Chapter 1: Rainbow beams

—Zedaph's POV—

"Tango, why am I here again?"

"To witness the power of science!" The blonde exclaimed.

It was a week after my last episode was uploaded. The cartoony scientist Tango insisted that I should witness his new machine. Or what he calls his, 'inator'. He did not tell me the reason for my company but I went with it anyway. He could have called Impulse, Bdubs, maybe even Mumbo, but no! He asked for me instead.

"Tango, you still haven't told me why you called me here. Not that I'm complaining though! I'm just a bit curious. Why?" I asked.

Tango stopped walking at the perfect time we reached his, ummm- inator. His eyes finally fixed on me as that little smirk on his face gave me the idea that this might not have been a good idea to come. But after a few minutes of explaining, his intentions were finally clear.

"After you showed me your baby zombie security, it gave me an idea for a new inator. Your security wasn't exactly the most effective so I thought I could help you by adding more baby zombies," He then pointed at the professional looking contraption.

"I call it the Infantesimal Inator!"

"The what?"

The red-eyed hermit widened his cheeky grin, "Infant and Infinitesimal, mixed together to make the word Infantesimal. I can turn normal zombies to baby zombies! Hehe!"
The 'hehe' part cracked my calm demeanor and sent me to a fit of giggles, "Tango what in the world is even that name!?"

"You like it? I'm a genius!" He laughed. "So anyways, I wanted to see if you approve of this idea. I have this random zombie trapped inside the fence as our guinea pig and see if we can turn it into a baby. Unfortunately this is not permanent so the effects will wear off for a few months before it turns back into a grownup zombie. But this is only a test so I can just fix it later..."

After a long explanation of how the inator works, I officially approved the idea and we both shook hands. He requested that I should maybe stay a bit further away from the room, in case if something goes wrong, and so I did. I watched as Tango hopped on the little seat at the back of his inator. First he started up the contraption, creating this weird engine noise you'd rarely hear in minecraft. Once it was turned on, he then pointed a cone-shaped beam on the mob, and yelled,

"READY ZED!?"

I carefully hid behind the safety glass and gave him a thumbs up. "Ready! I yelled back.

"HERE WE GO!!"

And soon a big orb of light started growing from the tip, then forming into this giant beam, pointing at the zombie. Everything was going very smoothly!... Well that's what me and Tango thought at first. "YES, YES, IT'S WORKING!! HAHA IT'S WORKING ZED!!" He cried out.

Oh boy... that was a big jinx.

Just then, bright white beams changed into different colors of the rainbow continuously. I did not think much about it at first, but when my gaze landed on Tango's sudden frightened expression, rushing through all the buttons and levers in front of him, that look alone told me that something was wrong. The inator suddenly went into a spiral, and yeeted the scientist out of his chair and onto the concrete floor. It kept spinning from all kinds of directions, with the rainbow beam wackily dancing all over the place, it was like a disco ball.

I hastily climbed on top of the safety glass and yelled, "TANGO, YOU OKAY!?"

The blonde scientist hesitantly backed up to the wall, wincing as he kept rubbing his sore bum. "I THINK SO!!" He yelled back.

As if the obnoxiously loud engine noises was enough to make our ears bleed, the rainbow beam changed back to white, but only this time the beam grew brighter and brighter till a blinding light blocked my whole vision. I hissed from the glaring light till I found myself stumbling back to the nearest wall, I felt my head hit the concrete block too hard that the blinding light faded into pitch black darkness. The last thing I heard were faint calls of my name, then a constant ring in my head...

"uGhh, fivee minut's MuMmmm!"

I groaned sluggishly as I finally opened my eyes. At first I was expecting to find myself back in prison- I mean high school again, but I knocked my head silly to realize that I'm already a grownup, geez. Instead I was awoken by the ceaseless violence that caused me harm on the same spot on my shoulder, with a zombie staring emotionlessly at my face... No wait, not just a zombie, a baby zombie!

I cracked a smile at the image of the zombie infant trying to slowly kill me, and quickly hoisted the baby zombie to my arms and proceeded to cuddle with it. "TANGO WE DID IT!! WE HAVE A CHILD!! IT WORKED!!" I cried out happily, while the baby mob aggressively tried escaping from my grasp by using any means of violence that this baby zombie is limited to.

