A Guide
If you are reading this then it means you have taken an interest in our campaign, and before you continue on reading I'd like to thank you for it. Now if you indeed are interested and not just someone who accidentally opened this book, then you should have some kind of intention to join in. I very much appreciate the good purpose and hope you will continue on with it.
The easiest way is to, of course, give support. We here at The Heartbroken Project appreciate all kinds of (good) attention and support provided to us and wish to direct it to a cause worthy of it.
If you don't write then it is absolutely fine, you could still help out. You could contribute by supporting stories that have the #HeartbrokenProject tag to encourage people to associate themselves with this campaign. You could also inform other writers about us so they could join in with us if they are willing. Every little thing helps, even a small follow or comment!
If you do write, then write! It's not a groundbreaking concept. Let your creativity inspire you to write and if it fulfils the requirements we would be honoured to have your writing in our reading list or to have one of our stickers on your book's cover. We accept all genres and languages. Don't let anything stop you from putting your heart and soul into words for all to see!
Now for the boring part: the requirements to have your story featured. Of course, I have repeated several times about the basics of what you need to have in your story, but now I will be doing it again a bit more clearly so there will be no confusion.
The story needs to tell about a character facing heartbreak. What I need to emphasise is that it can be caused by more than just relationships and, as much as we all love a good romance, there are more causes to sadness in the world. Maybe the loss of a beloved pet, maybe the parents are having a divorce, it might even be an academic failure, there are no limits!
Once you have that down let's talk about a bit of the conclusion. Once you have your character down on the ground, lift him/her up. Let them be a better person despite the hardships and overcome it. Remember, the point of us starting this campaign is to let people know that no matter how your heart is bleeding you can keep going on and come out stronger.
Note that it does not have to be the main focus, but it still has to be somewhat important. Note (again) that it does not have to be finished as long as you update once in a while.
You got the story and now it is time to upload it. Make sure you tag #HeartbrokenProject on your book so we could find it and put it in one of our reading lists. Another additional requirement is that you have to have a decent cover (at least a little pleasing to the eye). Though it is an option, you could put one of our three stickers on the cover to show people that you support our campaign. You can find the link to the stickers in our bio on our profile!
That is all that you have to know to show your support to us. Everyone on the team would love to thank you all again for your interest and the support you have (or will) show toward us. At the end of the day, you all are the ones who can make a difference in the world.
PS: If none of the colours of our stickers we have doesn't match your cover, you might be able to have admin LooneyLaluna edit the shade of it until it suits your liking. Just give us a PM and ask for Luna, but please do it nicely and politely.
