Quick lighthearted warning: This is the most filler chapter I ever wrote- 

I kid you not- this chapter was something I randomly made to pass the time. Mostly based on an actual random roleplay I did with my sister a very long time ago. 

So this chapter was basically me recalling these memories of this weird roleplay we did. Lol 👏

" Next patient please!" Young False called out from behind her pretend desk [chest].

Ren came hopping in, with one leg hiding behind him. "Help! I don't have a leg! I need a doctor!"

Just then, Cub came out of nowhere, with a white lab coat. " I'm a doctor. I will bring your leg back." Ren yelps to the floor as Cub yanks the hidden leg and forcefully puts it on the floor. " All better!"

" Thank you, doctor! I am aliveeeee! " He then sprints away with his 'newly healed leg'. 

Keralis wondered how he and Pearl somehow started their own medical drama, but he guessed he should summarize it back to the beginning.

Basically Cleo's off duty once again, which left Keralis and Pearl to handle the daycare for the whole day. Honestly, a bad decision. Too many unsanitary jokes to share together, might even influence the kids. As they joked about, Cub came in with a white, fresh, lab coat. One he got from Grian’s donated costumes. Obviously the kids all gathered around the young hermit to marvel at his stunning and 'serious' appearance. So they all happily agreed to play doctor! 

Keralis decided to play nurse, while poor, unfortunate Pearl ended up with the role as their 'attempted murder' patient.. He must say, the kids have some disturbingly interesting ideas, and they don't even know what 'attempted murder' actually is! It's just that the way described her case sounded like attempted murder. 

" Don't worry, Auntie Pearl." Young XB reassured, also wearing a doctor's coat just like Cub's.

" After we get the sword from your heart, you will be fine." 

"Ohh. Thank you~" Pearl mumbles dramatically, lying awkwardly on the wooden floor with a wooden sword between her armpits, staining her shirt with a bit of red healing potion as her blood. She looked way too hooked in the roleplay.. 

" I found out who hurt Auntie Pearl!" Young Iskall came bursting in, dragging the poor ninja into the scene. 

Oh yeah. Did Keralis forget to mention that Iskall and Jevin were playing police too? 

Everyone gasps dramatically. They all shared betrayed looks as they stared at the culprit in Iskall's grasp. "Etho! My brother! You tried to hurt Auntie Pearl?!" XB cried out. 

" How could you, Etho!?" Pearl cried out too. " I gave you the wrong story book, one mistake, and you decided to stab me!" 

True story, actually. Minus the stabbing- 

Etho stared blankly at them before Iskall and Jevin roughly dragged him to the dungeon [the pile of books. Because school is a prison-] Nahhhh. Keralis was only kidding. School is important, kids. 

XB cried crocodile tears- or at least they hoped it was crocodile tears. Pearl stopped her role playing for a good second to check on the young hermit. Meanwhile, 'Doctor Cub' came to the scene, leading young Gemini and the unnamed chicken around their 'hospital'. 

" Clear the hallway!" Cub exclaimed, shoving all the young hermits to the side. "We have 2 pregnant patients!" 

" Ahhh yes. Me and Mrs. Chicken are the very 'bestest' of friends." Gemini strolled through the pretend hallway with a bunch of clothes shoved through her stomach to represent the 'baby'. Mrs. Chicken followed- or was taunted, by the seeds that sprinkled from the young redhead's hands. 

Why is the new chicken called 'Mrs. Chicken'? 

Well, young Gemini named her that, but only temporarily. Jevin is still anxiously deciding between each of his friends' suggestions. To be honest, the longer this keeps going, the sooner will 'Mrs. Chicken' become its unofficial name for the rest of her feathery life. 

" Nurse, please help the patients to their beds. I'm gonna go fix Tango'-umm.. twisty stomach." 

" Yes Sir!" Keralis, the nurse, exclaimed as he walked up the young hermit and chicken and scooped them up in his arms. " Be careful with my baby!" Gemini cried out, struggling through Keralis's grasp. Despite her complaints, she giggled like there was no tomorrow. 

Keralis smirks as he carefully places the two onto separate beds. " Here you go, ladies. Two comfy beds for your tired tummies to rest on." 

" Oh thank you~" Gemini responds fancily. 

Just then, another chicken appeared in the area. Doom the chicken, all alone and left out, came to visit the female chicken. 

" Ahh! Perfect timing!" Young Cub grabbed Doom from the floor and scooted him closer to Mrs. Chicken. 

"And for you two lovebirds- no pun intended, a nice cozy blanket to keep your feathers warm." Keralis pulls out a heart-designed blanket and drapes it over the two chickens. 

