CH 6 | MRS. KIM

His gaze was staring through my soul while his orbs didn’t leave mine even for a jiffy. His lunar orbs were shimmering with the amber rays of the chandelier hanging up in the hall's center, illuminating light. Everything seemed blurry except him and his gaze was bewitching.” You thought.

Elongating his hand toward you, Taehyung looked at you to slide your hand in his and you reluctantly did before stepping down the last step of the staircase. Gazing into each other's orbs, you could feel drawing in his captivating ones.

“Just stop it here, Y/n. He is your enemy.” You thought. “Stop it, Taehyung. She is just your enemy, nothing else.” The sentence rushed through Taehyung’s mind.

You all heard the lavish door of the hall opening and the heavy sound of the footsteps reached your eardrums when your and Taehyung's as well as all the pair of eyes were directed towards the man who entered the hall making your heart sink.

You could feel your stomach churning up as your heart started accelerating in an instant. Gulping down a lump in your throat you let out a whisper, “Uncle Lee?” You were too shocked to see him here, "Why is he here? I didn't invite him."

You let out a shaky breath before twitching your orbs back at Taehyung who almost instantly looked at you at the same time as you let out a whisper yell, "What is he doing here? Did you invite him?" You asked in a whisper with your furrowed eyebrows while he raised one of his eyebrows.

"Why would I? I think your uncle likes to invade someone's party without any invitation." He sucked in his teeth when you turned around as your gaze met the dark ones of uncle Lee Hyun-Ki.

He was donned in an all-black shirt and suit jacket along with the pants as his dark and cunning aura was resonating all over the dingy hall while the other spotlight was following his heavy footsteps making your heartbeat race, “I don’t know why is he even here? I just don’t like his aura.” You thought to yourself as Lee Lim halted his steps just in front of you and Taehyung with his assistant and secretary standing behind him.

A simper approached his visage as soon as his eyes met your perplexed yet plucky ones before he said, “Oh my niece is getting married and didn’t invite me to her wedding?” He asked in an annoyed and questionable tone.

You squint your eyes before whispering, “Why would I? After our meet from the day before yesterday?” You retorted while Taehyung raised one of his brows as your hold over his hand stiffened, “Even if she is afraid, she doesn’t lose her courage. That is what makes her different from others.”

Taehyung was looking at you with his ardor orbs as he threw a glare at Lee Hyun-Ki who had his eyebrows furrowed after you answered him back. But soon his expression turned vacant when he twitched his orbs toward Taehyung, “So you are the one who encouraged her into this wedding, hmm?”

Taehyung let out a calm sigh as he took a glance at you while you were already looking at him as he traced his orbs southward to your lips before looking back at Lee Lim and leaning in against his ear, “Of course. How could I let Mr. Lee’s hard work slip into the filthy hand of yours?”

You stared at Taehyung’s side profile before reading Lee Hyun-Ki's visage, his orbs turned dark just as Taehyung finished his sentence when Lee Hyun-Ki said, “You think you can save my brother’s company by marrying my niece-”

Taehyung interrupted him midway, “Don’t call Mr. Lee, your brother.” He declared as Lee Hyun-Ki let out a light chuckle, “You think marrying her will make me stop? There are many other ways. Anything can happen to her. You won’t be able to do anything.”

Taehyung clenched his jaw as he glared at Lee Lim before whispering, “Same can happen to you. I have hundreds of ways to kill you and more than half of them will look like an accident.” Taehyung declared while retreating you couldn’t hear him all this while other than watching their expressions change.

Lee Hyun-Ki and Taehyung threw daggers at each other while all the pair of eyes present in the hall were curious about what was whisper talking going on between you three.

Taehyung stretched his hand toward the exit door for Lee Hyun-Ki to egress the hall while having a gratifying expression on his visage, "I will see you soon." You blinked.

You let out a sigh as Lee Hyun-Ki stepped out of the hall with his assistant and secretary, you and Taehyung looked at each other simultaneously before he raised his left eyebrow at you, probably wanting something to hear from you but you squint your eyes, and threw a glare at him, “If you are expecting a ‘Thank you’ then you aren’t getting one.” You declared.

He sighed before elongating his intertwined hand with yours and letting go of your hand, gingerly. Leaning against your ears making your breath hitch as you couldn’t retreat before he whispered, “Aren’t you getting comfortable holding my hand?” He drew back while you gulped down before you gazed at him and whispered, “Never!”

The reception continued as you were standing together at the platform while the guests were congratulating you both with gifts and flowers when you looked at Taehyung’s mother making her way toward the stage.

Taehyung didn’t take notice as he was busy on a call before he made his way down the stage and walked toward Seokjin sitting on the high stool across the bar counter.

