Chapter-63 Duality

When Mazarine was fifteen and Elijah was seventeen years old.
It's my senior year prom. The last day before I graduate. I've done it. I've learned everything I needed to learn.
My life has been smoother than I ever imagined.
Green and I have grown insanely close. I thought we couldn't get any closer the day before, and the day before that. Yet, every day, my love for her keeps growing. She's making me feel things that I've never felt before.
God, I couldn't even find words to express how much she means to me.
After that wolf incident, both I and Green's powers increased insanely. Even the people who thought she is there because of her influence were mind blown by her powers. Since then, nobody is bothering us.
I've asked Green to be my girl for prom. I mean, though it's known that she'll be accompanying me, I asked her out all properly.
My Green's grown to be a beautiful witch. Though she's reached her full growth, she still looks like a kid to me. Until she turns eighteen, no, until she turns twenty-one, she'll always be my little Green.
Currently, I am getting ready for the prom. We decided to wear matching dresses for the prom and Zendaya helped us design the dress.
I'm wearing a white buttoned-up shirt with a daisy-printed coat and pants. While Green decided to wear a ball gown with daisies printed on it.
"Elijah, are you ready?" I heard Zendaya's voice as I dusted my dress, and looking the mirror.
God, I hope Green loves this dress.
"Mom, how's it?"
Zendaya gasped as soon as she turned to look at me.
"God, my baby looks all grown up and beautiful," tears whelmed inside her eyes as she hugged me.
"Mom, you might wrinkle it." I patted her and broke the hug.
With a chuckle, she wiped her eyes.
"I'll miss you." She whispered to herself.
What does she mean by that?
I frowned at her words. "Mom? What do you mean by you'll miss me?"
She shook her head vigorously. "Nothing, just thinking about how fast you are growing up."
"Don't worry Mom, I am not going anywhere."
Huffing on her breath, she patted my back. "Green's waiting for you. Go, have fun," she handed me two freshly made daisy bracelets.
"Love you, mom." With that, I left to pick Green.
As soon as I went inside the royal family's living area, I was stopped by Green's dad.
"Hello Uncle," I smiled.
Instead of responding, he looked at the daisy bracelet I wore in my hand.
"Will there be some sort of fire on the prom?"
I smiled at his question.
"Why would there be any fire in the prom uncle?" I shook my head, trying not to smile and be disrespectful.
He took a deep breath. "Will there be any candles?"
Well, that is a possibility.
"Maybe?"
"What about daisies?"
We'll of course a lot of different flowers will be there. It is prom.
"There will be a lot of flowers uncle."
Why is he worrying?
Once Green turned fifteen, we realized she's a dream walker. She can make and break the dreams of people and communicate with them just like that. That's her power.
And whatever happened during that wolf incident was just a random coincidence. From what I guess, the daisies went dead and candles were blown off due to the spell getting broken, not because of some powers.
Yet, Green's parents were always extra careful. Since that day, they never allowed us near a place that had both fire and daisies.
"Then, here wear this thread till you return. And remember, come back straight here from prom. Okay?"
I nodded my head and wore the Black thread along with my bracelet.
"Mazarine will be here in a minute."
With a smile, I waited patiently for my Green. God, I couldn't control my excitement. This will be our first prom. The junior prom will be conducted only after the senior year prom. Seniors' classes got over two months before the juniors.
We'll have our second prom in two months. And by that time, I would've turned eighteen. An adult.
"Elijah," Green breathed as the door opened.
And there she was, my angel, my Green. Looking like a goddess.
She's wearing an emerald green silk gown with white daisies printed on it. The dress fit her so perfectly and looked magnificent on her. Her hair was clipped to the side with small daisies on top of them.
And holy shit, she looks amazing, she is beautiful.
"You look like a goddess Green," I breathed not being able to take my eyes off her. "God, you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen on this whole earth."
Green's dad patted my shoulders with a proud grumble. Of course, he agrees with me, he is her daughter.
"Okay, picture time." Green's mom came with the magic frame.
Green stood next to me with a smile, literally grinning in excitement.
"Wait," I stopped before putting the thread and daisy bracelet on her.
Green gave me a small peck on my cheek before hugging me from the side and posing for the picture.
After all the pictures were taken, we left for the prom.
"Are you excited?" Green asked once we entered the hallways to the prom room.
I stopped her and turned her towards me.
God, I couldn't take my eyes off her. Why is she so freaking beautiful?
Slowly leaning down, I cupped her chin and took her lips into mine. Green melted on that kiss and pulled me closer, deepening the kiss.
I could never get tired of kissing Green. God, I would never get bored over anything related to Green.
"Elijah," I heard Greg hissing my name.
Both of us broke the kiss like two kids who were caught.
Shit.
We're still keeping our relationship a secret. And we are on the school grounds with so many people around us.
God, why haven't I thought of it before?
"Did anyone see?" I looked at Greg with worry.
He shook his head. But I could hear him warning me to be careful.
Green's eyes were still filled with haze as she looked at me. I gently moved a strand of her hair behind her hair before hugging her tight.
Every minute I am away from Green feels like hell and I don't even want to think of a life without her.
"We'll go come," I took her hands as we three walked inside the hall.
It was filled with students talking, drinking, and dancing.
The whole place was lit with nothing but candles of various sizes. It was decorated with daisies, roses, and lilies.
Wow, this place is beautiful.
Just as we entered, a beautiful melody started playing.
"My Lady, will you do me the honor of dancing with me?" I put my hand forward, bending.
"I would love to," Green giggled as we joined the dance floor.
Green put her hands on my shoulder and leaned her head on my chest with a sigh. I held her by the hips, pulling her as close as possible. With that, we lost ourselves to the melody.
I am not sure about many things in my life. But one thing I am sure about is my Green and how much I love her. When I saw her for the first time, I knew that she was someone I meant to spend the rest of my life with.
Being with Green only made me want to be a better person for her. She made me bring the best version of myself. The softer version.
At that moment, I had everything I ever wanted.
Family. Love. Friends. Happiness.
I had everything only to go home to the news of Zendaya leaving our coven to be with humans. She wanted me to accompany her but she knew that I could never live without seeing my Green.
We fought. Fought hard. She left. I stayed. And that was the last time I saw my mom.
