’s grin got wider. He was probably about to die before a figure zoomed in and punched the villain off him. All Might did it. Izuku’s grin turned into a frown before he turned and walked away. It started to rain.
“HE CHANGED THE WEATHER WITH A SINGLE PUNCH!” Someone shouted. Izuku smirked.
“Yeah. This rain is sooo great.” Izuku said sarcastically. He walked home.
Once he made it back, he realized he was alone. Inko was probably finishing up work. Izuku went to his room. He sat on his bed for a moment. He clenched his fists.
“GOD DAMMIT!” He screamed ripping off All Might merchandise from the walls. He took down one after another. He smacked action figures from counter tops and ripped up T-Shirts. He turned to see his notebook with the All Might signature.
He walked over to it to rip it up before the page flipped on its own. It went to some hero notes. He picked them up. He sat on his bed again. His room was a mess.
“Why? Why does nobody believe in me?” Izuku asked himself. Tears fell from his eyes. He was broken.
Everyone told him no. He was alone, bruised, hopeless and weak. He stopped soon enough.
“Fine... if I can’t get help from others...” Izuku began. He grabbed all the garbage from the room and placed it in a bin. He set out all of his notebooks.
“I’ll do it myself.” He said. He picked up a weight and started lifting. He was broken, but he wanted to make a point.
He wanted, not to become a hero. Oh no, that dream was long gone. He wanted to simply prove everyone wrong.
He wanted to show that doubting him was an awful idea.
He’s gonna get back at All Might, Bakugo, his Mom even.
His eyes were lifeless yet determined and filled with hatred. For the next few months he did this. He trained. Soon enough the day came. The UA entrance exams. He woke up that morning with a grin. He will succeed. He would force himself to...
