VIII ~ Together
31st October, 7:16PM:
As Katie fell, she gathered up her dress and used it as a parachute. At least it had one thing it was good for.
Katie fell down through the darkness for what she estimated to be a minute. It was extremely boring, but it helped to distract her from her fears.
"Katie!" Travis yelled somewhere above her, and Katie had just enough time to see Travis grab her arm before they both hit a cushion.
Travis was on top of her. Katie panicked, wanting him to get off. She shoved him away, and he rolled off the cushion. "Why did you follow me, you should've gone to get help!" She cried, shuffling over to the edge of the gigantic pillow. "But no, you're such a big idiot. You decided that you would jump down yourself! And now look where that has landed us-" Katie faltered.
Travis was lying on the ground, unmoving. Katie grabbed his wrist and tried to feel for a pulse. Nothing.
"What is this sorcery?!" She demanded, tears leaking down her face. "Travis! Wake up!" Katie cried, whacking at his chest. But he wouldn't get up.
Katie ran. She ran down the corridor until she found a door, but through the blur of her tears it was hard to tell whether it was actually a door or she had just ran into a wall. Inside the room were so many plants, Katie stopped crying just to stare around at them. There were flowers, vegetables and grapevines.
Suddenly, a vine came speeding towards her out of nowhere. Katie ducked, and it went over her head, but then boomeranged back and wrapped tightly around Katie's neck and lifted her into the air. Katie cried out, but then choked as the vine squeezed at her throat. It lifted her higher and higher, not stopping until they finally hit the roof and Katie had a clear view of the room.
She could feel her breath slipping away. But then suddenly, she wasn't there anymore.

October 31st, 7:19PM:
Percy pulled Annabeth closer towards him as they fell. It reminded him of Tartarus, but he pushed the fear away and only focused on the whistling in his ears.
When they hit the cushion, Percy didn't let go of Annabeth's hand. They lay there, breathing heavily, until Percy hauled them both up.
"Where are we?" Annabeth asked.
"I have no idea." Percy said. He went to let go of her hand but she stopped him.
"Don't." Annabeth said. "This could be a trick. It's best if we don't let go of each other. I -" she started crying.
"Hey, shh, shh." Percy whispered, pulling her closer towards him. "What's wrong?
"I don't want to lose you again, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth murmured. Percy pulled away from the hug and kissed her. If he was going to die down here, then he would make sure that this last kiss meant something.
"Wise Girl, I promise that I'll never leave your side again." Percy told her when they broke apart. Then he grinned. "Now lets find a way out."
