Have you ever had a feelings so deep for someone that the mere thought of them gave you butterflies? The beautiful kind where a familiar flutter would stir in the pit of your stomach making your heart beat faster and your insides turn into goo?

Have you ever talked to them until the crack of dawn yet miss them the moment they say goodbye?

Have you ever been in love?

Needless to say Luna Hiltz was fallen head over heels for a guy she never imagined herself with.

Let me tell you a thing or two about Luna Hiltz. The only thing predictable about her is her unpredictability. That girl was the definition of a wild card. She wasn't crazy- oh no- its just that she never allowed her soul to be caged. She didn't just walk on the wild side, she lived there full time, wrecking havoc in the streets and setting fire to the stars that littered the skies. She wanted to run wild until she found the most perfect soul; equally wild as her to run alongside her.

She never expected that her 'someone' would be Ethan Lowski - SommerDale's good boy ~ the furthest thing from 'wild'.

He was the kind of guy that would get up at the crack of dawn to play sports. He was the type of guy to have his homework completed no matter how much he swears he will never do it.

They were fire and ice. 

He would never go for a girl like her. He wants sweet,caring, down to earth girls and she was none of those things. She was spontaneous, stubborn and brought with her, a substantial amount of baggage. 

They say opposites attract but

She was tequila and he was white wine

She was impulsive and he was cautious

She was parties and he was tv show re-run specials

She was his antithesis in every way

But every fibre of her being wanted him to stay

She fell for the corny joke he would crack and the stupidly adorable things he would say. The cute dimples by his cheeks when he smiled and how he always knew the right thing to say to her. There was no denying her feelings for him. She'd already fallen.

Its hard not to fall in love with someone when they find a way into your heart and then understand the deepest darkest corners of your mind. When its 3 am and they text you because they just knew you were not asleep. 

But she knew that she would never have a chance with him because boys like him dont want girls like her.

So she accepted her fate. She smiled through the pain when he talked about the girls that he liked. She joked through the hurt when he would talk about how he was planning to ask out the next girl. She tried to remain unfazed when he introduced her to his new girlfriend and when the texts started to stop, their conversations became shorter and when he couldn't even hold her gaze when they talked.

But she understood the true meaning of heartbreak when she ran into him in the hallway at school as students swarmed around them trying to get to class. She could have spotted his face anywhere in the crowd. But when she offered him a wave, all he did was return it with a smile before his girlfriend caught his attention. His smile broadened and his eyes glowed when he saw her and he enveloped her into a hug and walked away without sparing Luna a second glance.

She realized then as her whole world crashed down upon her, while she watched as his figure melt graciously into the pool of students that she had never even had a sliver of a chance with him.

The hallways were devoid of any students as they rushed into their classes to avoid detention but Luna still stared into the direction he walked in with a solemn gaze, too shook to even cry. She thought he was better off with her. But while her soul was shattering into a billion pieces, she wondered if she should have just been better for him.

Her eyes caught the sight of the clock that ticked impatiently at her, waiting for her to make her next move.

She was late to class.

Wordlessly, she let out a silent sob, turned around and walked to her class in the opposite direction, the click of her stilletos resonating around the silent hallway.

The shrill scream of the final bell echoed around the lonely halls.

And everything was quiet again...
