"You threatened to burn her!?, I left for one day and in that time you've managed to make your bride feel highly uncomfortable in her soon to be home! You go speak to that girl right now Cassius or so help me your father wont even be able to save you." My Mother hissed through clenched teeth.

I quickly did as I was told and rushed out of the dining room, I knew that when my mother became furious it was best I did what she said.

Lightening lit up the hallway as I walked towards Emeralds room, outside I could hear the rain whipping against the walls of the castle and the wind howling with rage, it was as though the storm had become angry.

I walked up to Emeralds slightly opened door and gently pushed it as I walked into her room, she stood by her window staring out of it with a blank gaze. She glanced at me before crossing her arms over her chest."What do you want Cassius?" She questioned miserably.

Taking a seat on the edge of her bed I looked over at her and sighed."I came to speak with you, I already told you I didn't mean what I said yesterday and I have no problem with you being a witch Emerald. We can't have a marriage between each other if all we do is fight, I want use to be on good grounds."

Resting her palm against the window she looked at the rain sadly."You don't know what its like, you've always had your precious kingdom...your safety. You would never understand the kind of pain I feel right now, I don't know where my mother is. All I know is she's threatened to cross, once she does she's gone." She whispered.

Confused, I furrowed my eyebrows as I tried to understand what she meant but I wasn't in touch with a witches world or their terms."What do you mean she's threatened to cross?, What does that mean?." I asked.

Emerald chuckled bitterly as she leaned her head against the wall and rested her gaze on me."It means she can tap into her ultimate power, she would be stronger...much stronger but the power comes with a price. When a witch crosses she becomes a vessel to darkness, they loose their emotion, memories, soul. In a true sense they basically die on the inside, the mother I know will become nothing but a blurry memory compared to the monster she will become."

Standing from the bed I slowly walked over to her and placed my hand on her shoulder, looking down at her I could see the tears brimming in her eyes. I gently pulled her into my arms, hugging her close to my chest I stroked her hair with my free hand."Your right, I would never be able to handle the pain your feeling right now but I'm not going to stand by watching like a fool. Were going to find your mother, I promise you Emerald." I whispered in her ear.

Resting her forehead against my chest, I listened to her sniffle and mumble."I'm sorry for crying on you and for the whole storm, sometimes I still have trouble controlling it all."

Taking her hand into my own I chuckled."I had a feeling it was you, I don't think anyone minds though, Scalefire could use some rain. I want to go speak with my father and if your alright with it I want you to spend some time with my mother, I don't want you to sit in this room all day alone. I know it seems hard to put your situation to the side but distracting yourself is best." I explained.

She looked up at me with her shimmering eyes and smiled."Actually I think your right, who would have guessed I'd be saying that huh?" She joked.

Narrowing my eyes at her I playfully smirked, I wondered what she was thinking about in that little mind of hers. I for one couldn't take my mind off of her, she had me under her green eyed spell.
