(Readers POV)

Everyone watched as Mr. Black ran out of the gym. Dave let out a sigh and got rid of the blue fire around his trident.

Dave: Great. It would appear that our duel must wait another time.

I let out a sigh as I stopped using my Power. I walked over to the seats and sat down, next to Katie.

Katie: That match was fun to watch, even if it wasn't long and hard to follow.

(Y/N): Thanks.

Katie put her head on my shoulder and put her hand on top of mine.

Katie: I can't help but worry about why Mr. Black ran out. He sounded really serious about it.

(Y/N): He's an expert. I'm sure he'll be able to handle whatever he's doing.

(Fox's POV)

I looked at the white haired man. This is the guy that out Mental in such a hurt state.

Chemist: Just who are you?

Growth: You may call me by the name of my Power, Growth.

Growth? I remember Super saying be careful of a man with that name. If Super thinks he's a threat, me and Chemist are in some deep shit.

Chemist: Why were you attacking Mental?

Growth: I was simply practicing something with my Power and she tried to stop me. All I did was defend myself.

Fox: Listen, I don't care what you were doing. If you don't surrender now, I'll be forced to make you.

I pointed my tendrils at Growth. He just chuckled at me and patted himself on the shoulder. He vanished from sight and I felt a hand grab one of my tendrils.

Growth: I cannot allow myself to fail, especially here.

I tried to attack behind me, but I didn't hit anything. I looked over at Chemist and she's just as confused as me.

Chemist: Where did he go?!

Growth: Chemist. You are the fifth ranked Hero. It is safe to say that you certainly know how it's like to be a Hero.

Growth appeared next to Chemist. She started to slowly reach into her pocket.

Growth: I must know why you decided to become a Hero.

Chemist: That's an easy question to answer.

She pulled out a glass beaker and slammed it down at the ground, making an explosion. Me and Chemist were sent back, but we landed on our feet.

Chemist: The answer is that it's my business!

The smoke from the explosion faded away and Growth is standing there, unfazed. He wiped some dirt off his shoulder.

Growth: My apologies. I guess you two don't wish to talk it out after all.

One moment Growth is standing there and the next moment he is in front of me. He grabbed my face and slammed me down into the ground, making a small crater. Chemist quickly knocked Growth off of me. I grabbed him by the foot with one of my tendrils and threw him down into the ground. He grabbed my tendril, but I quickly got rid of it.

Growth: Your Power, Void, is an interesting one. I must know about how you use it. Whenever I use my Power, I think of a emotion to help me use it. What kind of emotion do you use?

Fox: ...I don't think of any. That's how Void is best used.

Growth: So you must throw away the thing that makes us humans special and unique to use your Power? In the world I will create, that wouldn't be an issue.

Chemist: The world you'll create? What does that mean?

Growth: In truth, I do not wish to fight you. I do not want to set the example of solving problems with violence to the new world. I will make this world equal. No one will be shunned for their looks, the people they're around, their Power. Everyone shall be treated fairly.

Fox: Hehe. You think I have an issue with throwing away some emotions while I fight?

Growth looked at me with curiosity. I made a black tendril and reached into my pocket with it. I grabbed several pills that are filled with water and brought to Chemist. I started to whisper to her.

Fox: Fill these with Adrenaline.

Chemist looked at me with concern, but she nodded her head and quickly used her Power on the pills.

Growth: Explain, Fox. What do you mean by your words?

He knows my name? Whatever his Power is, it's scary.

Fox: I don't care if the world is unfair to me. I was born with Void and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Growth: ...So you will oppose the world I wish to make?

Chemist: Yeah, I'm with my Foxy Pie with this! There are a lot of people that don't want to change! And I'm one of those people!

Growth: From experience, those people are crazy.

Fox and Chemist: That's just the way we like it!

Me and Chemist started to run at Growth. Chemist reached into her pocket and pulled out several smoke bombs, throwing them down at the ground. Smoke covered the area as me and Chemist stopped in our tracks. I made a human shape with my Power and continued to make it go forward. I saw Growth's silhouette raise his hand and a strong amount of force came from it, destroying my decoy and blowing away all the smoke in the area.

Chemist: If we kept running, we would've been done for.

I made some tendrils and wrapped them around my arms. I started to run at Growth again. I got close to him and swung a punch at him. He dodged the punch and tried to punch me back. I made a shield and blocked his fist, but I can feel some of the force from his attack shoot through my arm.

Fox: You actually made me feel pain from that.

Growth: Those who shall oppose me, have no place in the world I will make.

I can feel all this intent for death coming from Growth. It actually sent a single shiver down my spine. I quickly punched him in the side of his stomach. Growth barely reacted from my punch. Chemist threw several beakers down at us. I quickly made a protective bubble around myself as I heard several large explosions.

Fox: Heh, that definitely made you feel something.

A hand broke through into my bubble.

Fox: What?!

An orb of energy came out of the hand and hit me on the chest, sending me back. I landed on the ground. That hurt a lot. That was the most painful attack I've ever taken. I coughed up a bit of blood. The bubble around me disappeared as I sat up.

Chemist: Foxy Pie!

Chemist looked mad at Growth. She took a water bottle she had in her pocket and it started to change into various colors. She ran at Growth as she opened the water bottle. The colorful liquid was flying out the bottle and fell into the ground. Growth tried to punch Chemist, but she dodged and grabbed Growth's arm. Growth tried to grab the bottle, but some of the liquid came into contact with his skin, making it burn.

