~Chapter Seventeen~Rebels~

~Lucy's Pov~

Everything was blank. The last thing I was able to remember was Minerva pointing something out and then lots of pain. As I woke up, I saw myself in what looked like an underground bunker, that reminded me of the one my father used to own. I sat up to see a male with waist-length light-green hair; his bangs were brushed to one side, covering the majority of the right side of his face, as well as a pair of thin strands jutting out backwards from the sides of his head, both shaped like lightning bolts.

His dark turquoise eyes looked at me with shock. He was wearing a  knee-length double-breasted coat, which possessed a wide collar. "You are awake" he spoke as he was placing a tray of food and water on the side. I moved slightly away from him in fear. I was able to see vampire fangs as he spoke. "No wonder you are scared, our second in command brought you here knocked out, please tell me he didn't kidnap a beauty like you?" the male soon asked sounding polite and kind. I was unsure on what to trust.

"My name is Freed Justine. I have been ordered to protect and look after you. We are still getting a better room and only had this one free for now" he soon spoke with a smile on his face. I was confused on what was going on. What had happened. Where was Laxus? "I must take off the bandage on your head, will you let me?" he soon asked as I put a hand on my head, feeling the bandage there. Was I hurt? That explained the pain. I was still scared. I was taking deep breaths trying to figure things out.

"Oh dear, the second in command really did kidnap you didn't he?" Freed asked sounding worried as he headed toward a door. "I will speak and find out why he did so" he spoke before leaving as once the door was closed I looked in my pockets for my phone. I was in luck. I pulled it out to see it had been two days. My eyes had widened. Two days. I saw miss calls from Laxus and unknown numbers. I saw millions of texts. I had no signal. I put my phone back in my pocket and got out the bed, looking around.

There were only normal bedroom items around the room. I moved to the food to see it was pizza and a cup of water. I wasn't sure if they did anything to the food. I moved away from it fast in case. I felt as if I needed to get out of here. As I was about to move the door burst open to see a male standing there with Freed behind him. The male was tall, muscular man with shoulder-length orange hair and a stubbly beard. I noticed right away that he had armour-like prosthetic limbs. That being his left arm and leg.

He was wearing a long, black, high-collared and tattered cloak with shoulder plates. Along with that, he had loose-fitting dark pants, complete with an armoured waist-guard bearing plate similar to the ones on his shoulders, tucked inside simple boots. He was looking at me with a friendly smile. "So your the girl that idiot saved from Minerva" he spoke loudly coming into the room as I stepped back, being on the defensive. I had no idea where I was or who these people were. "I am Gildarts Clive. The leader of the rebels" the man soon spoke.

Rebels? I remembered Laxus talking about how Fairy Tail was trying to find them to help them overtake many leaders of the other races. "I am human while Freed here is a vampire" he soon spoke as I only stepped back again. Saved from Minerva.... Wasn't she on our side? Gildarts only kept his smile. "I understand you are confused but it's because of her your brother Sting got captured. She is a traitor" Gildarts soon explained as my eyes widen. Did she betray us? Was she on their side? Did she know about Sting's whereabouts?

"We will keep you safe, it seems you knew nothing about our world" Gildarts spoke walking toward me but I only moved back again to hit the wall. He stopped moving noticing my fear. "She needs time to understand I believe" Freed spoke as Gildarts nodded turning around heading toward the door. "We will move you to a better room tonight" Gildarts spoke before he fully left, closing the door. Was I now stuck here? Freed looked toward the food and soon saying I needed to eat.

I kept quiet as he only kept a friendly smile on his face. "You remind me of Mirajane when I first met her, well she was quiet because she was scared of herself and we were children back then" Freed soon spoke as I looked toward him. Did he know Mira? Freed only smiled as he headed toward the door himself. ended up falling onto my knees. I was scared. "What are you doing it?" I heard Freed's voice sounding shocked but my eyes were on the ground. My eyes starting to water on top.

I needed to know if Laxus and the others were alright. I heard footsteps heading toward me as I heard a too familiar 'tisk'. The class president. I looked up to see him bending down slightly looking over me. W-what was he doing here? He placed a hand on my head. His eyes closed as he put his forehead on mine. My eyes widened from shock. "It's alright to be scared and cry you know" he whispered a smile on his face. Tears started to build up in my eyes. It was silence in the room as you were just able to hear the door close.

Freed must have left us alone. Natsu had opened his eyes looking toward me. "I saved you from Minerva and brought you straight here. I cannot let those people get their hands on the Great Power. So I will be your new personal guard" he soon explained as he moved his head back moving the hand from her head. He was now offering the hand as a way to get up. I was even more confused now. "W-what race are you?" I asked in a quiet whisper taking his hand. Natsu chuckled helping me on my feet.

"Demon. Most people call me E.N.D. They think I lead the rebels but I am just the second in charge poster boy" Natsu soon explained as I quietly asked about my brother. Natsu was saying that Laxus was safe along with the others with him. I had let out a sigh of relief when he informed me. "Why am I so important? What is this Great Power really?" I soon asked loudly shocking Natsu only making him smirk slightly. "You would believe me if I even told you?" He asked as he placed his hand on the wall right next to my head.

Moving his face close to mine. He was trying to intimidate me. "I don't really have any other choice but to" I replied standing my ground as his smirk only grew. "Is that shy side of you an act Miss Heartfilla?" Natsu asked as I crossed my arms as he chuckled once more. "Sit down and I will start explaining" Natsu spoke moving to the table behind him. I knew my face was burning up from how close he was but I listened moving to the table as we sat down.