" I like to call this blanket the 'baby maker'."

He earned a light smack in the head from the new hermit. 

" Awww. They love each other!" Cub awes at the two. 

" Ahh yes. Doom glaring daggers and Mrs. Chicken is definitely a sign of their love.." Pearl mumbles to him. 

She did make an excellent point about the 2 chickens' current relationship. Ever since they found Mrs. Chicken, Doom silently loathed the new chicken, going on a clucking panic every time Jevin paid more attention to her than him. To Doom's dismay, all the young hermits shoved the 2 chickens onto each other, stating that their two feathery buddies were always meant to be together because they were, you know, 'chickens'"

It was only at this point that Keralis realized this. He could just see Doom, continuing to glare at the oblivious chicken. The jealous chicken made an attempt to escape his 'baby maker' but Cub then quickly shoved him back to the female chicken's side. 

" Now make babies!" Young Cub demanded.

" That's how you make babies? You just put them together?" Young Scar came in with his very own white lab coat. 

" Well... Joe said that when two people love each other so much, they make babies. He said that he read it."

" My uncle Grian said that to make baby chickens, you have to feed them seeds. " Scar stated. He quickly asks for the last extra seeds from Gemini and sprinkles them in front of the two chickens. 

... 

... 

...

" The chickens are not eating the seeds.. " Scar pouted. 

" How about you, Gem?" The two young pretend doctors looked back at their other pregnant patient. " How did you make a baby? Did you do it by loving someone?" 

" Umm... I don't think I have someone I love.. " Young Gemini pondered, thinking of a random backstory to share.  But of course, 'Auntie Pearl' came in clutch and whispered a few words to her. 

" Ohh! Thank you, Auntie Pearl. My husband is busy working in the forest! 

" Forest?" 

" Yeah! He- uhhh... Cut wood! For the baby's new house! He gives me the wood so that I can build the house. "

" Oh he definitely gave you 'the wood' alright."

Keralis earned another light smack on the head from Pearl. 

" Pssst. Cub, Scar. " a young voice whispered from behind. False came in silently, walking up to the two young hermits. " We ran out of patients to take care of. "

" What!? What about Tango and his twisty stomach?!" 

" Ohh, Doctor XB already fixed him." 

" But he was crying about his evil brother, Etho?!" 

" Yeah, but now he hates him and doesn't want to see him again. So he feels better now. We need more patients! "

" Ooh! Ooh! I know! " Scar cried out, waving his hand all around the place. " Maybe Bdubs can be one of the patients! I can tell him that-" Scar's enthusiasm soon died down, lowering his hand as a frown formed on his face."... Ohhh wait.. "

" Scar?" False looked at him curiously. 

"... Nevermind." 

"... Okay?" Young Cub and False stared at him in confusion, before going back to their conversation. " Where can we find patients? Should we ask Etho to attack Auntie Pearl again?"

" No! Bad Cub!"

The two kids continued to bicker until they were interrupted by an audible "Ahem!" from behind. 

There stood their first option for a patient, Bdubs, wearing a nice little hat on his head.

" I'm the ambulance driver, and I brought you guys a new patient." He gestured at young Xisuma, wiggling around the ground. " Someone ate his legs."

Cub and False stared at them for a good second before hastily running up to young Bdubs to a big hug. They jumped happily, dragging poor Bdubs into their excitement. " Wooo! We have a patient! You're a hero, Bdubs!"

Despite being squished in their hug, a big grin formed on the little hermit.

" Help... Mah leeeegggsss-" Xisuma whined.

The kids immediately ended their big hug and ran up to drag poor Xisuma to their hospital. " Don't worry, friend! We will get your legs back!" Cub exclaimed as he and False plopped him down to the bed next to Gemini.

" Scar! You take care of the future patients at my nurse desk!" False instructed.

" Can I use the pretend computer?"

" Sure."

Scar smiled as he started running up to False's old place. But not before passing by Bdubs. That's when he slowed down, avoiding each other's gazes until they parted ways.

" Doctor?... "

... 

" Cub?.." Young Gemini called out again. She immediately spotted Cub and False, trying to pull Xisuma’s legs out. 

" I'm a doctor!" young XB came out of nowhere, huffing and puffing. " Sorry. I was busy crying because of my evil brother. What do you need?" 

" My baby is coming out. " She says so casually. 

... 

... 

... 

... 

" THE BABY IS COMING!!" XB exclaimed loudly to the heavens, catching everyone's attention in the room. He stumbled around the floor as he grabbed the closest blanket." Cub, Scar, Falsey! I need help!"

