Drake x Mia
Just to tell everyone that doesn't know, this is actually my OTP, so who knows, I might do more! XD

Drake's point of view-
Mia and I walked along the base of the crag mountain, looking at the statues and rubble of goddess temples. The large mountain had a wide crevice between itself and another, even taller crag mountain, and a large Forest surrounding them both. The clouds partly covered the sun, but some rays still shined down, offering warmth to the land. I gazed up at the sky, hoping that it wouldn't rain any time soon. I hate being soaking wet.
"Drake, there's a cave over here! It's filled with a bunch of old looking chest!" Mia called out, running into the damp cave.
I smiled, taking comfort in her enthusiasm. The bright atmosphere around her kind of reminded me of Armen, before he... I shook my head, not wanting to think of my best friends death. Still, the atmosphere with Mia, seemed somehow brighter and more cheerful than his. Maybe it's because she's never gone through the h*ll we've been through, but then again, I know of her past at the empire.
"Drake, hurry up!" Mia's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
I ran into the cave to join her. She was looking through an old chest filled with old survival items, like and old sleeping bag. Unfortunately, lots of it was ruined from the moisture and humidity. I hoped that wasn't any mold in here, but I knew it was likely.
I opened a different chest and searched through it with caution. In that chest, there was an old looking leather satchel. Curiously struck me, so I opened the bag. My eyes widened, seeing the shinning gems inside. Rubies, emeralds, amethyst, diamonds. There was even some gold and a few marks. On top of it all, was the thin gold chain of a necklace. My eyes followed the chain, until it ended at the smallest Ender pearl I had ever seen.
I pulled it out, the chain and Ender pearl together swung around as I held the top of it in my grasp. For some reason, I imagined Mia wearing it. I thought that she would looked even more beautiful in it. I smiled, thinking of how happy she would be. I slipped it into my pocket.
"I got nothing. How about you?" I heard her soft voice say.
I turned around, and tried to speak, but my mouth became dry, and my cheeks burned. Wow. First time I really felt nervous around her. Well, it was the first time I'd give her a gift from my heart. I care about her. A lot, but I don't know how to say it, or if she'll return the feelings. I never thought I'd ever feel like this. The rapid beating of my heart brought a pain to my chest, but I barely noticed it. I looked up into her shinning blue eyes, feeling my legs become weak. I took the satchel and quickly held it out.
"I-I found this! I was thinking you might like it." I gave a nervous chuckles. I felt like a wreck suddenly.
"Really? Awww, that's sweet!" She said, as I handed the satchel to her, letting the strap slip from my sweaty palms.
I tried to regain my composure as she searched through it. I smiled as she gasped, her eyes growing wide with excitement and joy. She closed her eyes tight, and wrapped her arms around the bag, hugging it against her chest. I chuckled at the joyful sound that left her throat. I loved seeing her happy.
"Drake, this is amazing! You didn't have to give me this, but I am an archeologist after all, and you know how I love shinny things!"
We laughed together. I scratched the back of my neck, hating how much my face burned when I spoke to her. My legs felt like they would give out beneath me. Why does love do that to you? Wait, love? Is that what I'm feeling? Well, of course idiot. I shook my head, and smiled down at her. I thought I saw her blush before she looked away from me.
"M-Mia..." I want to-no, I need to tell her how I feel, but what if I just ruin everything? I swallowed the lump in my throat, trying to find the words.
I opened my mouth again, but she turned to the entrance of the cave, an obvious feeling of alarm rising in her. "Did you hear that?" She asked, sounding a bit panicked.
I looked outside of the cave as well. "No. What was it?" I didn't know whether to feel disappointed or relived that I didn't confess. No; I'm disappointed.
She shook her head. "I don't know. I just...." She turned her head to me, and said as she put the satchel on her, "We should investigate."
I nodded, deciding to agree with her. We slowly walked out of the cave, cautious with drawing unwanted attention from any unwelcomed guests that might have been lingering about. The light that the clouds once let shine was now gone, replaced by sprinkles of raindrops. I growled. My eyes widened in surprise when Mia took out her own green cape from her backpack, and tried wrapping it around my shoulders.
"There. I know how you don't like getting wet." She said, her cheeks a tad bit red.
The strange heat and aching in my chest was returning. She was very kind, another aspect I adored about her. I pulled up the hood to stop the rain from hitting me, and to hide the blush I knew was on my face.
I looked back up, both of us feeling alarmed at the sound of footsteps on the moist stone. Suddenly, in a blur I was able to see an arrow shoot out of the close forest, heading in Mia's direction.
"Mia!" I shouted, getting in front of her just in time.
She screamed as the arrow went through me, just below my right shoulder. I tried to hold back my cry of pain. I held the wound, feeling some of the skin on my fingers getting cut through from the arrow head that was still in me. I turned to Mia, dreading the look of fear in her eyes. I smiled to comfort her, but her expression didn't shift.
Shouting rung out from the trees. I turned my head, seeing mercenaries charging out of the forest, firing arrows our way. I turned, grabbing Mia with my now bloodied hand, and ran in the opposite direction, into another part of the forest. I guess it's not the best time to tell her how I feel anymore.
