Chapter 4
Hey guys, sorry for the wait on updating. I've had a lack of motivation lately to work on writing, and been busy.
It's a holiday here today, and also my birthday, so I'm sitting at Starbucks enjoying my free drink and decided I should try and get some writing done.
So here goes, sorry if this chapter sucks.

It was a couple years later, and Astrid was now eighteen. She was trying to convince her parents that since she was technically an adult now, she didn't need all of her study lessons anymore, not to mention the fact she excelled in all of them anyway, she had been for years. She would never give up training lessons with Hiccup though. She knew that was something she could always get better at.
The two of them had moved on to fighting on horses and Astrid was struggling a little with keeping balance on the horse as well as to fight at the same time. Her horse Stormfly was a bit feisty sometimes, but knew Astrid was her rider and was always gentle with her.
They finished their lesson for the day and Astrid got down from Stormfly, petting the horse. She loved her horse. She would take her out all the time if she didn't have stupid royal duties to tend to constantly. She started to walk away and was limping slightly. Hiccup had taken notice.
"You okay?" He asked her. No one was around, so all formality of speaking to her wasn't necessary.
"I'll be fine. I think I twisted my ankle when I fell off earlier. I'll go see Heather for a minute on my way in." Astrid told him. Hiccup nodded.
"Alright, I can't see you tonight. I have some duties to tend to for my father." Hiccup told her while he took the saddle off his own horse. Toothless was his name. He was all black fur, that he blended into the dark. Hiccup had rescued him from the forest when he was younger, and nursed the horse back to health. Toothless' back left leg had been caught in a trap and was in rough shape when Hiccup found him. He was worried they'd have to remove it, but they were able to save it, it just meant the horse limped around sometimes.
"That's fine, babe." She told him. She kissed his cheek before limping away back inside to find Heather.
Heather was Astrid's age, but she'd been training to be a healer since she was a little girl. Heather's mother was also a healer. Head of the healers in the entire kingdom actually. So it was no surprise when Heather picked it up so quickly and was one of the best by the time she was only about fourteen years old. She mainly worked on the royal family and staff in the hospital, but she would treat some others in the village and such as well if needed.
Heather was also Astrid's best friend. The girls practically grew up together, like her and Hiccup did. Astrid loved spending time with her. They would catch up whenever they could.
Astrid reached the Healing quarters and knocked on the door. One of the younger girls opened it and gasped a little. She looked no older than maybe 8 years old.
"Your highness, what can I do for you?" The little girl asked, bowing to Astrid. Astrid smiled at her.
"Is Heather here?" She asked the little girl. The girl nodded.
"I can get her for you. You can come in." She said pulling the door more open for Astrid. Astrid limped into the room and smiled at her.
"Thank you." Astrid told her and knelt down to the girls level. "You can call me Astrid, by the way. What's your name?"
"Lunah." The little girl told her. "My momma named me that because I was born on a full moon and she loves the sky."
"That's a beautiful name." Astrid told her. Lunah smiled at her.
"Thank you. Oh, let me go get Heather." Lunah said running off, almost forgetting about her small task to retrieve the healer.
A few minutes passed and Heather came out and saw Astrid.
"Hey, what can I do for you?" Heather asked her.
"I think I twisted my ankle. I fell off Stormfly during my training lesson with Hiccup." Astrid told her. Heather nodded.
"Alright, come on over and sit up here." Heather said patting to a bed that sat a little higher off the floor. Astrid sat up on the bed and Heather helped Astrid take her riding boot off and Astrid winced a little. Heather looked over the ankle and touched some spots and Astrid would wince or say 'ow'.
"It's swollen, but it's not bruised. So you probably just twisted it. Which is good. It shouldn't hurt for too long. I'll put some salve on it, and give you a pain medication to help. If it starts bruising or the swelling goes up. Let me know. I'll be right back." Heather told her and left to go to another room that had the supplies in it.
Heather came back a few minutes later and grabbed her stool and sat down. She started putting the salve on Astrid's ankle.
"So, how's Hiccup?" Heather asked her.
"Good." Astrid told her. Heather raised an eyebrow at her friend.
"Just good? You think I don't know about you two sneaking around?" Heather asked. Astrid's eyes widened a little.
"What?" Astrid said to her and winced a little as Heather rubbed over a more a tender part of the ankle.
"Come on Astrid, you two are totally together. It's kind of obvious." Heather said to her friend as she wiped her hands on a cloth and grabbed a bandage wrap.
"We're just friends. We grew up together, just like you and I did." Astrid told her.
"Hmm. He's cute though." Heather said as finished wrapping Astrid's ankle and tucked the bandage into the side.
"I guess so." Astrid said to her friend. Heather looked at her.
"You're gonna deny it no matter what, so I guess I shouldn't argue with the princess." Heather told her. Astrid rolled her eyes.
"Am I good to go?" Astrid asked her. Heather got up and grabbed a tonic she had mixed together.
"Here, take this. It will help with the pain. Then you can go." Heather told her. Astrid took the tonic from her friend and drank it.
"Thanks Heather. I'll see you later." Astrid told her. She got down carefully and grabbed her riding boot, carrying it as she left and headed up to her bedroom.
