Chapter 69: From 1 Second To The Next

(Isabelle's POV)

I was looking all over the city, trying to find my Shadow Copy. Even with using my Power, it's still difficult to find it.

Isabelle: Damn thing...

I snapped my fingers, freezing time completely. I looked around and saw some dark energy move. I went over to it and kicked it. I snapped my fingers again, making a bunch of knives appear above the dark energy. The dark energy disappeared right before the knives could hit. I looked behind me and saw the dark energy there, forming to look like me.

Isabelle: Found you.

I took out the knife that once belonged to Timer and tried to stab my Shadow Copy. The blade went through the copy. I jumped back, but my copy raised its hand at me as a yellow aura surrounded my body. I snapped my fingers, breaking the Time Position Cage it tried to use on me.

Isabelle: I won't fall for my own techniques.

The Shadow Copy appeared right in front of me and tried to punch me. I blocked it's punch with my arm, but it punched my arm away, making me let go of Timer's knife. I scoffed and appeared next to his knife, grabbing it. I saw a ton of black energy shaped like knives appear around me. They all tried to stab me, but I made a yellow aura surrounded all of them and made them disappear.

Isabelle: This copy doesn't let up.

I made time flow again, but it immediately stopped again. I looked back and saw my copy walking towards me. I know that it was its doing.

Isabelle: I see you want this to end in an instant.

It formed a knife in its hand and ran at me. We both swiped our knives at each other, clashing them together. It tried to quickly swipe me, but I bent back, barely dodging its attack. I kicked it's hand, knocking the knife out of its hand. I tried to stab it again, but it disappeared. I quickly snapped my fingers as knives appeared behind me and launched themselves at the Shadow Copy that was behind me. I looked back and right when the knives were going to hit, the Shadow Copy disappeared again.

Isabelle: It keeps spamming my Power to dodge. It's getting annoying.

I took a deep breath as I tried to locate the copy. I blinked my eyes and when I opened them, I saw my clone about to stab my eye out. I swiped my knife at it, redirecting the copy's attack to barely miss me. I kicked it back and appeared above it. I made several more knives appear and threw them at the copy. I also threw Timer's knife behind me.

Isabelle: I got you.

The barrage of knives were about to hit my copy, but it disappeared and was right in front of Timer's knife. His knife stabbed right into her chest, making it scream in pain.

Isabelle: You are me, so I can easily predict you.

It took out Timer's knife and threw it away. I quickly appeared next to the knife and grabbed it, but my copy was there and punched me down to the ground. I landed on my feet.

Isabelle: Damn, it knew I would go for it. Am I really that predictable?

I saw my clone appear a couple feet away from me and was slowly walking towards me. I threw a nearby rock at it, but it used my Power to dodge it.

Isabelle: It really likes to use my Power a lot. Do I do that?

I ran at it, trying to slash at it. My clone disappeared and reappeared above me. It was about to attack me, but I disappeared and reappeared above the clone and slashed its entire arm off. It screamed in pain. I kicked it down to the ground. I landed on the ground. I saw a yellow aura surround my copy as it's injury's disappeared and it's arm is back. It disappeared. I was knocked back into a building. I got out of the building and ran at the copy. It sent a ton of dark energy knives at me, but I slashed at them all, getting rid of them.

Isabelle: I'm getting tired of you!

My hair started to glow yellow and my eyes glowed as well as I went behind my clone and surrounded it in a yellow aura. It tried its best to escape, but it can't escape while I'm using my Leveled Up Power.

Isabelle: I'm going to end this now.

My copy started to scream as it tried its best to escape my Time Position Cage. Good thing it doesn't know how to use my Leveled Up Power. I got rid of the yellow aura and it went forward. I stabbed it in the chest. I slashed at my copy a million times in an instant, completely disappearing. I smirked.

Isabelle: Easy enough.

I saw a yellow light appear and my copy appeared from it.

Isabelle: It used my Power to come back from complete destruction?

It screamed at me and rushed at me with a dark energy knife in its hand. I slashed at it and it slashed back. Our knives clashed, making both of our break. I looked at Timer's knife and half of the blade broke off.

Isabelle: Ah!

My Shadow Copy saw the broken knife and grabbed it out of my hand. It ran over to the other part of the blade and tried to put it back together. I sighed as the copy used my Power to fix the knife.

Isabelle: ...Always relying on my Power to fix something... I guess that really is me, huh?

I put my hands in the pockets of my coat and I looked down at the ground.

Isabelle: I always did that. I would always rely on my Power for anything really. I don't think anyone would blame me though. The Power of Time Control is definitely a great Power... But I'm sure that (Y/N) doesn't rely on his Power like that. Maybe I can really learn a thing or two from him.

I started to think about it more. I slowly started to walk to my Shadow Copy that's making sure Timer's knife is in perfect condition.

Isabelle: I do feel bad for what Timer did, sacrificing himself for someone like me. But that was his choice and he did so without regret. I can't change that... Maybe Darkness was also trying to teach me something when he didn't want me to restore his arms...

