Mini Chapter: Lets Chat

A/N: Oh my goodness guys, this book has reached 2k!, I'm so happy and outragselouly grateful for all of you who keep reading. In honor of hitting 2k I'm doing a chapter streak where I'll be posting all three chapters tonight, so sit back and enjoying not having to wait :D

The mere sight of my wife going anywhere near the Outcasted man put me on edge, I couldn't believe I had an enemy sitting in my own dining hall. Having him in my kingdom put my status at risk and my family, at any moment he could turn on all of us.

I was grateful for his help towards Emerald, but now that her condition had improved I figured it would be best for him to leave and let us take care of her. Placing my folded hands on my lap I looked at the raven haired man and cleared my throat."As king I thank you for your help towards my upcoming daughter in law but now that she's showing signs of improvement I think it's best you leave. Your kind are not allowed on my territory nor are you allowed in my home, I can't have my people thinking I'm a traitor to them."

The man's jaw clenched and his eyes darkened into pools of anger, he stood from his chair but kept himself close to Emerald in a protective manner."Your no king of mine, I do not bow to your rules nor will I. The only reason I stepped into this wretched land is because of Emerald, I will stay by her side and make sure she's safe. When she awakes and if she were to tell me to leave, then I shall." He said in a stern voice.

I nodded my head as I listened to what he had to say, I had to admit that he was noble but nobody disobeyed my orders. Lifting my hand into the air, I snapped my fingers and watched as two of my guards marched into the room. They stopped in front of me and bowed towards me."How may we serve you my lord?" One questioned.

"Please take our little guest down to the cells and lock him up, since he refuses to leave on his own then I believe imprisonment should be a good alternative. Make sure he's locked up tight, I can't have him breaking out and causing trouble." I commanded.

The two guard's grabbed each of the young mans arms and held him back, he tried to put up a fight but his movements were sluggish. His furious gaze landed on Cassius and let out a low growl."If you do anything to her, I'll kill you! Do you hear me!?, I will rip apart your precious little castle and burn everything you love!, Mark My Words!" He screamed as he was dragged away.

Numissa stood in front of me with a burning gaze, she placed her hands on her hips and glared down at me."Do you see how he cares for her?, Even as he's being dragged away to a cell he's screaming to protect her and vowing to hurt who ever touches her, he may not realize the feelings he has for Emerald but that boy is in love with her. He stepped into forsaken territory all while knowing he could have been killed for it, stayed with her all night, fed her his own blood and jumped up when ever she made a small noise!"

I looked away from her penetrating gaze and slumped my shoulders at her authoritative tone."Our son is suppose to marry this girl!, How can you stand there and defend some filthy Outcasted man. A man who belongs to the same people who kidnapped her only four days ago!" I grumbled.

Sharp nails dug into my chin as Numissa lifted my head towards her, the anger in her eyes softened but her gaze was still fierce."Lorik I understand you want Emerald to marry our son and at some point I did to, but our son did nothing to help her. Cassius has been in this room with us all night and not once did he approach Emerald, he didn't sit next to her or tuck her in when she began to shiver. The truth is our son doesn't even take care of himself, because our son is just a boy wasting his life and that dark haired young man is a true man." She explained gently.

Understanding swelled inside of me, but so did denial. I pulled Numissa's hand away and stood from my chair, with a wave of my hand I turned my back to her."Love you've been up all night worrying about poor Emerald, your head is probably fuzzy and you really don't understand what your saying. I think it's best you go get some rest and let me handle the rest." I said dismissively.

I begged the ancient gods that my son would prove them all wrong, but I was having trouble believing it would happen.
