Thunderstruck
AN: SO I thought about this while I was talking to MultiFangirl about Avatar and I thought it would fit Juvia!

Everyone stopped when they saw a yellow flash and the loud noise of something big falling.
Gray, Natsu, Lucy and Happy were returning from a mission and were about to arrive at Magnolia through a trail in the woods when they witnessed the weird event.
"What in the world...?" Lucy asked, looking at the direction the sound came. "It was pretty close."
Natsu sniffed the air and frowned. "That's strange."
He started to walk down a smaller trail and the others followed him, curious about what had happened and since the Dragon Slayer didn't speak, they followed him in silence. Even if Natsu's demeanor wasn't off or on high alert as it would be if there were an enemy around.
What they saw when they've reached the clearing was... unusual to say the least.
Laxus and Juvia were looking down to a fallen tree and Gray couldn't make the words, but he was saying something and Juvia was nodding in agreement, hands on her hips, her coat was gone and she was wearing just her green corset and her regular dark blue skirt – she wasn't even wearing her hat.
"Yo." Natsu greeted and both mages turned to see the group.
The moment Juvia located Gray between her friends, she shrieked in happiness and his lips curled up a little bit when she threw herself on him. "Gray-sama! Juvia missed you so much!"
She kissed her boyfriend's cheek and it was adorable how his cheeks got red with it, even after three months of dating. He was slowly getting used to it and Juvia made sure to keep things very light in public.
"How was the mission?" Laxus crossed his arms over his chest, relaxed.
"Easy." Natsu scoffed, puffing his chest.
Lucy looked at him in disbelief. "A giant snake ate us. It ate us, Natsu."
"We are fine, it would've pooped us out." The Dragon Slayer rolled his eyes.
"It would've pooped our bones out." Lucy hit him on the shoulder an it probably didn't even sting, but he hissed in 'pain' and caressed the place.
"You were eaten?" Juvia's eyes widened when she looked at Gray and he shook his head, her hand slipping into his.
"No, Happy and I managed to escape and I got them out before Flame Brain here could use his magic and cooked Lucy along with it."
The blonde looked down in defeat and her voice sounded tired. "I was covered in snake goo and guts. My hair still stinks."
"Poor you, Lucy-san." Juvia said with sympathy – she wouldn't have like to be covered in that either.
"Lively as always, then." Laxus chuckled.
"Sure." Natsu agreed. "What are you guys doing here anyways?" He asked. "We saw a flash and a loud noise."
"Oh, we were training." Juvia shrugged and Gray looked down to her in confusion.
"What?" He asked but it was Laxus who answered.
"Juvia asked for my help and I thought it was interesting." The blonde man started to walk to a large rock where the others saw their friends' personal items. He reached for his water canteen. "I wasn't sure she could do it at first, but she did."
"What the hell did you do?" Gray wondered.
The blunette looked at Gray, eyes filled with excitement. "Remember a few months ago when we fought that guild and Juvia got hit by lightning and almost passed out?" Gray couldn't forget, he had been terrified.
"Yes?"
"Well, Juvia thought she'd rather be prepared the next time." She told him and her friends. "Laxus-san said he'd be happy to help."
"I don't understand." Gray stepped away from her to face her better. "Water and lightning is not a very good combination. Did you want to build more resistance?"
Laxus laughed. "Oh no. I mean, we did that too, but your girlfriend wanted to create a whole new move."
"A move?"
"Hey, you don't fight me when I ask!" Natsu complained.
Laxus snorted. "That's because you want to get your ass kicked. Juvia wanted to learn. Besides, I like her more than I like you." Laxus shrugged and Juvia giggled, knowing he didn't mean a word of it, but it didn't prevent Gray's frown from deepen with the sound.
It bothered him.
"Did you get the new move?" Natsu was curious.
Juvia looked in Laxus' direction and askes him: "Shall we show them?"
"Sure." Laxus smiled and he turned to their friends. "If you could go over there " – he pointed to a safer spot while Juvia went to the other side of the clearing "better get ready to see jump out of the way, though. Aiming has been a problem we need to fix."
