Chapter 4: Hermit Hunt (Part 2)

I really am sorry if this looks a bit rushed. I had schedule to keep up so I didn't had time to make it even longer.

But let me just say.... Goodness me I can't wait till I start writing more about Joe as a kid, my heart-

--Keralis’ POV--

I passed by my construction area and landed in front of Vintage Kebab’s cozy villa. Honestly the idea of a baby Kebab excited me. The advantage I have of expanding my base while the Kebab is a kid, I love it! But… Just in case he wasn't turned into a kid, I yelled, “Oh Vintage Kebab! Are you hom-”

*CRASH*

I was interrupted by the voices and crashing that played out inside the villa. I sighed sadly once I heard the familiar voice of the one and only ‘Llama dad’, it looks like there will be no baby Vintage Kebab, sad… The faint cries of Beef echoed through the walls as each time he screamed, “NO”, the sound of an object falling would follow. I was curious, but mostly concerned.

I walked my way up to the entrance, and took a little peek behind the pillar to see what was going in there. Alas there was a panicked and angry Vintage Kebab, chasing after… A kid! The kid, with white silver hair and basically wore a ninja suit, naruto ran all over the place, bumping into shulker boxes after shulker boxes till one of them tilted over and spilled an overwhelming amount of black concrete.

“My black concrete! I was using that!”

The little ninja, now covered in amounts of black dust, giggled cheekily and ran back to the opposite direction. Beef shook his head in disappointment and said, “Could things get anything worse than this?”

“Aww hi Kebab!” I hopped out from my hiding place.

The hermit groaned to his annoyance, and shot me a glare. “Keralis what are you doing here? “ he asked quite rudely.

“Aww don't be mean to me Kebab, after all I was considering adopting you if you ever turned into a baby.”

Beef scoffed, pushing my shoulder lightly as a joke. “Unfortunately you are the only person who can help me with this little problem-”

“AWW HI LITTLE ETHO!!” I lifted up the little ninja before his tiny legs would try to escape me. The young Etho pouted, but he melted into my embrace, all of his energy from running finally died down for a bit.

“H-How on earth did you catch him?!”

--Cleo’s POV--

After a proper agreement that I would take care of the young hermits while Zedaph helps the others find more young hermits, I watched young Tango, Xisuma, and Joe play while Bdubs still lazed in my arms. It actually wasn't too difficult watching these kids, they were just as active and crazy as their adult versions, but they were quite behaved. Young Joe somehow took the role as their big brother and assisted the two with whatever the little poet can help with.

“I'll help you Auntie Cleo!” he says.

He's making it way too difficult for me to break his legs without feeling conflicted damit-

“CLEO!! I NEED YOUR HELP!!”

A british voice crying out for my name was heard, I turned my head and took notice of the dirty blonde brit, carrying not one but two kids in his arms. One was a young female blonde, with a blue green colored jacket, and her goggles jumping up down from her tiny head. And the other young brunette, with tattered red polo and blue jeans, his blue shades hung on his head.

Grian took a deep breath before he started to hesitate with his words, but usually he always had the words to describe how he felt. “Cleo I- Uhh!? These two just- POOF!! Children!” He stuttered.

“Hi Uncle Grian!” young Tango came running in and waved at the panicked brit. Grian’s cheeks turned a bit pink the moment he heard the little greeting, but now he looked petrified. “What the-”

“Zedaph will explain the situation later, for now he's on the hunt for more baby hermits,” I explained.

Grian still looked confused, but silently nodded as if he just accepted the current situation. Like it wasn't the first weird thing he's seen since season 6 right? Right?...

“Uncle Grian, can I go down now?” young Ren asked. He and False slowly wiggled their way from his grasp before Tango started dragging the two to the others. Grian kept giving me this ‘Wtf’ look, probably questioning how I'm okay with this… Or is it because I'm holding a young Bdubs.

“Ohh? More friends!” Joe exclaims with his hands clasping together. “Wanna play in our pancake shop?” the young admin suggested.

“But I don't have money..” young False pouted, smiling sadly to herself.

Ren placed his little hand on False’s shoulder and said, “I have money. We can share the pancakes together!” He waved a shiny blue rock in his other hand.

“Wait just one sec- THAT'S MY DIAMOND!!” Grian exclaimed.

“Hehehe~”

It was an hour later after Grian kept chasing Ren all over the town hall. The two finally worn themselves out and rested on the diamond tree, with Ren snoozing on his lap and Grian’s hand supporting Ren’s head from leaning too far. The young hermits were really considerate when they agreed to keep their voices down without me telling them to.

Wels came earlier to drop Mumbo off and went back to searching for more hermits. And as usual, the young hermits welcomed him with open arms.

“Here, a pancake seesaw. So you can deliver your pancakes very fast,” young Mumbo grinned. Apparently he still has his redstone side of him, no redstone involved, but he's still interested in making contraptions. Xisuma stacked his pancakes [rock] on the seesaw and aimed it at the little blonde female. “Pancake go!” he yelled. The rock went flying mid-air, accidentally hitting False’s head instead.

“Oww!” The young blonde winced. She closed her eyes shut, curling near the ground, near the verge of tears.

