(Drake's POV)

I slowly opened my eyes, seeing that I'm staring up at a room's ceiling. I tried to get up, but I felt my body get filled with pain. I let out some groans.

Nurse: Please try to rest.

I looked over and saw a bunch of medical staff looking at me. I noticed that I'm laying on a medical bed.

Nurse: We may have healed your injuries, but your body will still feel the pain for a bit.

Drake: Geez, you couldn't find someone with a numbing Power?

I looked over in the other direction and saw Aurora laying in a medical bed. She grunted and opened her eyes. She looked around and saw me looking at her.

Aurora: Ugh, what happened?

Doctor: You two were dangerously reckless. That's what happened.

Me and Aurora looked over at a male doctor. He pulled out some x rays of my body and Aurora's body. Numerous broken bones and a ton of cracks can be seen from both.

Doctor: Torn up flesh, cracked bones, shattered ribs, broken hands, dislocated jaws. You two were fighting like you were tying to kill each other.

Aurora: Hey, don't judge us on how we fight!

The doctor let out a sigh.

Doctor: What did King teach you kids? You may be "Rivals", but that doesn't mean you have to be barbarians.

Drake and Aurora: If I can't beat her/him then how will I ever surpass my father?!

Me and Aurora looked over at each other when we said that. We both turned away to not look at each other.

Drake: So, you also want to surpass your father?

Aurora: Of course. It's only natural that I do. But where he is compared to where I am, it's not going to happen soon.

Drake: Well you're lucky. Isn't my dad stronger than yours?

Doctor: Stronger than King? Who might your father be?

Crap, I really need to shut my big mouth sometimes. I heard Aurora chuckle for a bit.

Aurora: My father would get so mad if he heard you say that.

I looked over at Aurora. She stared at me and smiled at me. Even if she's my rival... She's still really damn cute! A knocked came from the door before it opened. Everyone looked over and saw that it was my father that is walking in.

(Y/N): Oh, they're both awake. That's good.

He walked over and stood between my bed and Aurora's bed.

(Y/N): Man, you two were going wild out there.

Doctor: You really should take a look at their injuries before we fixed-

Dad put his hand up, making the doctor stop talking.

(Y/N): I'm well aware of the extent they did to each other. It was... An interesting match.

Aurora: Now what does that mean?

(Y/N): I'm just saying, you kids are a lot like your parents is all. I guess that's where you two get it from. A deadly concoction, that's for sure.

He shook his head for a moment while smiling. He turned to look at the doctor.

(Y/N): They are completely healed, yeah?

Doctor: Well they have been physically healed, but they will still feel the pain from the injuries for about half a day-

(Y/N): So it's not perfect?

Doctor: W-Well, i-if you put it like that-!

(Y/N): No, it's fine. They can manage.

I saw him starting to walk away.

Aurora: Hey, Rival!

He stopped and looked back at Aurora.

Aurora: I heard from father once that you can use your energy to heal people.

Drake: Oh yeah, you mind giving us some?

He studied us for a moment before laughing to himself.

(Y/N): You two got all the help you need.

He walked out of the room. Me and Aurora were shocked that he just left. I understand we basically got healed, but he doesn't have to leave us hanging like that. I guess dad really is the tough love type.

(Readers POV)

I walked back into the middle of the stadium and returned to the group of Heroes.

(Y/N): I just checked up on Drake and Aurora. They are perfectly fine. They don't have a single scratch on them.

I said into the earpiece I have in, making my voice go through a bunch of loud speakers that are scattered around the stadium.

(Y/N): Now that we have confirmed their well being, we can move onto the next match-

???: WAAAAAIIIITTTT!!!

Everyone looked over and we all saw an old man running over towards us. I recognized the old man, it's Turbo, the retired speed Hero. He ran up to us, tripping in the process. Davidson caught him with one arm.

Davidson: Calm down. What's wrong?

Turbo is sweating and panting. He looks panicked. He looked up at everyone.

Turbo: Where is that Giovanni kid?!

Katie: Gio? Why do you want to know?

Turbo: It's his Power! It's just like-

A loud crash cut him off. Everyone looked over and saw that something crashed into the arena. A bunch of smoke covered the area. I shot a small beam of energy, blowing away the smoke. When the smoke went away, it revealed a robot girl?

Code: Targets acquired.

She raised her hand and some kind of beeping is heard. Suddenly, a bunch of robots started to fly in from above. Everyone in the seats started to scream. An attack? Now? Who would be bold enough to do this?

Code: Rival. King. Come in peacefully, or everyone here is a hostage.

Davidson: Really now? What makes you think you can?

Code: Because, I have over a decade's worth of data on you two. But I am in need of more.

Davidson: You'll die before you get the chance to do whatever you want.

(Y/N): Well... She's a robot, so is she really alive?

Davidson: Shut up Rival!

Davidson dashed forward at the robot girl as black flames started to come from his body. I saw a bunch of the robots start to fly around, trying to attack everyone. I quickly turned to look back at everyone else.

(Y/N): Girls! Keep everyone safe!

They nodded my head and split off in different directions to stop the robots from attacking the people watching the tournament and the group of students nearby. I dashed over to the main robot girl. She made some kind of purple energy sword from her hand. Davidson readied his trident and slashed down at her. She slashed her sword at Davidson. He flew past at her as the two didn't move for a moment.