"Aiming?" Gray asked, concerned, going to stand where Laxus pointed. "What the hell are you two up to?"
"Can't spoil the surprise." Laxus chuckled and then said, a bit louder so Juvia could listen. "Ready?"
Juvia took a deep breath and took position, one arm stretched in front of her and the other, stretched behind, and nodded. Gray took his eyes off of her and then looked at Laxus and his eyes widened slightly when he saw the older man's magic come from him, some electric rays. By the sounds it was making, Gray knew that was going to be full charge.
What the hell were they thinking? Gray was about to tell them to cut it off before someone got hurt when Laxus attacked, lightning going right in Juvia's direction.
Everyone at the sidelines looked in Juvia's direction right when she received the charge.
Gray's heart stopped when she had grunted in pain, but the most amazing thing started to happen: in just one second, the lightning surrounding her seemed to travel back to he arm in front of her and then, Gray had no idea why, there was lightning coming from her fingers and back at Laxus' direction.
The older Mage stepped out of the way and the lighting hit the tree behind him, shattering the middle of it and when it fell, there was a loud noise.
So that's what they had seen and heard.
"What the hell...?" Gray whispered to himself, eyes wide and returning his glaze to his girlfriend, who was panting, tired.
"That. Was. Awesome!" Natsu cheered, laughing.
"Wow!" Lucy cheered as well.
"That was much better." Laxus said, looking at the fallen tree and then back to Juvia. "You still get too tired, though, we have to improve that." Juvia nodded. "We'll practice more tomorrow, we are done for the day."
"Thank you, Laxus-san." Juvia smiled.
"Sure." He shrugged and both went to the rock with their things on it. "I would like to see you fighting a Lightning Mage to see their reaction when you counter-attack like that." Laxus smirked. "It should stun them enough you can distract them and then attack."
Juvia laughed. "That's the point." She grabbed her coat and hat but didn't put them on. They turned to her gaping boyfriend and cheery friends. "What did you think, Gray-sama?"
Gray cleared his throat when they started to walk back to the main trail. He had to admit, though: "That was pretty cool."
"How did you do it?" Natsu asked, excited. Laxus was behind them and snorted with Natsu's curiosity.
"Well." Juvia grabbed Gray's hand and once again he blushed, but didn't pull it away. "Water's a very good conductor and that is a weakness." Lucy hummed in agreement. "So Juvia thought she could use that as an advantage, instead. Water will always be a conductor, so why not conduct the lightning out of the body just like it got in?" She shrugged.
"I thought she was crazy when she told me that." Laxus said. "But then I remembered she can turn her whole body into water."
Juvia nodded. "Juvia just needed her magic to learn how to conduct the energy out."
"You made a painful sound." Gray was concerned.
"It still hurts," she shrugged "but Laxus-san and Juvia have been building up her endurance." She told him. "It's quite thrilling and it's better to turn a weakness into an advantage."
Gray sighed. He was worried, of course, but she was right. Juvia was a formidable Mage whom, he was certain, had just invented a way for a Water Mage to redirect lightning without getting fried and she had asked the help from someone they all trusted.
Juvia wasn't reckless, she fought with a cool head (unless Gray was involved, but that was a concern for a different moment) and she had actually done it: redirect lightning. She just needed to train more.
"You are right." Gray told her. "That was incredible, but you should train as much as you can, to get endurance and more skilled."
"Thank you, Gray-sama." Juvia kissed his cheek.
"You could have told me, though."
Juvia giggled and Gray almost smiled at the sound. "You would worried."
"Aw, Gray would worry about his girlfriend." Natsu mocked, making kissing sounds and Gray slapped the back of the Dragon Slayer's head.
"Shut up, moron."
They all laughed and walked together back to the Guild.

AN: I based this on Lighting Redirection from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I think that if Juvia wanted, she could totally pull it off. I mean, she trained herself to give blood transfusions! That girl's amazing!
I hope you like it!