You shake your head left and right before you bowed at Taehyung’s mother as her orbs glistened while she had a mild smile on her visage when she took you in her embrace taking you aback but you slid your hands at her back, “Congratulations on your wedding. I am Taehyung’s mother.” She whispered in a soft tone.

You smiled, “Thank you, ma’am. I knew it when I saw you for the first time.” You pressed your lips together before parting away from her embrace.

“We haven’t met before. Hope you know my name.” You said as she nodded, “Of course, I know Y/n.” You smiled as she elongated a bouquet towards you to hold onto as you did, “I should call, Taehyung.” Just as you finished your sentence she clutched onto your hand making your movements halt.

“He won’t come. He has gone on purpose.” She declared as you knitted your eyebrows together before scrutinizing her orbs which were watery and held the drops of tears on the bottom of the eyelid when a tear gushed down her cheeks.

“Hey! Are you okay, ma’am?” She nodded, promptly as she wiped the moisture instantly with the back of her hand as you rested your hands on her upper arms, “I just got emotional. Be happy. And here. I got a gift for you.” She said, taking out a small violet velvet box from her clutch and stretching towards you, “This is for you and Taehyung.” You gazed into her orbs before taking the gift, “Thank you so much, ma’am.”

“Hope you will like it. And if possible please call me… Mom.” She completed as you smiled and nodded before she made her way out of there.

Concurrently, Taehyung sat beside Seokjin on the high stool across the bar counter of the hall. He looked at Seokjin taking a sip from the glass of his whiskey when Taehyung asked, “Does it taste good?”

Seokjin twitched his head in Taehyung’s direction before letting out a chuckle, “Is it a thing to ask?” He threw another question as Taehyung patted the wooden bar counter with his palm to get a glass of whiskey for himself.

“You are missing them, right?” Taehyung asked as Seokjin ceased midway when he was about to take another sip and took a glance at Taehyung before placing the whiskey glass back on the table, “Yeah, maybe. I talked with Aeri the day before yesterday.” Seokjin declared.

Taehyung turned around his stool to face Seokjin, “Did you try talking with Yeji about the divorce? Do you both really want it?” Taehyung asked as Seokjin nodded, “Yeah. She says this is the best decision. After our divorce, she will move to London with Aeri.”

Taehyung poked his inner cheek with his tongue, “What about you? She can’t do this. You should take Aeri’s custody. I won’t let her go with Yeji in London.”

Seokjin let out a sigh, “Don’t even try, Taehyung. Yeji can’t live without Aeri. She loves her the most-” Taehyung interrupted, “Don’t you?” He asked as Seokjin quaffed down the leftover whiskey from his glass, “I do. I love them both, that’s why I can’t see Yeji like this.”

“I don’t understand what the heck is love. When you love someone to the extent that you become selfless and are always ready to give up on your happiness. These f*cking feelings are at fault.” Taehyung thought, taking a sip from his glass of whiskey.

He heard Seokjin, “Moreover, it was just a marriage of convenience but Yeji and I fell in love unconditionally and Aeri is the result. Yeji just doesn’t want to be with me. Our arguments and fights are not good for Aeri to grow up in the environment."

"Aeri deserves a better father than me. Moreover, Yeji just declared that she wants a divorce from me. We love each other but were never able to understand each other in these six years of marriage. All we do is fight.” Seokjin declared.

Seokjin leaned back on the stool and let out a sigh, “You are a great father, Hyung. Try to bring them back. There are still six months left in the divorce.” Taehyung declared in hope that his brother won’t let it happen.

Seokjin turned towards him, “I hope nothing like this happens between you and Y/n.” Taehyung's heart skipped a beat at your name as he looked at Seokjin before gazing back at your physique who was talking with his mother.

As Taehyung saw his mother giving you the velvet violet box which you accepted with a smile before she made her way down from the platform, “Go back to Y/n. I know why you came here.” Seokjin declared as they both made eye contact with each other, “Don’t drink much.”

Seokjin raised both of his hands in the air, “I am done for today. I have to drive back home too.” Taehyung patted his shoulder before he made his way back to the platform, not taking notice as his mother walked past him.

“He won’t come. He has gone on purpose.” These words rushed through your head, “Is he angry with his mom? He doesn’t talk with her.” You came out of your reverie when you heard an octave's deep voice, “Are you ready to share a house with me, Mrs. Kim?” He completed his sentence making your eyes widen at how he finished that sentence with a whisper calling you Mrs. Kim.

Your heart skipped a beat doing a flip which accelerated quickly, “I have to share a house with him. This isn’t going well. I hate it.” “Don’t call me that.” You hissed at him as he simpered looking down at you.

“You can’t run away from the truth now, Mrs. Kim.” Taehyung declared, aligning his visage just in front of you while you looked at him with your heart hammering inside your ribcage which was tickling with collywobbles.