I raised my hand and pointed it towards Timer's knife. I used my Power on it to break the knife's blade again. My copy tried to fix it, but I took Timer's knife from it.

Isabelle: ...Somethings are better left broken.

My Shadow Copy tried to attack me, but I stabbed Timer's broken knife into it. I filled energy from my attacks all throughout time into my copy and destroyed it in an instant. I saw a small black orb with a yellow aura around it floating in front of me. I tried to grab it, but it flew over to the tower made out of the dark energy. I finally resumed time and stopped using my Leveled Up Power.

Isabelle: Glad to get rid of that copy.

I looked down at Timer's broken knife. I put it in my coat pocket.

Isabelle: Alright, time to go find people that need help.

(Grace's POV)

I came out of a portal, dodging attacks from my clone. It came out of a portal and swiped the air, making a bunch of bowling balls appear and fall down at me. I quickly swiped the air with my huge paintbrush, using some ink to make a big trampoline. The trampoline bounced the bowling balls up at the clone. It made a portal in front of itself. I saw a portal open behind me and the bowling balls knocked into my back.

Grace: Didn't think you would be so crafty.

My blue eye turned red as I touched the bowling balls, turning them all into ink. I got rid of the trampoline and took the big glob of ink I have now. I made a giant sword from it and slashed it down at my clone. My sword crashed into the ground, breaking the road under it and making a bunch of dust cover the area. I landed on the ground.

Grace: Did that get her?

I tried to look through the dust to find her, but I couldn't quite see it. I heard something to my right. I looked over and saw my clone running at me. It made a tommy gun in its hands and started to fire it at me.

Grace: Wow! A little unnecessary!

I jumped up, dodging the bullets. She kept firing at me. I smirked and made a portal in front of me, making all the bullets my clone fired go right into it.

Grace: You're not the only one that can do that trick.

A portal appeared behind my clone, making all the bullets go into her. She grunted in pain and fell down to one knee. I landed on the ground and ran right at her. I made a baseball bat with my paintbrush and swung it right into my clone. She got flung into the air.

Grace: And she's outta her!

I saw my clone land on top of a building. She stood up and looked down at me. We both just stared at each other. I'm not quite sure what she's thinking about, but I'm definitely trying to think about what my next move should be. My clone jumped down the building and started to run on the side of it. It swiped the air, making what looks like a bunch of giant hornets. The hornets flew at me, getting ready to attack me. I looked around and saw a huge piece of the road that broke off. I touched it and made it into ink. I turned the ink into a huge bottle of bug spray and crushed the hornets with it, destroying the hornets completely.

Grace: That was a close-

I was interrupted by my clone running at me and punching me in the face. I was knocked back and I fell down onto the ground. I got up and grunted in pain and held my cheek. Me and my clone just stared at each other. After a couple moments, my clone started to run at me, but I saw it froze in place.

Grace: Huh? What just happened?

I heard footsteps behind me. I looked behind me and saw Isabelle walking towards me.

Grace: Oh hey Isabelle! I see you stopped time, am I right?

Isabelle: You're still fighting your Shadow Copy? I thought you would've been done by now.

Grace: It's been harder to deal with this thing. Since you're here, I'm sure you know the pain it is to deal with these clones.

Isabelle: I have. You are going about this wrong. You have to see what your negative attributes are that your Shadow Clone shows and overcome them.

Grace: My negative traits?

I looked back at my frozen clone.

Grace: That's a lot easier said than done.

Isabelle: If you want my opinion. I think you over think too much?

Grace: Over think?

Isabelle: Yeah. I noticed that you have a big problem when it comes to that. You always standing there, thinking about what to do next instead of just taking action.

I started to think about what she was saying. I definitely am slow. I thought back to all the times where I had to stop and think about a plan or just completely ignored certain details that would help me in fights. If I keep that up, then I'm going to get someone I really care about get hurt. I don't want that to happen.

Grace: Alright. I think I know what to do. Can you start time again?

Isabelle: You sure you don't want a second to think about a strategy?

Grace: No, I already have it.

Isabelle smiled at me and resumed time. My clone ran at me. I ran at it and swiped the air with my brush, making a bunch of chains appear. I wrapped them around my clone. I swung her into the air. I pulled back on the chains as hard as I could, pulling my clone down. I took some ink and made a replica of me and she has a sword in her hand. She started to slash up at my Shadow Copy, pushing it upward as I kept pulling the chains downward.

Grace: This will be the last push!

My replica's sword turned into a shield and used it to push against my Shadow Copy and I pulled as hard as I could. My Shadow Copy started to scream before it broke into several pieces thanks to the chains going through her. The pieces of her body faded away as I got rid of my replica. I saw a small black ball with an orange aura surrounded it. It flew over to the huge dark tower in the middle of the city.

Grace: Huh. That was strange.

Isabelle: Same thing happened to me too.

Grace: That might be a bad thing.

Isabelle: Maybe... Let's get going. People are still in need.

Grace: Right!

I ran past Isabelle and gripped onto my brush, getting ready to spring into action and save the innocent people that got caught up in this mess.
