CH 4 | MAKE ME
"Taehyung…" Taehyung heard a familiar yet strange voice coming from behind as his movements halted before his visage turned vacant.
"What is she doing here?" Taehyung thought before turning around to look at the one who whispered his name, "Taehyung, I am so happy for you that you are getting married." She said with a gentle smile on her face as Seokjin smiled looking at her, "Yes, Taehyung. Mom is here to congratulate you."
Taehyung took a glance at his mother, Kim Ji-Min, and then back at his brother as they both shared a few seconds of eye contact. They both were hearing the silent talks within them as Taehyung let out a sigh.
Looking back at his mother, Taehyung asked, "You came taking some time out for… me!" He raised one of his eyebrows as his mother pressed his lips together while Taehyung slipped his hand inside his pockets.
Curving her lips again in a mild smile as she looked at Taehyung, "How would I not be in my son's marriage?" Taehyung raised one of his eyebrows, "Oh, from when you started considering me as your son?" Taehyung asked as his mother said, "What are you saying? You are my son."
Taehyung opened his mouth, "I am-" He stopped when Seokjin placed his hand on Taehyung's shoulder, "Taehyung, stop it. Just don't start today. It's a special day for you."
Taehyung sucked in his teeth, "It's time." He whispered while his mother looked at Taehyung with her glistened orbs.
As Taehyung was about to exit the dressing room, his mother whispered, "Congratulations on your marriage."
Taehyung opened the door before exiting the room while Seokjin looked at his mother, "Don't worry, Mom. Everything will be fine. He will be okay." Mrs. Kim looked at Seokjin, "But when? Jin. When? I don't even know why he is like this to me." Seokjin embraced Mrs. Kin in his embrace while patting her back, "It's okay, Mom. I am there for you. Taehyung will also be… someday."
Taehyung took in deep breaths as all the past reminiscence rushed through his mind, "I am not going to forgive her for what she did. She is no one to me—everything she has done to Dad. Dad couldn't take it. He went away from me, from us because of her."
Pulling the cloth of his tie, Taehyung breathed out unevenly before holding onto the railing of the hallways with his palms, firmly.
Clenching his eyes shut, he could feel his hands quivering while his throat went dry almost instantly, "You can't let the past dominate you, Taehyung. Get over it. It will only worsen."
Trying to simmer down his breath but his chest was heaving up and down, uncertainty, and all he could do was nothing. His past was trying to get over his present.
"Mr. Kim Taehyung. You told me to get ready in 15 minutes and you are still here. Aren't you getting late now?" You declared standing a meter away from you holding a handful of your gown in your palms.
Knitting your eyebrows together, you scrutinized his physique when you didn't get any response from him when you took steps towards him, "Did you change your mind, hmm?" You asked standing just behind him when he promptly turned around to look at you.
His sudden twitching around made your eyes widen as you overbalanced on your feet and your heels were stuck in the material of your gown which was just the cherry on the top. You let out a light squeal from your throat as you plunged while your hand trying to seek for something to hold onto.
Clutching onto Taehyung's upper arms, your head collided with his chest as you pulled yourself to him while he instantly embraced you in his arms, placing his hands at your back, holding you stiffly yet gingerly.
You looked up with your heart hammering inside your chest while cartwheeling in its position as his touch was just icing on the cake over your white pearly wedding gown shimmering through the ambiance lights illuminating the hallway.
"Do you want to test me?" Your eyebrows met at your glabella when you heard him say, making you look at him in befuddlement, "What do you mean?" You retorted as he gazed down in your eyes through your soul, "That will I hold you or not?" You raised your eyebrow, "I don't need to test you for that, okay? I can take care of myself." You threw daggers at him but could sense the pain in his eyes.
Furrowing your eyebrows, you sensed the anxiety all over his face which went away in a jiffy, "I can't understand him. He has many secrets buried deep inside." Taehyung doesn't want anyone to see his scars. Not even his close ones.
“I have got that compliment a lot, that I am handsome. You can stop staring at me with those hazel eyes of yours.” He pointed out while you squinted, your eyes at him for a second.
“Umm huh, but you don’t have qualities within you.” You retorted as he raised one of his brows, “You think so? I do have other qualities too.” You nodded, licking your lips before saying, “Oh! Tell me if you have one.” You gazed into his lunar orbs when a simper replaced his parted lips, “You haven’t told me to let go of you till now. Does that count?”
