Portal: The little Phoenix (1/2)
Grian let out a laugh as he blasted though the hidden tag ring with Ren on his tail. He turned around and sticked out his tongue at the man.
That's when their communicators went off.
Both man paused and turned around to look at each other. Grian shrugged and landed on the nearby ground gracefully. Ren sighed and landed near Grian. Their flying competition can wait. The man both took out their communicators and paused at the message.
<XisumaVoid> Guys, meet up at the spawn portal. There's something weird about it.
<Grian> On my way
~A woman with light blue hair was writing something, you peak over their shoulder and saw the words 'Timeskip'~
Ren and Grian ended up being the last to arrive at the spawn portal. All the other hermits were gathered around the portal each of them were confused.
The scene sparked Grian's curiosity, he walked towards the gathered hermits.
"Yo, what's going on?", Ren asked confused as he walked towards the group. Xisuma looked up at him before telling the group to back up. He looked at the man once again and gestured towards the portal.
"Look at it yourself," Xisuma answered cryptically. Ren tilted his head like a confused dog at Xisuma. He turned towards the portal and his eyes widened.
Instead of the usual obsidian and purple swirling portal, the obsidian had color-changing liquid running in between the little space in between the obsidian rocks that makes up the block. In front of the portal, there were five redstone lamps with a wooden pleasure plate in the front of each. A chest stands majestically in front of the whole mess. The portal wasn't even on.
"What the–?!", Ren exclaimed stumbling backwards at the scene. The surprise on his face as clear as day. "Same man," Doc nodded still observing the scene before him.
"How did it even–?!", Ren questioned still staring at the scene in shock. Grian, with little sense of his safety, stepped forward and opened the chest. Almost immediately, every hermits were screaming at Grian about how the chest could be trapped.
Grian stood up with a book and quill in his hand. He closed the chest and smirked at everybody. He waved the book in the air with a smirk.
"Look what I got!", Grian exclaimed opening the book and quill. Every hermits stared at Grian dumbfounded while he read the book.
"Well?", Mumbo asked once Grian closed the book. "Is it from your Watcher friends? Because this isn't funny", Iskall questioned unamused, remembering all the pranks Grian's two Watcher friends pulled.
Grian frowned, he turned towards his fellow hermits who were now panicking silently at Grian's expression.
"Well, it's definitely a work of a Watcher," Grian answered, he casted a glance at the portal behind him. "but..."
"But?", Stress asked worry lanced in her voice. "It's not from Ana or Daniel," Grian continued, turning back towards the hermits. "They don't bother with poetry," Grian stated as he furrowed his brows worryingly.
"WHAT?!", pretty much every hermit screamed out with widened eyes. Grian nodded, still processing the information himself. "HOW?!", Xisuma asked, his fear and worry as clear as day.
To which Grian responded by sending him an unamused look. "Oh, I don't know," He sassed. "All Watchers can world hop without permission but that can't possibly mean a Watcher would do that," Grian replied sarcastically. Xisuma groaned, his face blushing with embarrassment, "Right. Right. Don't sass me, g r ian. That was a stupid question, I get it.".
Grian sticked our his tongue at Xisuma. A hermit snickered at the interaction he just witnessed. "Yo Joe!", Grian called out towards the father. The man walked forwards as Grian handed out the book to him, "Mind translating this please?".
The father rolled his eyes with a small smile on his face. He took the book from Grian and read it out loud for everyone to hear.
"The little Phoenix chirped and chirped,
On his human's arms he stood.
The little Phoenix sang and sang,
His human smiled with love.
Then a little rabbit came,
He jumped widely.
Infecting the little Phoenix,
That turned feral.
The Phoenix screeched,
Destruction in his path.
Many were attracted,
But never got closed.
Two humans found him,
He'll screech at them.
But they never fled,
From the little Phoenix.
The Phoenix grew calm,
The wildness tamed.
The humans grew fond,
Of their little Phoenix.
While the Phoenix flew,
He encountered a group.
They bonded quite fast,
Soon from strangers to friends.
The Phoenix stood still,
Curiosity flying in him.
He landed on the plate,
Standing right in the middle.
The red flames bursted,
Surrounding the Phoenix.
That shade of red,
Is the shade of the Sky's Eyes."
Silent filled the group as they think about the poem. Joe cleared his throat, catching everyone's attention. They turned towards him with a raised brow. The man gestured to the pleasure plate in the middle.
"I think Grian's suppose to stand on that pleasure plate like there," Joe grinned awkwardly. Grian shrugged and went to stand on the pleasure plate in the middle. Immediately like the poem, red flames bursted into life. The flames surrounding Grian and the portal.
The hermits stared with widened eyes at the scene. Doc was the first to break out of the trance and turned towards Joe.
"JOE! KEEP READING THAT FUCKING BOOK!"
