Episode # 42: You are unbelievable

Episode # 42:- (You are unbelievable)

"Birdie, your husband is a witch," Karan said while glaring at Sanskar, who was sitting calmly on the sofa, sipping his tea. Karan was pressing his hand, which ached because he had finally written Sanskar's last exam today.

Everyone chuckled at the scene, while Sanskar, after doing something on his cellphone, turned his gaze toward Karan and said, "Beta, 'witch' is a feminine word."

Karan threw a cushion at him and replied, "Haan tou! (So what?) You are a male witch," making a bad face.

"Wizard is the masculine word for witch," Sanskar said with a smirk. Karan narrowed his eyes and asked, "How do you know?"

"Google the great," Sanskar said, showing his cellphone, which displayed the masculine form of "witch." He had searched for it after Karan called him a witch.

"God will surely ask you one day. Mark my words, 'hath tor diya maira saalay!' (You broke my hand, idiot)," Karan said, blowing air on his fingers, which ached because Sanskar made him write very long answers to the questions.

"Saala is you; I'm your jija," Sanskar replied. Karan shot him a death glare, got up from the sofa, and said, "Abhi btata hoon tujhay! (Let me tell you now!)" He then started running after Sanskar, who, upon seeing him get up, sprang from the sofa and ran outside. (Sanskar had completely healed just a week ago; he even got rid of his plaster. However, the doctors told him not to use his arm much for at least two more weeks, which is why Karan had to write all his exams.)

Everyone laughed as they watched them, while Swara shook her head, got up from the sofa, and said to everyone, "Okay, Mom, I'm going to my room to study." After telling them, she went upstairs. (Sanskar's exams had finished since he was in a master's program, while Swara had one last exam in two days.)

Swara hurried into her room, glancing behind her before closing the door. She checked her cell phone and did something on it. Afterward, she took a deep breath and went to the study table to pick up her book.

Night-time:-

Swara was coming downstairs, holding her book, which she was reading. As she descended, she missed a step and was about to fall when a hand reached out and grabbed her by the arm.

A shriek escaped her mouth as she began to tumble, but she relaxed when she was saved and looked at the person with a sheepish smile. The one who caught her was none other than Sahil.

"You are unbelievable, Swara. Who reads books while coming downstairs?" Sahil scolded her, to which Swara, holding one ear, said sorry.

"Sorry, bhai! I didn't realize, but please don't tell Sanskar about this," she said, giving him a puppy face. Sahil, while looking down the stairs (they were standing with their sides facing the front of the staircase), said, "He already knows."

Sahil made her turn toward the front, where Sanskar stood, arms crossed and giving Swara a death glare.

Swara gulped her saliva and gave him a cheeky grin. Sanskar shook his head and walked away. Seeing him go, Swara ran after him, stepping down quickly from the stairs, and as usual, she tripped again and fell from the last step.

"Owww," Swara exclaimed, holding her right foot. Luckily, she didn't get hurt badly since she fell from the last step, but her foot twisted awkwardly. Sahil slapped his forehead, while Sanskar, who was heading out, heard her shout and turned back toward her.

"Swara!" Sanskar rushed to her, picking her up in his arms. "Why does your mind stop working while you're stepping down the stairs?" he scolded her as he gently set her down on the sofa.

Swara murmured a sorry in a painful tone, as her foot hurt like hell. Everyone else, who had been sitting at the dining table, came over.

"What happened?" Sumi asked, to which Sanskar, examining her right foot, replied, "Nothing, Mom! Your daughter just loves to do stupid stunts." He moved her foot a bit too strongly, causing Swara to scream softly. Sanskar shot her a death glare and asked for the first aid box, which Jhanvi brought him, along with the bandage and pain relief spray.

Sanskar sprayed her foot and wrapped the bandage around it. After finishing, he looked up and found tears in her eyes. Shaking his head a little, he wiped her tears and gave her a small smile.

"Paining?" Sanskar asked softly. Swara, wiping her tears, replied, "A little." Karan, seeing the traces of pain on her face, decided to divert her mind.

"Birdie, you know what your son did to me today?" Karan said, giving Atharv a death glare. Atharv was playing with the ears of his teddy bear, and all the others were seated around them on the sofas.

Atharv looked toward Karan after hearing his name but then turned his gaze back to his bear.

"What?" Swara asked softly, to which Karan, huffing in annoyance, began to tell her his "dukh bhari dastaan."

Flashback to the evening:-

Karan was coming out of the kitchen with a plate full of fries. While eating, he made his way to the hall and sat down on one sofa, placing his plate on the table. He then turned to the side table for the TV remote.

RV, who had just come downstairs, saw Karan eating fries and approached him, trying to grab some. However, Karan, noticing RV's attempt, slapped his hand away and said, "RV bro, don't you dare touch my fries! Go and ask the chef to make fries for you."