He raised one of his eyebrows when your eyes enlarged as you instantly stood on your feet, balancing yourself on the marble floor and promptly let go of his biceps before nudging him away by pushing his chest as his hips collided with the railing making him let out a chuckle.
“Pervert. Don’t touch me again.” You declared but didn’t get any response in return instead he said, “Let’s get married now.” He declared while you blinked a couple of times at the way he just casually said it before you shake your head, left to right while he made his way towards the end of the staircase, “She changed her lipstick.”
You gritted your teeth, glaring at his back before walking towards him as he twitched his head in your direction when his heart skipped a beat as he took in your appearance, “I didn’t notice her till now but she was looking alluring. Walking towards me like an angel in disguise. Her orbs were the twinkling stars as if seeking their moon while her pinky lips were looking as soft as a plum tree flower."
“The tangerine tincture rays skimmed against her pale skin making it gleam and the strand of her tresses was still hindering her cheek. She had everything a man seeks in women but our destinies wanted something else from us. Mr. Lee would have been so happy to be here, seeing you get married.” Taehyung thought.
Taehyung wasn’t able to take his orbs away from you until you reached him as you squinted your eyes at him, “Were you staring at me?” You asked as he unwittingly answered, “Mr. Lee would have been happy to see you like this.” He blustered out while your visage went vacant all of a sudden, remembering about your father and why he wasn’t with you. Taehyung noticed the change in your expression.
“He isn’t here because of you.” You declared as Taehyung blinked twice before poking his inner cheek with his tongue as somewhere he knew he was the reason behind all this, “I know, he isn't here because of me and I know you won’t forgive me for that. If I were in your shoe, then I also would have done the same.”
“Think whatever you want.” He declared as you looked away with your glistened orbs as you blinked your tears off, “You are gonna pay for it.” You whispered before turning back to him, “Make me.” He whispered, clicking his tongue and looking ahead of himself.
Stretching his hand to you, gesturing you to hold it as you gulped down a lump in your throat before sliding your hand in his as he felt your smooth hand skimming against his when he held it firmly yet delicately. You took a glance at him, “He is something else the first second and the opposite the next.”
Stepping down the staircase, you both were met by the guests standing up in their places to welcome you both.
The guests applauded while you both walked down the aisle towards the altar while the flashlights of the cameras were making your eyes hurt.
It was the first time when you have entered this kind of atmosphere and all you could feel was nervousness and anxiety as the hold on Taehyung’s hand stiffened on the way towards the altar making Taehyung take a glance at you, prior to he rubbed the pad of his thumb at the back of your hand to relax your perturbed self.
Sensing his touch, you took a glance at his side profile as your heart skipped a beat in that jiffy, “I won’t be able to understand him.” You took a glance at a woman who was in his late forties, looking at Taehyung while behind her a lad stood with a mild smile on his visage.
He seemed similar to you when you remembered that you had seen him in the news, “He is Taehyung’s elder brother and she must be Taehyung’s mother.”
Standing at the altar as you twitched your orbs all over the decoration of the hall as it was pretty decent which was the contrast of white and black as well as rose gold, “Beautiful.”
The priest started to read out the vows while the guests took their seats, Taehyung and you were staring at each other when you looked at your hand which was still in his vast ones.
You traced down his eyes as he wasn’t a bit tense, he was standing there with his back straight while his black tuxedo was complimenting his skin, “He’s so confident.”
“Do you take Ms. Lee as your lawful wife?” The priest asked as Taehyung said, “I do.” The guest acclaimed once again as the priest turned toward you, “Do you take Mr. Kim Taehyung as your lawful husband?” You took a deep breath before looking ahead yourself in Taehyung’s orbs which were already gazing at you.
Gulping down a lump in your throat, you felt your stomach churning up while your heart did a cartwheel inside your chest, “I can do this.”
You parted your lips, “I do.” You whispered as the guest clapped in acclamation. “Please exchange the wedding rings.” One of the helpers bought the rings as you both took the rings out of the ring box before you stretched your hand out.
Taehyung glided the ring on your finger while you did the same with him as you noticed his veiny honey hands as his slender fingers were just cherry on the top, they were strangely captivating when he propped his hand back on its prior position.
“Now, you may kiss the bride.” The priest announced making your eyes widen, “What the f*ck?”