(Y/N): Woah, what the?!

Davidson: What's got you confused?

He looked down and saw what I see. His trident his now in two pieces.

Code: This sword can cut through your trident. So it is an energy based weapon.

Davidson smiled as he turned to look back at the robot.

Davidson: So you might be more than a special punching bag!

The robot dashed over at Davidson and tried to slash him with her sword. Davidson dodged the swings. I quickly flew behind the robot girl and kicked her back, sending her away.

Davidson: Hey! Let the King have some fun with his food!

(Y/N): If there wasn't innocent people around, I'd let you go wild.

Davidson: Hmph! Fine! We'll handle this tournament crasher quickly!

The robot girl quickly flew back over towards us. Before she could get close enough to attack, she quickly flew behind us.

(Y/N): Trying a feint attack?

I quickly kicked behind me, connecting with her face. She got sent back and started to spin. Davidson managed to put his trident back into one piece and rushed over at the robot. He slashed her down into the ground and sent a small ball of black flames at her, causing a small explosion of black flames.

Davidson: Hunk of junk.

I heard a set of footsteps getting closer. I looked back and saw Aurora and Drake running towards me.

(Y/N): Oh, what?! Why aren't you two kids resting?!

Drake: You must really not know me to think I would stand idly by!

Aurora: Yeah, we're going to help with whatever this is!

Davidson: Help by getting away! You two are still in pain from your fight! It's plain obvious!

The robot girl dashed out of the black flames and grabbed onto Drake and Aurora's faces and slammed them down into the ground.

Ivy: Drake!

Solana: Aurora!

I saw that Drake and Aurora both got knocked out from that.

Code: If you two don't come with me, these two children will pay for your inaction.

(Y/N): Uh oh.

Code: Rival. Have you now understand the seriousness of your situation.

That's not what I'm worried about. I looked back at Davidson. He stood still in shock, staring at his daughter. His grip on his trident got tighter as he started to shake. His pupils dilated.

(Y/N): He's gonna snap...

Davidson: That's my daughter...

Davidson looked up at the sky and started to scream out. A bunch of black flames came from his body, making a huge pillar of energy that went all the way into the sky. Davidson, with black lightning surrounding him, flew out of the pillar of energy and at the robot with high speed. He kicked the robot off of Aurora and Drake.

Code: King has went through a massive strength increase. Redirecting all available units to him.

Some beeping could be heard as all the other robots went directly at Davidson, he smiled deviously and waited for a bunch robots to surround him. A bunch of slashes started to go all around, cutting the robots in half, then those halves into halves. The pieces kept getting smaller and smaller until they were barely seeable.

Davidson: Take this!

A burst of black fire came from his body, completely disintegrating the cut up pieces. Davidson started to laugh a lot as he dashed over to a robot and grabbed its face. He slammed it down onto the ground and started to blast it with black fire.

Davidson: Are you squirming?! Trying to get away?! Are you fearful to lose that programmed life of yours?!

He picked the robot up and slammed it back down into the ground, causing a bunch of flames to burst out of the robot. All the nearby robots turned to dust from making contact with Davidson's flames.

Code: King is proven to be much more dangerous.

Davidson: Hahahahaha! Proven?! You're damn right I did! Do you really think your outdated data still applies to me?!

Code: Changing protocol. Put down King at all costs.

She dashed over at Davidson and got ready to slash him with her weird energy sword.

Davidson: Unending Armor!

Black ice covered his body and I saw the robot's sword connect with his armor. The sword stayed completely still, not budging an inch forward.

Davidson: I figured out that little sword of yours!

Code: Illogical.

Davidson: For you, perhaps! Your sword, it cuts through energy because it can "eat" through energy. Little do you know, my energy can do the same.

Code: The energy eating are cancelling each other out.

Davidson: Cancelling out? I'm going to make sure you get devoured by the abyss!

A bunch of black energy started to crawl up the purple energy sword and was about to make contact with the rest of the robot. She quickly dashed backward and made her sword disappear. Davidson laughed and jumped forward and stabbed his trident into her body, making small sparks coming from her.

Davidson: Can you get overcharged?!

Black lightning surrounded the trident and started to shock the robot. Davidson yanked his trident out and kicked the robot, making her crash into the wall. Davidson started to charge up an attack, but I got in front of him.

Davidson: The hell are you doing?!

(Y/N): Don't destroy her, not yet.

Davidson: Like hell I will! That bastard will learn what happens to those that hurt my little princess!

(Y/N): She's the only robot here left because of you and she can tell us who made these robots and where.

Code: I... I will never tell you.

(Y/N): Not even if I say pretty please?

Code: ...

Well, it was worth a shot. I crossed my arms.

(Y/N): Go ahead, King.

Davidson: Finally!

He dashed forward, getting ready to finish off the robot. The robot opened her eyes as a bright light covered the entire area. Everyone had to close their eyes to not get blinded. When the light faded, the robot is nowhere to be seen.

Davidson: Damn coward! You don't get to hurt Aurora and just run away!

So she got away. At least it can make a trail on who tried attack us. I looked around, seeing the students and the civilians are concerned. Before I need to do anything, I need to do something first.

(Y/N): This tournament is canceled.