"Hehehe...Tango?" I called out.

I finally brought the baby back inside the fence cage and continued calling out for blonde hair buddy, "Tango! Where are you?! Congratulations, it's a boy!" I even had to use jokes just to go get the attention of my missing friend. Not just because it's funny as hell , but it sometimes helps me ease my worry. The silence was enough to make me even more worried than before.

"Tango where are y-" I paused for a second , noticing a little shadow casting behind the 'Infantesimal Inator'. My worry turned into anxiety, as I slowly walked up to shadow with a determined grip of my sword but shaky legs. Once I turned the corner, my jaw dropped, at the same time I lost one's grip on my diamond weapon. You know? This was to be expected if you wanted to test a machine that could possibly babify you by accident.

"T-T-TanGO!?"

—Wel's POV—

"Woah... now that was a spectacular light show.." I murmured.

I just arrived at the shopping district to continue on finishing 'Welsmart'. But I was distracted by the sudden beam of colors dancing through the sky, like a twisty rainbow that wouldn't stay in one place. It was unusual yes, but the rainbow aurora was a sight to behold.... The light show only lasted for 4-5 minutes, from my intuition at least, then the colorful beams in the sky soon faded into the background.

It left me captivated I'll tell ya' that! I almost forgot my purpose for visiting the cowmmercial district. Just before I started walking towards the direction of my shop, I heard a sound.

*THUD*

"Hmm?" I tiptoed to where the sound came from, it was somewhere behind one of the shops. The closer I got the louder the sound was, but it wasn't a thud. No, it sounded like sniffing, crying maybe? I frowned at the thought of finding a sad hermit, part of me hoped that wasn't the case but if it is, then I'll gladly help them out! I was about to reveal myself to whoever was crying but to my surprise, no one was there... Instead a grey helmet rested on the grass. And judging by the purple visor, anyone on the hermitcraft server would immediately know who's helmet it belongs to.

But where is Xisuma? Why is it here? If Xisuma lost his helmet, I could always send him a message and give it back to him later. But wait, something wasn't right... Do helmets even legs? Because if not then why do I see two shaky little legs poking out from underneath the head wear? I gulped, then carefully lifted the helmet from the ground, but only to witness an unexpected scene. I stumbled back out of pure shock once my eyes gazed at the little figure that hid inside the helmet.

"A child?" I mumbled...

The child, probably somewhere near 3 or 4 years of age...he was crying. His dark brown locks almost covered his teary eyes as his tiny chest winced from every sob the 3 year old tried to hold in but failed. His purple eyes now gazed back at me, finally acknowledging my presence after a minute of staring at him. My heart skipped a beat once those sad adorable eyes landed on me, and I didn't know what to do!

He just kept staring at me...It was like he was trying to process what's going on. His face slowly brightened to a weak little smile as he carefully crawled right towards me. Oh crap! Oh crap! He's coming to me, what am I supposed to do!? Should I go find a hermit to help me with him?! But I can't leave the ki- Crap, it's too late!

I flinched by the tugging from the child, before pushing himself to rest in my arms. "Welsy.." The child murmured.

H-how does he know my name? I never met this child before!... His clothes, a tiny red suit, reminded him of X. So a child who wears the same red suit as Xisuma was currently wearing but only baby-sized, has the same dark brown hair and purple eyes as Xisuma's, and was coincidentally found wearing Xisuma's helmet... It sounds crazy but there was only one possibility for these similarities..

"xiSUMA!?"

The young admin started giggling from my gasp, almost forgetting the tears that still lingered from his eyes. I felt my face warm up from hearing that giggle, and seeing that sad face change into a tiny grin. Hesitantly I carefully cradled the little 'Xisuma' in my arms. "Welsy Welsy! Hug!" he cried out enthusiastically. I felt a soft chuckle escape my lips as I pulled the little Xisuma to a hug.

"X, as adorable as you are, I think I prefer older Xisuma better," I whispered. Just as I was about to lift little Xisuma from the ground, I reached for my communicator deep inside my pockets before feeling a vibration from the box. I took out the device and read the urgent message that popped out on the screen.

*Zedaph: EMERGENCY!!*

*Zedaph: EVERYONE PLEASE MEET UP AT THE TOWN HALL!*
