At school the next day, a bunch of reporters kept ambushing U.A. students with questions as they tried to get to class. They even managed to snag Aizawa, who told them off while his students hid behind him after being harassed by the media. Everyone gave the reporters excuses and then the school staff just completely locked them out of the school.
In class, Aizawa lectured them about the results of their Practical Hero Training the day before, although he mainly scolded Bakugou and Midoriya.
Rin snickered when Aizawa told Bakugou to grow up and stop wasting his power.
"YOU GOT A PROBLEM, FREAK?!" Bakugou turned to snarl at Rin sitting in his spot across the classroom with his his chin leaning in his palm as he watched in amusement.
"I don't know, depends on how you see the situation. You think everyone has a problem with you because you're hot shit and full of it too." The fire-user grinned, flashing his fangs before Aizawa ordered them to quiet down. "The real reason everyone has a problem with you is because your personality is also a flaming pile of shit."
After that, Iida scolded Rin for being 'antagonistic.' Then he lectured Rin for being so rough with Yaoyorozu before Aizawa could get another word in. Rin shrugged.
"Equality. And no, I'm not using that as an excuse to punch girls, I'm not a dick.(Language, Okumura, please!) If these girls got into Hero courses, they're worth the fight. I'll give them the fight they deserve." That got him a nod of approval from Aizawa, a grin from Sero, and a fist bump from Kirishima("So manly!").
Aizawa conceded the point and moved on. It turned out they had to pick a class president. At first, it was a mess, but Iida settled it with a voting system and in the end, Midoriya and Yaoyorozu were their class leaders. Rin liked that pairing to lead their class. As long as it wasn't Bakugou or Mineta leading their class, he figured they would be fine. Yaoyorozu was very put together and practical and Midoriya was very smart. They could balance each other out nicely and learn from each other while leading Class 1-A to victory.

At lunch, Midoriya sat with Uraraka and Iida. Uraraka was saying something about there being a lot of kids coming together for lunch when Midoriya voiced his concerns about being Class President. Both of his friends assured him he'd do good.
"But don't you wanna be president too, Iida?" Uraraka pointed out. She really just says whatever pops into her head, huh?
Iida said something noble about knowing the right choices to make and being humble, like always.
"The way you talk....Iida, are you....a rich kid?!" Uraraka realized with a gasp.
"I don't like people to know, so I try to hide it, but....yes. Mine is a renowned hero family and I am the second son." He admitted.
"Woah, cool!" His two friends cheered, looking like two excited puppies sitting next to each other across from him. Without his permission, his thoughts automatically supplied 'Cute.' before he pushed the thought aside.
"Do you know of the turbo hero, Ingenium?" Iida asked.
"Of course! He employs 65 sidekicks at his office in Tokyo!! So you're....!" Midoriya recalled.
"How very informed." Iida muttered, pleased. He liked Midoriya's extensive knowledge on things and his tenacity. It made it easier for Iida to talk to him and understand his motives. With Uraraka, the two boys often had to explain things in deeper detail, but with simple enough words for her to understand. She wasn't dumb by any means, Midoriya and Iida just knew an unnecessary amount of big words. Iida liked Uraraka, but it was simply easier to talk with Midoriya.
"Yes, he is my brother." Iida told them, unable to stop from giving a small smile in pride at the name of his older brother.
"He's so frank about it, wow!" Uraraka laughed.
"He leads the people with his unwavering adherence to rules and regulations. A truly beloved hero! It's my admiration for my brother that's inspired my own desire to become a hero." Iida explained to them.
He looked at Midoriya and smiled wider. "Though I realize I'm not yet ready to lead anyone. As the superior candidate, it was right that the role should go to you, Midoriya!" He declared.
"Never seen you smile before, Iida!" Uraraka told him in surprise.
"Eh?! Is that so?! I smile on occasion!" He protested. Midoriya was smiling at the protest.
"You look nice when you smile, Iida." The green-haired boy mused. Uraraka nodded her head in agreement, smiling wide. What was he supposed to do when his two cute friends ganged up on him like this?! He was not given a proper warning about crushes in highschool! It had only been a few days, how was this already starting?! Iida thought he'd be able to resist, but apparently his weakness was short cuties with sunshine smiles and fluffy hair. Damn.
His internal panic was interrupted and surprised by the alarm going off, blaring loudly throughout the halls. Uraraka choked on her food and coughed to get it down as and Midoriya and Iida jumped up in reflex to the loud noise.
They rushed to see what it was, only to be caught in the rush of students as they panicked. It was like a riptide, taking them by surprise and pulling them along against their wills. Midoriya quickly got separated from his friends and reached for Iida's outstretched hand. He was pulled even further away and Uraraka saw him get pulled under the taller students.
"Woah, what the hell?!" Rin cried as he was dragged off by the students. He flared blue fire around him(non lethal, it didn't actually burn anyone) and people rapidly backed away from it on reflex.
"I've gotcha!" Suguro grabbed Rin and pulled the shorter teen to him, wrapping an arm around his thighs and pulling Rin up to sit on his shoulder.
"What the fuck are you doing?! Let go of me! I can walk on my own!" Rin growled, pulling on his friend's ear piercings in retribution. I'm his defense, he didn't like being manhandled–mainly because people tended to do that when they wanted to beat the shit out of you. He'd apologize to Suguro later.
"Ow! Stop that! You'll get trampled with how small you are if I put you down!" Suguro winced, refusing to drop his friend.
"I am not small!" Rin insisted, pinching his arm.
"You're shorter than that Creation girl in your class." Suguro pointed out. Another pinch.
"She's tall for a girl!"
"Aww, Suguro's carrying his 1-A boyfriend down the halls. How disgusting. How could you even go near him without wanting to beat him and his precious 1-A classmates? This is such crap!" A honey-blonde, slate-grey eyed boy taunted.
"Watch it, you dyed-blonde weirdo!" Rin called as they passed him.
"It's natural!" The boy shrieked indignantly.
"I think you pissed him off." Suguro snickered.
"Hey, stop walking away and face me like a man!" The boy called. Rin obliged and dropped to the ground, Suguro finally letting him go since they were near the back of the crowd now. He let out a blast of bright blue flames to explode around the blonde. He heard a high-pitched scream before pulling the flames back. They flickered behind him in tendrils.
"Fuck off, there's a reason you didn't get into 1-A. Maybe if you weren't so salty, people would like you!" He sneered. He'd heard Suguro complain about this guy since school started–Monoma from Class 1-B.

While Rin had been dealing with Monoma, Iida had apparently calmed the crowd and earned himself some respect. Apparently enough respect to get himself elected for class president in Midoriya's place. Rin nearly groaned out loud. He respected Iida, but the guy was a stickler for rules and would probably be hounding Rin most of the time. If that happened, he'd probably get stuck in detention with Bakugou all the time. That would truly suck.

Principal Nedzu and a few teachers looked at a seemingly blown-up entrance to the school.
It was clear it wasn't the media that had done this.
"Someone meant to do this. Whether they are doing someone's dirty work or waging a war or not is unclear, but be on guard." He ordered.
The teachers surveying the disintegrated door nodded in agreement.