Instead of running up to help poor XB, the three gave each other looks before running in the opposite direction. At first, Keralis thought they were just ditching him, but judging by the lack of reaction XB had after seeing them run off, it looked like it was part of the plan, oddly enough. 

" Go Gemini go! Go XB Go!" Impulse cheered at the sidelines. " Go get the baby!" 

" Oh thank you~" Gemini gasped. 

One minute later, Cub, Scar and False came back, rolling a big lump inside the blanket and placing it in front of XB. 

Surprisingly enough, young TFC followed after them with his own lab coat, which was weird. Because Keralis specifically remembered the kid telling him that he didn't want to play doctor because blood scared him. He reminded him that blood was all over his body and that nearly gave TFC a freaking breakdown-

But judging by the smirks and silent snickers that tried to escape his mouth, it looks like TFC has a little cheeky plan. 

" Okay everyone," TFC replied, signalling every doctor and nurse to surround the blanket lump. Every single kid surrounded the whole bed, tensed as they silently watched the operation start. 

" One!.." 

"... Two" 

Alright! Keralis swore that he saw the blanket lump move-

"... Three!" 

... 

... 

... 

... 

... 

TFC smirked again. "... Four." 

Everyone let out an impatient groan. Heck- even the blanket lump produced muffled screams from inside. 

"... Five." 

The blanket lump was now trying to go after young TFC, but he immediately calmed it down with a few pats. 

"... Six-" 

" TFC!!! "

"GO!" 

And soon, Gemini hastily pulled off the clothes from her stomach as the doctors launched the blanket lump next to her. 

" The baby is out!" XB exclaimed, gesturing to the 'baby' inside the blanket lump. 

" We did it!!" 

Everyone immediately cheered for the delivery, dancing around the place as the 4 doctors and single nurse dramatically bowed down. Even he and Pearl found themselves consumed in their medical drama as they applauded for them. 

" Come on. Check the baby." TFC cheekily grinned. 

Young Gemini nodded as she slowly removed each fold of the blanket. After the third fold, black-jet hair revealed from underneath the covers. Out of curiosity, everyone walked towards the bed and took a peek at the blanket lump. 

Keralis couldn't see it quickly but he could see the smiles and snickers the kids tried to hold back as they looked at the 'baby'. Oh- but TFC did not hold back at all. One of the calmest kids of the daycare was now howling out a maniac's laughter, hugging his stomach as he passed out on the floor, still giggling like a hyena.

Okay, now he was even more curious. The closer he got to the baby, the sooner he started snickering. Inside the blanket lump was a young grumpy Mumbo, mumbling angry gibberish as he sank lower inside his blanket. 

" Come on, Mumbo. That's not what a baby sounds like." Young Iskall smirked. 

Young Mumbo glared, but soon let out a sigh. "Goo goo... Ga."

" That's not what all babies sound like." Joe frowned. 

But young Gemini did not seem to care about what baby she had nor what a baby sounded. She looked at Mumbo with loving eyes and genuine care in her touch as she carefully pulled him closer to a hug." This baby... is someone I love. " She whispered. 

All the kids looked at them in awe, heck- some of them looked like they were gonna cry. 

While Keralis? He was somewhere between crying and questioning the whole world. Because for the love of all things hermits- where did she get those words-

His thoughts were soon interrupted by an "Oof" sound. He looked back and watched young Gemini slowly close her eyes as she 'sneakily' poured bright red health potion onto her shirt. 

Did... Did Pearl taught her that-

She pulled poor Mumbo to another hug. "My baby... I'm sorry- I can't be there for you for too long... I-.." She pulled him away before dramatically passing out on her bed. 

" I-I love you, my baby..." 

...

...

... 

... 

... 

... 

... 

... 

All laughs and giggles were soon thrown out the window. Now, the daycare fell into an awkward silence.. Everyone still processed Gemini's 'unplanned' death.

Put emphasis on the word 'unplanned', because judging by the teary-eyed and terrified faces on the young hermits, Gemini's idea of a half-failed pregnancy was not thoroughly discussed with one another, or was never even discussed at all! 

You know? If Keralis had completely forgotten that this whole thing was some medical roleplay, he'd probably start flooding his personal reservoir with his tears right then and there. 

"...... GEM NOO-" False practically launched herself over the young red-head. 

" You cannot leave us! Who will take care of baby Mumbo?" Cub cried out 'dramatically'. 

TFC fainted from the 'fake blood'. 

He could no longer tell if they were still going with the roleplay [Despite her unexpected character death] or were actually crying.
