My feet carried me out of the castle and through my blurry tears I saw four figures standing outside the entrance. Rubbing my eyes with the back of my hand I looked at the one woman, she lifted her dark silky veil from her face and smile."Emerald, it's lovely to meet you. I have to express my sincere apologies for my prior actions, I've come here to...form a truce." She said, her voice hollow.

I rubbed my stuffy nose and slowly walked past them, I didn't have the time or the strength to deal with anymore people. All I wanted to do was find somewhere to hide, I wanted to be alone for awhile so I could figure out a plan for myself.

A cold hand grasped my shoulder and stopped me in my tracks, I slowly turned to face the woman and found myself staring into orbs of swirling blue. The woman's white hair cascaded past her veil and gave her features an angelic look, she parted her dark red lips as she spoke."My name is Reevena, we've met before through that little mortal named Katia. I'm sorry I tried to corrupt you, I truly had no idea that darkness lived within you." She swiped a long nailed finger along my cheek and examined the wetness that coated her fingers.

I found more tears stinging my eyes, for some reason today had to be the worst day of my life. I had my mother fighting for me to marrying the selfish prince, the king himself stating I had overtaken his kingdom and Savon decided it was best for me to be marked. Now, to top it all off I had the Reevena standing in front of me.

Sliding my fingers into my tangled hair, I let out a small laugh as I looked at her."What do you want? Everybody always wants something from me and they don't usually care about how I feel." I mumbled bitterly.

She patted my cheek gently and gave me a sympathetic smile."I know exactly how you feel, I was once like you. My parents wanted me to marry a man because they thought no one would want me with my gifts. I refused, because of my decision they disowned me and I ran off with the man I loved. It was a magical time, up until I came home from buying bread and found him bed with another woman. After that I crossed..." She said in a distant voice.

Twirling a piece of my hair around her finger, she looked at me with a pleading gaze."Do not let your family run your life, your a strong young woman Emerald. You've been in this horrible place, hiding and pretending to be someone your not. In this world you can be free, use your magic and be the strong witch you are!"

I watched as she snapped her fingers and a woman dressed in black ran to her side, she held out the sliver box in her hands. Reevena stroked the top of the box gently."You see, your mother arranged that you were to marry Cassius and she would keep the heart. Well the heart is no longer her's darling and you are free." She cooed.

My gaze settled on the box, my entire future had revolved around that horrible box. All of my freedom had been ripped away for a silly heart, now here it was.

"Your stronger then all of us combined Emerald and with the power of this heart you'll be unstoppable. You can leave this pathetic kingdom behind and instead rule your own, you'll make your own rules and live your own life!" She squealed in excitement.

Looking behind me, I glanced up at the castle and I could see my mother in a window. Her eyes blazed with anger and her cheeks flushed, she would never let me have my own life. Pulling my shaky hand from my hair and I slowly nodded to her."I...I want all of that..everything you've said." I stuttered.

Reevena smirked as she held up her hand and a red jeweled dagger popped into her hand, she grabbed my arm and held it in a grip tight."Great! I'm so glad you agree sweetheart, but unfortunately you don't matter. Your no use to me when your human side is in control, I need dark Emerald." She explained before plunging the dagger into my chest.

Her aim was perfect, the dagger slid directly into my breast and I felt it's cold tip pierce my heart. Blood poured from the wound and I felt my warmth slipping away, a cold feeling grasped my heart and spread through my body. My familiar inky veins pulsated underneath my skin and a new feeling over took me, I straight my shoulders and grasped the hilt of the dagger with my bloodied fingers.

Reevena slowly backed away from me and knelt down onto the ground, she bowed her head before me."My queen, it is such an honor to be in your presence. Many loyal subjects await your arrival, they've forged a gift for you." She whispered.

One of the women dressed in black slowly approached me, she bowed her head before me before placing a crown made of bone on top of my head.

I pulled the dagger from my chest and threw it towards Reevena, she flinched when the bloodied dagger landed beside her."You have brought me from the dark depths of my body, but do not think I will forget what you've done. Now that I am here things will change and I shall claim the heart, if you dare betray me then be prepared to face my wraith. Your vessel will die but your soul will suffer, not even the underworld can save you from me. Mark my words little witch, Darkness Shall Rise."

Savon Pov

I stood next to Rapheal and watched from the window, down in the courtyard I could see Emerald speaking with a white haired woman. For a split second I saw Emerald turn her head towards the window and as quick as lighting I watched the dagger plunge into her heart, the bright light from her eyes dimmed. 

My fists slammed against the glass windows and I screamed her name, I begged for her to hear me and I prayed that I was seeing a nightmare. The beautiful woman I fell so deeply in love with was gone, her bright green eyes were replaced with black soulless orbs. 

I slid onto my knee's and felt warm tears trickle down my face, a lady dressed in black placed a crown upon her head and she threw the dagger towards the white haired woman. Before I knew it she began walking off with her new companions following after her.

No one in the room uttered one word, for we all knew that this terrible day had come about because of us. 

Even through our differences we would have to work together, dark days were coming and we had to figure out a way to stop them. I had to find a way to save Emerald, I knew the others would want to kill her now...but I couldn't.

I loved her, I will love her forever and I Will Save Her.