Karan pushed RV's hand away, to which RV shot him a death glare. With his hands on his waist, he replied, "Beta! What about my pancakes that you always snatch from my hands?"

Karan shrugged his shoulders and waved his hand dismissively in the air. "My wish. Now shoo! I have to watch the movie," he said, looking towards the table for his fries, but his plate was missing.

"Hey! Where are my fries?" Karan asked with a frown. RV, turning towards the table, noticed something on the other side and chuckled. Karan, seeing RV stare at something, turned his gaze and was shocked to find Atharv sitting on the carpet and eating Karan's fries calmly.

"Champ," Karan called out loudly. Atharv looked at him and giggled a little while munching on fries.

While RV and Karan were arguing, Atharv had been roaming around the hall. Spotting the plate of fries, he picked it up, sat down on the carpet, and started eating.

"This is called 'Tit for tat,'" RV said, sticking his tongue out at Karan as he walked away.

Karan slumped back on the sofa with an angry pout, giving a murderous look to Atharv, who was relishing the fries without a care in the world.

Flashback ends

Swara and Jhanvi were laughing out loud, while the guys rolled on their spots after hearing Karan. Shekhar and Sumi chuckled at the scene.

Karan made a face and stomped away like a child. Atharv, noticing their laughter, started laughing as well, mimicking any child who finds joy in the laughter of adults, even without understanding the reason.

"Okay, enough of the laughing. Now come and have your dinner," Sumi said, heading towards the dining area, followed by Jhanvi. All except Swasan followed them.

Swara got up from the sofa and was about to take a step when Sanskar encircled his arm tightly around her waist, helping her walk. "Sorry," Swara whispered, and Sanskar looked at her, finding her gazing down.

Sanskar didn't say anything; he just kissed the side of her head and guided her towards the dining table. They all ate dinner, and afterward, Sanskar handed Swara a pain relief tablet.

Swara didn't swallow the tablet; she only pretended to take it. When Sanskar wasn't looking, she took the tablet out of her mouth and tossed it under the table.

"Okay, let's go to our room, Swara," Sanskar said while fiddling with his cell phone. He tucked the phone into his jeans pocket and helped Swara make her way upstairs.

Everyone headed to their rooms, with Karan tickling Atharv, who was excited because he was going to sleep with his KACHU (Karan chachu). Rishi handed his nightdress to Karan and went to his room after pecking Atharv's forehead with love.

Karan entered their room with Atharv sitting on his shoulders, gripping his hair in his tiny fists for support.

Next morning:-

Sanskar's sleep was interrupted by the sound of the alarm. Rubbing his eyes, he picked up his cell phone and switched it off. His gaze shifted to Swara, who was sleeping peacefully, her face fully nestled in his embrace.

He smiled softly and kissed her head. Swara stirred in her sleep, and after a few moments, she opened her eyes, only to find her husband staring at her with a small smile.

"Good morning," Swara said in a sleepy voice, rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning, jaan," Sanskar replied, kissing her cheek. Swara responded with a bright smile and settled her head comfortably on his chest.

Sanskar kissed her head again and began stroking her hair. Swara lay silently, listening to his heartbeat. Suddenly, they heard a banging sound at the door, causing chuckles to escape their mouths.

"I'll see," Sanskar said, getting up from the bed. He opened the door to find Atharv standing there, as usual. Sanskar picked him up and gave him a tight kiss on his chubby cheek.

Seeing them, Swara got up from the bed, but the moment she stood, a wince escaped her mouth, and she sat back down, holding her right leg.

Sanskar, hearing her wince, hurried to her side and saw her holding her foot. His eyes widened at the sight of her badly swollen foot.

"Swaraa," Sanskar said, kneeling down in front of her and holding her foot gently. "How did your foot get this much swelling?" He began to open the bandage, but Swara winced again as he pressed her foot.

"Sorry," Sanskar said, getting up to fetch his cell phone. Swara, noticing this, frowned and asked, "Whom are you calling?"

"I'm calling Jhanvi. Your foot has worse swelling," Sanskar replied. Swara's eyes widened at his words, and she thought, No, no, if Jhanvi bhabi comes, she will find out the reason behind this swelling. So, she quickly tried to stop him.

"Sanskar, don't call her. She had night duty yesterday, so she must be tired. Just bring the first aid box; I'll massage my foot with cream. I'm sure it will be fine."

Sanskar reluctantly nodded and brought the first aid box. However, instead of handing it to her, he began to massage her foot and then wrapped the bandage. Swara watched him the entire time, her gaze filled with love.

I should be more careful next time, Swara thought suddenly, gazing at Sanskar and then at her foot. She took a deep breath and turned to Atharv, who was playing with her long hair strands.

Swara smiled a little, took him in her lap, and kissed both his cheeks tightly. Sanskar returned after washing his hands and smiled upon seeing them both.
