Chapter 101: Start Of The Greatest Tournament

(Aurora's POV)

Everyone in my class walked into Combat Class. I saw father standing still. I got a closer look and noticed his eyes are closed. Did... Did he really fall asleep while standing? Everyone sat down at their seats. The bell started to ring, making father open his eyes.

Davidson: Class time already?

I heard him mumble to himself.

Davidson: Listen up class! I'm sure you all knew this was coming, but I will make sure you all know just how important it is! The Heritage Tournament starts in a week!

Student: The Heritage Tournament?

Mel: It's a yearly tournament that is held near the beginning of each school year. People from all around the world gather in person or watch the event on television. It's for the public to see just what upcoming Heroes can do and what they should expect.

Davidson: You make my job easy. Thank you for the history lesson! I want you all to give it your absolute best in this tournament!

Drake: You already know I will! I'll win the damn thing!

Davidson: It's not just about winning! It's about showing off your best and really showing villains that they're screwed! Get the message across to everyone! I will be training you all to the bone for this!

I saw black energy start to leak from father's body. It looks like he's excited just to see the tournament happen.

Aurora: That's a cute declaration, Drake. But everyone knows that I will be victorious. It's ok to be second place sometimes.

Drake looked over at me. I am his rival, so I must play the part. He smirked at me as he let out a small huff, a small red flame coming from it.

Drake: I'd love to see you fight me during the finals! I won't accept fighting my rival at any other point in this tournament!

Aurora: The feelings are mutual.

Davidson: Now everyone! Let our sparring begin!

(Davidson's POV) (Time Skip)

I heard the final bell of the day ring, meaning school is over. I thought about this up coming tournament. The tournament.

Davidson: I remember my first tournament... That was the day me and Rival's Powers Leveled Up for the first time. I suspect that fate has similar plans for this year's tournament.

It is just speculation on my part, but I do think most students will break through their limits there. My thoughts got interrupted by my phone ringing. I took out my phone and saw it was Solana calling me. I answered the phone and put it up to my ear.

Davidson: Yes wife? Do you need something?

Solana: I was just calling to see how your day was.

Davidson: It went fine. This talk couldn't have waited until dinner?

Solana: Since when was it a crime to check up on my husband?

Davidson: Its not, it's just different from what you usually do.

Solana: Oh, you caught me. This call is for something important.

Davidson: And that would be...?

Solana: ...I ran out of wine. Could you get some on your way back home?

Davidson: I'm a Hero, not some wine delivery service!

Solana: Pretty please? You'd be my Hero if you brought me some more.

Davidson: ...

Solana: You wouldn't leave your beautiful wife sad, right?

Davidson: ...You know how to push my buttons...

Solana: It's my specialty.

Davidson: Alright, what brand do you want?

Solana: I get to choose?! Someone is in a good mood!

I heard Solana start to talk to herself about a ton of different brands of wine that I don't know or understand. I felt a drop of sweat come from my forehead. I slowly brought the phone away from my ear and hung up. I put my phone in my pocket.

Davidson: Geez... How does Rival deal with 5 wives?

I quickly left the school building and went into the city. Great, where is the nearest store with wine again?

(1 Week Later) (Aurora's POV)

Everyone is on a bus, heading towards the stadium that the tournament will be held at.

Student 1: This tournament is really getting on my nerves.

Student 2: No need to sweat it bro, it's just friendly competition.

That's where they are wrong. It may seem like just some friendly sparring to an outsider, but we need to fight like we mean it. To show people that we will become great Heroes. I felt a tap on my shoulder, making me look over. I saw Drake leaning over his seat to reach me as he was the one tapping me.

Drake: I hope you haven't been slacking on that training of yours.

Aurora: I haven't been. I hope you have been keeping up with yours as well.

Drake: Keeping up? I've been surpassing them! Were you able to work out some of those weaknesses of yours?

Asking about my weaknesses? Is he implying that he has got rid of his own?

Drake: Because, I haven't had any luck yet with mine.

I let out a small sigh. I should've known. He may have great potential, but it would be impossible for someone to erase their weaknesses in a week.

Aurora: I haven't myself. However I do have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Drake: A game plan? I've been cooking one up myself. Of course, it's classified info, so good luck trying to get me to crack.

Aurora: I'm sure I could get you to "crack".

Drake: Pfft! If it's from laughter, maybe.

Aurora: I inherited my mother's charms, and she was able to wed King after all.

I gave a small smile and winked at Drake, making him look at me puzzled in silence for a moment. He broke the silence with laughter.

Drake: Ahahaha! Sorry, but I can't get seduced! I'm too cool for that!

Minerva: More like you're too stupid to get a girlfriend!

Drake looked back at the seat behind him to look back at Minerva. She giggled before sticking her tongue out at him.

Drake: Either shut your mouth or take that back!

Minerva: What about neither?

Drake: Then I hope you are my first opponent in this tournament!

Horace: It's true though. You don't have a good track record with women. Remember your last relation-

Drake turned his head over to look at Horace, who is sitting next to Minerva, and Drake huffed out some red flames. Horace turned his head the other way and tightened his hoodie. Mel who was sitting at the seat in front of me turned back and let out a cough. Drake froze for a moment before sitting back down, grumbling to himself.

Aurora: My big bad rival is scared of a girl?

I said to him in a teasing voice. Drake just started to grumble more.

Drake: You'd be scared of Mel too if you lived with her.

