Bucky

The only way Blue was allowed out of her cell, was if she was handcuffed. We both know she could break the cuffs if she wanted to but I think she wanted out of the cell.

"Are you hungry?" Steve asked as she sat down at the breakfast bar.

"Have you poisoned it?" She asked.

"No,"

"I don't trust you," Blue said staring at him, "I trust Bucky,"

"You can trust him," I said and she shook her head, "Why not?"

"Because you understand my pain. He...no. I don't trust him," She said quietly.

"Buck, it's ok," Steve said, "I wouldn't trust my cooking either,"

"What did you want to eat?" I asked and she shrugged.

"The pasta was nice,"

"I can do that again. Can Steve sit with you?"

"Yeah,"

Steve took my seat as I started cooking for her. I could see him looking at her every now and then and his eyes kept drifting to her metal arm that she had covered up.

Her bright blue eyes had become dull and I was missing the fire behind them.

"Oh," Nat said walking into the kitchen, "We were going to order pizza,"

I shrugged, "Blue wanted pasta,"

"How are you feeling?" Nat asked and Blue shrugged, "Did you want to get some fresh air? I'm going to the roof,"

"No," Blue said, "Only if Bucky comes,"

"I see," Nat said with a smirk, "Then we can always go after everyone eats?"

"Ok,"

"When I said she could come out of the cell," Tony said walking towards us, "I didn't mean she can come here. She is still-"

"Shut up, Tony," Steve said, "She isn't going to do anything,"

"You're only saying that because you love her,"

"So fucking what?" Steve said getting to his feet and blocking her from view, "I'm not trying to get with her. I'm trying to gain her trust. She trusts Bucky. Blue has been through trauma so just leave it,"

"Well, I can't. Blue, you need to go back to the lab," He said, "Bruce has his results,"

"After she eats," I said.

"No, right now,"

"Bucky, it's ok," Blue said pulling the cuffs apart with ease, "Listen, metal dude, I could have killed every single person in the building by now but I didn't. I promised Bucky I would behave but you are pissing me off. I don't like you,"

"I'm liking her more and more," Nat said, "I'll walk with you to the lab. I want to talk to Bruce anyway,"

Blue got to her feet and came straight to my side, her hand holding onto the bottom of my shirt. My heart leapt around my chest at how cute the gesture was and I resisted the urge to pull her into my arms and hold her tightly.

Bruce smiled at Blue when we walked into his lab and he patted the chair for her. Blue looked at me and I nodded. She dropped onto the seat and pulled her sleeve lower to hide her hand.

"So I have good and bad news," Bruce said, "Good news is that your mind hasn't been too badly damaged. Wanda might be able to get some of your memories back but I can't guarantee that everything will return,"

"And the bad?" I asked.

Bruce took his glasses off, "I can't make a human arm,"

Blue smiled slightly at this, "Can I change it?"

"What do you mean?" Nat asked.

"I want one like Bucky's," She said playing with my metal finger, "I like the look of his. I hate mine,"

"I can talk to Shuri. She won't mind," I said, "She might enjoy a new project,"

"Nat, can you leave us for a minute, please? I will talk to you as soon as I'm done," Bruce said.

Nat nodded, "If you ever need female company, then ask Bucky to show you my room,"

Once Nat left I sat down waiting for Bruce to talk.

"Do you remember anything from before you woke up with a metal arm?"

"A little bit. I remember my parents and how they were taken from me. A little bit of when I escaped and someone called Aiden. But not much," Blue said, linking her metal fingers with mine, "I feel like I know Bucky. I don't know what it is but there is something there,"

"Do you have any memory of what Hydra did to you the first time they took you?" He asked, "I know I'm asking personal questions but you might be able to answer something I've been needing to know,"

Blue nodded, "They experimented on me. I was made to do tasks and if I didn't complete them, they'd punish me. They enjoyed me failing because then they would see how fast I healed,"

"Anything else? What they did...inside your body?"

Blue clutched my hand tightly, "They made sure I was unable to have children. The doctor performed a hysterectomy,"

I grit my teeth and looked at Bruce who shook his head.

"They lied to you,"

"What?" She said her eyes snapping to his.

"Blue, they lied to you. No doctor has ever performed a hysterectomy on you," He said and pulled a piece of paper out, "When we have you the full body scan, I saw something that didn't look right. I remember Bucky saying that you were unable to have children and I saw this,"

"What does this mean?"

"It means, that when you are ready you can have children,"

"I don't understand," I said.

"They tied her tubes to stop her from getting pregnant. I'm not sure why, but it can be reversed," Bruce said, "Blue, I want you to trust me. I will never lie to you and I have kept a very big secret from everyone in this building and in my life. I've lied to Tony to protect you,"

"Why?" She asked, "Why would you do that?"

"Because you've had a hard life and obviously didn't want everyone knowing who you were. I understand that," He said, "I know your name. Your real name. I was just wondering if you remembered it,"

I looked at Blue who had tears in her eyes, "Hey, it's ok. You can trust Bruce,"

"Yeah," She said quickly wiping her tears away, "I remember my name,"

"I'll tell Wanda that when you're ready, she can get some memories back," Bruce said, "Until then, I have no need to run tests. I've done all I can and you can always come back to visit me,"

"May I go now?" Blue asked.

"Of course," Bruce said, "Can you send Nat back please?"

"Thank you, Bruce," I said, leading Blue out of the room still holding her hand.

"Thank you," Blue said quietly, "For not leaving me,"

"I'll never leave you again," I said, "What did you want to do?"

"Sleep in a comfortable bed without someone coming in to stare at me every 5 minutes,"