Chemist: I wouldn't touch this stuff if I were you.

Growth: A simple solution.

He flicked his finger, making the bottle in Chemist's hand fly out of it. It landed on the ground and the liquid inside went into the ground.

Growth: Was that all?

He flicked Chemist away from him. I quickly got up and I managed to catch her in my arms. We are breathing heavily. We've been hit only a few times and we're already near our limits.

Growth: I do not wish to cut such young lives short. I will give you two a chance to reconsider your choice.

Fox: You think... We'll change our minds that easily?

Growth looked down and shook his head. He took a step forward and the ground under him started to glow. A huge explosion came out, sending me and Chemist back. I made a tendril and stabbed it into the ground, stopping me and Chemist.

Chemist: You really thought the only thing in that bottle was acid?

So that was her plan all along? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. She is the smarter one out of the two of us. The smoke cleared up and there is a huge crater.

Chemist: That will slow you down.

Growth: You really thought I would fall for such a trick?

I heard Growth's voice behind me. I looked back and saw an orb of energy come from his hand and he was about to attack me and Chemist with it. I quickly got up and tried to block the orb. He shot it at me. It came into contact with my arms. A huge blast happened, blasting into the sky before disappearing. I looked down and I don't see my arms. That attack blew them clean off.

Fox: AAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Chemist: FOXY PIE!!!

I fell down to my knees. I quickly used my power to cover what is left of my arms to keep the blood in.

Growth: I used too much power into that attack. Although it was disappointing. I thought you were supposed to be a strong Hero.

I started to take deep breaths to try to calm myself down, but all the pain I'm in is hard to do that.

Growth: Are you sure you do not wish to surrender? Without your arms, you'll be useless as a Hero. All the pain you two are going through, won't exist after I'm done.

I looked up at Growth. I chuckled to myself, either out of confidence or insanity.

Fox: Useless as a Hero? You want to hear something I told my students once?

Growth: I'm open ears.

Fox: Never underestimate the capabilities of someone.

I quickly put the Adrenaline filled pills into my mouth and swallowed them. I felt the Adrenaline fill my body and I can't feel the pain anymore. I used Void to make myself a pair of arms and I quickly punched Growth in the stomach. He coughed up some saliva and gasped in pain. I smiled to myself.

Fox: You actually felt that... Good.

I quickly punched him in the face, sending him back by a couple yards.

Fox: If you'd like to know, when I usually wrap my Power around my arms, I run the risk of breaking my arms. Since you got rid of my arms, it seems that you've gotten rid of that weakness of mine!

(Readers POV)

Everyone is sitting around, waiting for the bell to ring. Suddenly, shaking can be felt from the floor. I can tell some powerful force went of somewhere nearby.

Student 1: What was that?

Student 2: Some kinda earthquake?

That was weird. What could've caused that? The gym doors open and I saw Principal Beacon walk inside.

Beacon: I do not want to alarm you students, but the school is going into lockdown.

Everyone: Lockdown?!

Beacon: There is a dangerous fight going on in a nearby forest. This is just a safety precaution and it is unlikely to make its way here.

I thought about that. Some kind of fight is happening. That's most likely what caused that shaking. Katie, Dave, and Grace all got near me.

Katie: Is it just me, or should I actually be worried about this.

Dave: Same here, fair maiden. A King can tell when something is about to go wrong.

(Y/N): I do have this feeling that this is something far bigger than it actually seems.

Grace: Same here. I think we should check it out.

Katie: Are you crazy? The teachers wouldn't let us do something like that, especially during a lockdown.

Dave: I do have to agree with her. There's no way we can.

I felt a hand get placed on my shoulder. I looked back and it's Alexandra.

Alexandra: This is something very serious. We are needed, otherwise the very world is in danger.

I can tell she is being 100% serious. Now I need to go. I thought about what to do, but I don't think I could do anything to get out of here.

Grace: I have an idea.

Grace looked around, making sure no one is watching. She took some ink and made a portal. I looked out of it and can see a forest.

Grace: (Y/N), Katie, and Dave. You three go through this portal and I'll stay back here. I can catch up later.

Katie: But what about us not being here? The teachers will immediately come to get us.

Grace smiled and used some more ink, making a clone of me, Katie, and Dave.

Grace: I gotchu covered. Now go quickly, before someone sees.

Dave: I don't think this sculpture captures my proper charms.

Dave said while looking at his fake. Grace sighed and pushed him into the portal. Me and Katie nodded at each other. She jumped through the portal and before I jumped through, Grace gave me a kiss.

Grace: Good luck out there.

(Y/N): Thanks... I'm going to need it.

I jumped through the portal. The portal closed as me, Katie, and Dave are in a forest. We felt another shake from the ground.

Dave: It came from north. Let's get going.

Dave started to head north. I was about to follow, but Katie stopped me.

(Y/N): Hey, what's wrong?

Katie: I... I'm worried for you. I was hoping that today could be a day that we could be together, without something like this happening.

I got close to Katie and wrapped my arms around her in a hug. She hugged me back and rested her head on my chest.

(Y/N): I'm not going anywhere, ever. I'll always be here for you. After all this is over, we can go out and do whatever you'd like to do.

Katie nodded her head and looked up at me.

Katie: Ok, yeah. I would like that a lot. It's a promise, so you better keep your word.

(Y/N): Definitely.

Me and Katie shared a quick kiss together and we broke the hug. We both started to head north.