I decided to leave him alone, seeing that he clearly has enough on his mind already. I looked out of the window, ready to fight in this tournament. Soon after the bus stopped and we are at the stadium where the tournament is going to be held. All the students walked out of the bus and started to walk towards the stadium. I saw a decently sized group of people standing in front of the stadium holding up signs that says stuff like "Stop this!", "No more kids fighting!", and "This is abuse!"

Drake: The bell are those guys doing?

Mel: They seem to be protesting. Some people around 20 years ago have started to go against Heroes, saying they are more dangerous than helpful. They want Heroes to no longer be able to do their jobs. It's best to not let them bother us.

The students walked into the stadium. I know some people have been against Heroes. But to think it's up to this point.

(Readers POV)

I walked into a room at the stadium where the tournament is going to start. I saw Davidson, Solana, Katie, Ivy, Grace, Isabelle, and Ashley all sitting around. They looked over at me.

Katie: Hi honey!

Ivy: Glad to see you actually made it on time.

(Y/N): What do you mean? I'm always on time.

Isabelle: With a couple of close calls. Like how you almost missed your interview about a week ago.

(Y/N): Crap, you girls always do your research.

I walked over to Davidson, who was looking over a clipboard with a piece of paper attached to it.

(Y/N): So what are you looking over?

Davidson: Just looking over the order of matches.

I looked at the piece of paper and noticed that it is arranged in a specific way.

(Y/N): Oh, I see what you're doing. Since you assigned all the students with rivals, you made it to where a student will fight their rival in the second match if they both win their matches.

Davidson: Exactly. I want them to put everything they got into their first matches. I want them to put everything through the entire tournament, but most people watching online usually only watch the first matches anyway.

(Y/N): So how has their training been?

Davidson: I've been making sure it has been hell. And I've heard they have been training outside of class too.

Ashley: That's right. My daughter, Amy, has been training with my father for this.

(Y/N): Growth can still get his hands dirty?

Ashley: He does complain about his back sometimes, but he's still strong.

Ivy: Amy might have been training with Growth, but I made sure Drake is ready for anything!

Solana: My Aurora will definitely win this tournament. She's my daughter after all.

Grace: You're joking right? Minerva's Power is way better than Aurora's! She'll win!

Isabelle: Horace isn't a slouch. I'm confident in his abilities.

Katie: I don't like to boast, but Mel has been working hard on all of her Powers.

Me and Davidson looked at each other. We heard the girls start to argue which one of their kids is going to win. A bead of sweat came down from both of our heads.

Davidson: Alright!

Everyone went quiet and looked over at Davidson.

Davidson: The tournament is about to start. If you want to be there to commentate on the matches, then we better get going.

Davidson and Solana stood and were about to leave the room.

Katie: You two go ahead. Us girls want to have a quick conversation with our husband.

Solana: Alright. Just don't cry when we start the tournament without you all.

Davidson and Solana left the room, closing the door behind them. I turned back to look at my five wives.

(Y/N): So what do you all want to talk about?

They all got up and stood in front of me. They all have the same, innocent looking smile on their face. That... That isn't a good sign.

Katie: Since we are all here...

Ivy: We figured it would be a good time...

Grace: To talk about what you did...

(Y/N): Hehe... Ok, what did I do?

Ashley: Do you remember that interview you did a week ago?

(Y/N): Well yeah, what's so special about it-

I remembered what I did during that interview, saying that I don't really love anyone, letting that nice woman feel my abs, and her insinuating that me and Amethyst are dating. I put my hands up in defense.

(Y/N): Now let's not do anything we might regret! We can talk about this!

Isabelle: "Not do anything we won't regret"? You didn't seem to think that during that interview.

They all got a mad look on their face. I gulped, not knowing the horrors that await me.

(Davidson's POV)

Me and Solana are walking down a hallway. I looked back and didn't see anyone behind us.

Davidson: The hell is taking them so long?

(Y/N): Let's talk about this! LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!!!

I heard (Y/N) shouting before a really loud thud noise. I felt the ground shake slightly and it quickly stopped. I looked and saw the door to the room everyone else was in open up. Katie, Ivy, Ashley, Isabelle, and Grace walked out of the room. They all have their arms crossed and huffing. They walked past me and Solana without saying a single word. I looked back and saw (Y/N) crawling on the ground with five huge bumps on his head.

Davidson: Geez... Having five wives must be hell.

Solana: Then it's a good thing you have a full package of a wife!

(Readers POV)

I let out a small groan as I stood up. I held my head from the pain. The girls have definitely gotten stronger the last time I saw them.

(Y/N): Gah... I did kind of deserve that... All things considered.

???: (Y/N). I hope I didn't catch you at a bad time.

I heard a feminine voice behind me. I looked back and I saw Brooklyn walking towards me.

(Y/N): Brooklyn!

Brooklyn: I hope I didn't show up too early or something.

(Y/N): You're fine. I'm glad to see you showed up, but why did you show up?

Brooklyn: Well... I wanted to see everyone in one place and this was a good opportunity.

(Y/N): That's very nice of you, I just figured being in a place with Heroes... Would be a bit tough for you.

Brooklyn: Oh, that... I don't mind it... Not as much as I used to...

(Y/N): Got it. I have to get going. I'll see you after the tournament ends.

Brooklyn nodded her head as I walked away, heading towards the center of the stadium, where the arena for the tournament is.