“Xisuma!? Please do not throw rocks at False!” I exclaimed as I came rushing  to False’s aid. Young Xisuma’s face was riddled in guilt, and panic. Probably out of pure guilt, he suddenly started running away from us. “Wait Xisuma-” I tried calling out till a small hand stopped me from going after him.

“I will go get him!” Young Joe insisted, then started running after the young admin.

Joe really is taking this whole big brother thing seriously...

I felt a relief when I found no signs of a bump on her head. I pulled Falsey to a quick hug, holding Bdubs in one arm and holding False in another arm. “You okay?” I whispered softly.

False sniffed a bit, but immediately rubbed her eyes before giving me a reassuring smile. “Yes Auntie Cleo,” She mumbles.

Tango being the little sweetheart that he is, brought himself onto my lap and pulled False into another hug. False giggled and happily accepted it.

Mumbo being Mumbo, glared at his own contraption, and gave it a little kick until the seesaw fell into broken parts.

“Bad seesaw, no hurting friends!” he hissed at his own creation.

Joe came back with a warm smile, holding Xisuma’s hand tightly, who bowed his head in shame. Part of me felt bad for yelling at Xisuma like that, after all he never intended to hurt her in the first place. “Look X, sorry for yelling at you. Just next time don't throw stuff at people okay?” I asked softly.

He nodded his head, but he still kept his head low. Young Joe placed both hands on Xisuma’s shoulders, and whispered, “Come on Xisuma, give the thing to False.”

Xisuma’s little hands trembled as he slowly revealed a red lily, and gave it to the young female. “S-Sorry.. False, for hurting you,” he muttered. He ducked his head even lower than his shoulders, anxious of what was gonna happen to him.

But False’s face lightened up, her smile was wider than before. Before she accepted the flower, she pulled her little MCC crown on her head and rested it on top of Xisuma’s. It caught the little admin by surprise. “It's okay X, I'm not hurt anymore.!” She said happily.

Tango came crashing the two to another hug again and let out a heartfelt laugh. “We're friends again!” he exclaimed, both Xisuma and False laughed along with him. I carefully lifted Bdubs with my two arms and smiled as I watched the scene unfold.

“Hey guys! I made another redstone thingy- majik-”

“NO!” Xisuma and False yelled in sync, scared of a thought for another contraption that will hurt them again. Mumbo huffed, walking away from the group, carrying a small plank of wood that was used for the seesaw. “Meanies…”

Mumbo approached the two forgotten, sleeping hermits quietly. He took the end of the plank and started producing air by fanning at the two hermits with his plank. “Now Ren and Uncle Grian won't be hot!” He whispered proudly.

God these kids are just as active and sweet as their adult versions.

--Hypno’s POV--

After wrapping up a few projects of mine, I held my Deck out key quite excitedly and skipped down the steps of Dec out. Once I entered the dark and creepy chamber, I reminded myself to take off my armour before playing and bounced my way to the door. I expected to be frightened when entering this game, but no. Near the trap door, was a small figure, staring anxiously at the door.

Wait… Since when did the server have kids in it?

The child noticed my presence, but his expression didn't change. He looked like he was just crying, his face screamed horror and worry. “Uncle Hypno?...” He muttered, before launching himself to my body and started sobbing. Wh-a he's crying? And he knows me!?! And do I know him!?”...

But wait… He actually looked familiar, he looked like a certain hermit he knew. He had grey hair, quite an unusual color for a child, white lab coat, with a few golden accessories, and a big pharaoh hat that tried to cover his teary eyes. Now wait just one second….. Cub!?

But how is that impossible!?

“S-Scary mo-onste-r, tr-ied to get u-s..” The young pharaoh hiccuped.

A monster?... Well the only scary monster I could think of was the ravage, after all this Deck out. But for a kid, that would honestly sound terrifying. “It's okay… Cub? There's no more scary monster. I promise,” I reassured the young hermit. I leaned closer to his level and ruffled his gray hair. Okay, Cub with hair but no beard is quite unexpected, actually finding him as a  child was very unexpected. But I must admit, he's just gosh darn cute as a baby, why oh why is the universe being so kind to me today?

“But-.. Imp-ulse.. Is in-” he pointed his finger at the beginning of the game. Impulse is in there? Playing? I mean Deck out has its scary moments, and I'm saying this from experience. If Impulse’s in there and is having a terrifyingly fun experience with the ravagers, then there's really nothing to worry about!...

…….

“Hey Cub,” I squeezed his little hand, locking eyes to the crying child. “Is Impulse small?”

Young Cub took a few hiccups before he slowly nodded his shakened up head. My heart stopped beating, and my eyes widened. If Impulse is possibly a young kid, in deck out, alone, and in danger… I swiftly scooped Cub and carried him to the afk throne. I sat him down, and said, “Cub, stay here and wait for me. I'll go find Impulse, okay?” The young pharoah nodded.

I retrieved my armour from my inventory, and hastily took out my pickaxe as I breaked into the game. I sent a quick message in chat, not even bothering reading  the extra messages, and started running through the dungeon.

Tango, if I accidentally break your game, I'm sorry.
