Lifting Emeralds limp body into my arms, I placed her down on the bed and made sure she was comfortable before pulling the white sheets over her. I gazed down at the mark on her neck, it resembled a burn but underneath the skin, it glowed softly.

It was my mark, it meant that she was my claim. 

I never expected to mark anybody in my life, it was a practice of the olden days. A way of picking a life long mate and creating a bond, I was her's just as mush as she was mine. 

All my life I had looked up to Raphael, I obeyed his every word until now. This time I'd done something I wanted to do and it could cost me my life, I knew he wouldn't be please about me claiming Emerald but maybe he would change his mind once he saw how happy she would be.

Taking her hand into my own, I placed a gently kiss to the palm of her hand and shivered at her warmth."I love you Emerald, I never thought I would be capable of loving someone or if someone would even care to love me, yet here you are. You sacrificed everything just to save me, made me realize that I am afraid of death. Afraid of the possibility of never being able to looking into your eyes or getting the chance to make you happy, I promise you i'll do anything for you." I whispered.

Gently placing her hand on her stomach, I kissed her warm cheek before moving away from the bed. It would take a while for her body to recover from such an experience, she had already been weak from saving me and now this. With proper care though, she would be just fine.

I could already imagine whisking her away from this terrible placing, seeing her bright green eyes clash against a white wedding gown as she walked down to greet me. Sealing it all with a kiss and moving into a small cottage, being free together...
