Chapter One.

~°~

America got to the world meeting late, as always. "The Hero has arrived!"

"Late, again," England muttered, but America paid him no mind as he sat in his spot at the table.

When it was America's turn to present, he started saying something about a super hero or something. The idea was (obviously) immediately shut down by the other nations (except Japan). Not that it was really what America thought that they should do, but they probably wouldn't listen to him anyway.

America went back to his seat after presenting or whatever (Germany had to stop a fight that had started). He started listening to the next nation presenting before there was a loud crash!

Broken glass littered the ground near the window, and luckily, none of the nations had been hit by any broken glass.

Actually, some glass managed to scrape America. He had two shallow cuts on his face that were bleeding, but not too bad.

"Why the-" America suddenly stopped, seeing what (or rather, whom) had caused the window to shatter. America was immediately by the person's side, tending to their wounds from the broken glass.

"I thought I told you to stay at home," America muttered as he tended to the boy's wounds.

"I wanted to," the boy replied, wincing slightly as America gently pulled a piece of glass from his cheek. "But they were trying to blow stuff up in the backyard again. They did the calculations wrong. It exploded when I tried to deactivate it."

America just sighed.

"Thanks for trying to keep them out of trouble, Del," America said.

"You're welcome," the kid replied.

There was a silence as America sat next to the kid, pulling out glass and fixing the wounds.

"What is even going on?" Asked one of the nations.

America suddenly froze, as did the kid. America cursed under his breath.

He finished up tending to the last wound on the kid before facing everyone.

He gave a big smile. "Del, meet the nations. Nations, meet my son, Delaware."

Then, America mentally braced himself for the questions that would surely be thrown his way.

And he was not disappointed.

"You're son?" Was the first question. It was from England.

"Not exactly," America said. "I found him, just like you found me. Technically he's one of my younger brothers. But I think of them more as my children, and I've pretty much taken care of them."

"You have more than one?" Another nation observed.

"Duh," America said. "When I saw sixty five kids all alone, how could I not have taken them in? I am the hero!"

The kid started to say something. "But wasn't there-" America put his hand over his son's mouth.

"No."

The kid decided to just nod and drop the matter. So did everyone else, apparently. They decided to ask about something other than what America's son had just said.

"Sixty five kids?" Someone asked.

"About that," America said. "Delaware is here. Then there's all the other states, territories, and DC."

Everyone was speechless.

"Which state is this one?" Someone asked. (Sorry, I just can't tink of who would say what. I'm doing this at night, so. . . .)

"I'm Delaware," said Delaware.

(A/N Ugh. America literally told you that a few paragraphs ago.)

"Yes," America smiled. "The first state."

"But why's he. . ." the nation trailed off.

"Why am I so small?" Finished Delaware. The nation nodded. "I'm the second smallest state. Rho is the smallest state. It's hard for us though. People didn't believe us at first. But we really are states!"

A few of the smaller nations nodded in agreement and understanding.

"They're all teenagers though," America said. "I don't know why. Maybe it's just so that it goes along with the plot line of the story."

"Makes sense."

"Anyway. . ."

"Why did you want to keep us secret, dad?" Asked Delaware. The nations and Delaware were all watching America expectantly.

America sighed. "For the same reason England did what he did. I just did it a bit differently."

(A/N You go, America! Skillfully direct the conversation to someone else. XD)

"What do you mean?" A nation asked.

England was the one who answered. "All those taxes and stuff I placed on the colonies and the reason ah actually fought back was because. . ."

"We're selfish idi***?" America suggested. England glared at America slightly, but just sighed and nodded.

"Not the way I would put it," England muttered, "but it's true."

Everyone just stared at England and America, completely confused and clueless on what was happening.

America looked down at Delaware. "We'll talk more about his later, Del," he told his son. "Okay?"

There was an odd edge to his voice, and the nations were surprised to hear it. Delaware didn't dare question it, and he agreed.

So, there's the first chapter of my first ever Hetalia fanfiction. It will get better later on don't worry.

And the chapters will be longer. I would be thankful if anyone PMs me any ideas for this story or one of my other ones, please and thank you.