Mia's point of view-
As the arrows came flying, Drake turned around and grabbed my hand, pulling me into another part of the forest. He seemed scared, not for himself, but for my safety. Up ahead, there were more mercenaries with weapons readied. It was as if they knew we would going this direction. Then the thought hit me; what if they were following us the whole time?
Drake's feet suddenly came to a halt, making me run into him as I was pulled behind. I peered around him, seeing the mercenaries everywhere. I pulled out my sword as he pulled out his own, and we ready to fight for our freedom and our lives. I looked up at Drake, seeing the fire in his eyes, so focused and prepared to die for a friend's sake.
All of the mercenaries seemed to charge at one, arrows flying through the air, and the blades coming at us at full force. I kept swinging my blade, cutting through as many of them as I could. I could feel as the thin layer of iron cut through my arm, and my stomach, leaving a long scar that luckily didn't go down to deep. I gave another thrust, cutting the throat of the man that managed to injure me. His body fell down, dead.
I let out a scream as an arrow pierced my leg. I fell into the mud, and looked down at my injury, seeing as the blood was washed away from the rain. Where did the arrow come from? Drake and I killed them all, didn't we?
"Mia, look out!" I heard Drake shout.
My eyes looks up, seeing Drake standing before me, with his back facing me. I watched as two arrows shot out from the trees from approaching mercenaries, and pierce him in his chest. My eyes widen as I watched dots of red fly into the rain filled air, my body quivering at the realization of what was happening. His body fell over on top of me as my eyes teared up. The rain slowly washed away the blood coming out of his mouth, but the not the blood staining his shirt from the three arrows that were now in his body.
"Dr-Drake?" I choked.
My fingers caressed his cheek, so soft but growing cold. He opened his pain filled eyes, glimmering in the dim light, and looked at me. He coughed as I wrapped my arms under his, and began pulling him to a tree trunk, forgetting about the wound on my leg. I rested him there, and sat on my knees by his right side. Looking down at his bleeding wounds, my eyes flooded with tears. His mismatched eyes looked at me, so loving but slowly glazing over, losing life.
"Drake, please..." I grabbed his arms, not wanting him to die. "Please. No, no, no, no, no!"
Even in his current state, he smiled at me, something that surprised me. He pulled something out of his pocket, and held it out, waiting for me to take it. I forced my hand to let go of him, holding out my palm below his fist, as he opened it and let the object in his hand fall into my own.
I gazed down at the golden chain, with a small ender pearl attached to it. I felt my heart skip a beat at the thought of him gifting me this as he was practically dying for all I knew. I wrapped my fingers around the chain, holding the pearl tightly in my hand.
"M-Mia... I-I..." I felt a bit of comfort as his hands rose up and gently pressed against my cheek. "I love you."
My eyes widened. I never knew that he thought of me that way. I guess I should have known with the blushing and the gifts, but... I swallowed, my mouth feeling dry. The tears in my eyes were streaming down my face as I choked and gasped, trying to breathe. His skin was growing paler by the second as blood drained from his body.
I looked into his eyes again, and remembered everything we had been through. I always looked up to him. I loved so much about Drake. I loved how he always put others before himself, I loved how he smiled in the worse situations. Heck, I even loved his sarcastic attitude. I love him. Why now did I finally realize it?
"D-Drake... I-I..." I tried to get the words out of my mouth, listening as the mercenary footsteps got closer, surrounding us. I held the necklace in my hands so tightly that my fist hurt.
Before I could finish, his hand moved to the back of my head, and pulled me closer to him. He closed his eyes, as our lips collided with each other. I could feel the heat burning my own body, but I barely felt body heat radiating from him. I closed my eyes, momentarily forgetting what was going on around us, and that this kiss was from his few remaining dying breaths. Despite that, he filled it with so much passion. Was this really our first and last kiss?
His lips were soft, but like the rest of his body, they were growing cold. I pressed my hand and fist on his chest, pushing him back as I tried to enjoy whatever pleasure I could, desperate to forget the wrong going on around us. My tears slid down my face, getting onto our lips. The salty taste mixed in with the taste of blood.
I felt his fingers untangle from my hair and fall limp on my shoulders, sliding down until his arm rested at his side. His lips broke away from mine, as he let out a long breath, and his forehead rested on mine. I opened my eyes, seeing that his eyes were closed, and his entire body was now limp.
"Drake? Drake, please! No!" I kept pushing down on his chest, shaking him to make him open his eyes, but to my dismay, no such thing happened.
Hands grabbed my shoulders, and roughly pulled me back. My hands were pulled behind my back, and tied with rope, squeezing tightly against my wrist and digging into my skin. I kicked my feet as the mercenaries dragged me back. I didn't want to leave Drake. I wanted to forever be with him, even if that meant I'd die from starvation next to a corpse.
"Drake!" I kept calling out his name as his body got further and further away.
I clutched that necklace in my fist, my vision blurring once again from my tears. Why did I have to realize my feelings when it was already too late? I didn't even get to tell him that I love him back...
