The whole story
Destiny couldn't believe he would say stuff like that.
What the hell is wrong with Wyatt.
She stormed up the stairs to the earth controllers section.
She was looking for Eric. Eric was like her best friend since being there.
He understood her. He respected her. He was kind and sweet to her.
As she made her way up the stairs to the lounge area of the earth section, she saw no one in the lounge area. So she decided to knock on Eric's door.
No answer.
What the hell? She knocked harder.
Still. No answer.
She sighed and leaned against the railing of the lounge room.
"Looking for someone?" She heard a familiar voice call out from the main stairwell.
She glanced over the railing down at the main stairwell. It was Selene.
"Yeah Eric, do you know where he is by any chance?" She asked her.
"Oh he's probably wandered off someone out and about. Why? What do you need dear?" She asked Destiny kindly.
"Just advice to be completely honest and a full story." She replied.
"Advice on what? And a full story about what?" Selene asked with a puzzled look on her face.
Destiny looked around to make sure no one was in ear shot before giving her answer.
"Roman" she replied.
"Ah yes he is a very interesting subject to talk about" Selene smiled.
"See? And why is that?" Destiny asked.
"Honey, as the oldest 'child' of this group let me just say I've seen a lot" Selene said vaguely while putting the word child in quotes.
"Like what?" Destiny pushed.
"I'm not so sure if you'd like to hear about it all" Selene told her honestly.
"See? What is up with this? Everyone acts like he's some monster when clearly he's nothing of the sort. And yes I do want to hear it that's why I asked." Destiny rambled.
"Okay okay, calm down my dear." Selene said gently.
"I'll explain everything to you but I'm not so sure how you'll feel afterwards." She said.
Destiny waited patiently with her head resting on her hand with her elbow on the back of the couch.
"Roman is quite troubled, I guess you could say. He is not like the rest of us. His power is harder to use in a good way than the rest of our are. And he's quite badly tempered and can't control his abilities the greatest"
Destiny nodded. Wyatt had explained most of that stuff to her already. She was just waiting for the new stuff.
"And because of the fact that he is badly tempered and doesn't have much control I'm sure you can imagine what he was like when Lady Willow found him..." Selene continued
"We've had Roman as a part of our family for 70 years now. And he is still very out of control of his abilities and his mood swings don't help at all with that issue."
Destiny listened.
"So you saw earlier when he was just simply having a bad dream and started a whole forest fire? That's nothing compared to when he's angry...or feeling any strong emotion really. The difference is when he's angry the fires are violent. The same thing happens when he's very jealous. But when he's sad the fires almost seem like they're sharing the same emotion, they're slow and painful, still strong but not violent. And when he's extremely happy it's almost like the fires are happy as well. When he's happy the fires aren't violent or strong or dangerous. They're beautiful and exciting." Selene explained.
To Destiny that seemed like a very unlucky power to behold and it sounded like it too from everything she's heard so far.
"And so when we found Roman, he was abandoned, all alone. You can imagine how he was feeling being abandoned. Over time it became less of a sad and lonely feeling and more of a rage filled feeling. There used to be many many more beings like us. There used to be more earth and air beings many many more actually. They weren't related to Eric and Elena and their family and the air controllers that were once here weren't related to Arlo or Anna or Arielle. They were simply just beings who controlled elements like us." Selene told her.
"Well why aren't they here anymore what happened to them?" Destiny asked curiously
"Roman lived a very angry life after what he had been through. Any little thing would send him over the edge. Even just a person passing by..." Selene trailed off.
Destiny's face dropped.
"Roman killed them. The other air and earth and water controllers that used to live in this very world with us. They're all dead now because Roman lost control and killed every last one of them." Selene spoke angrily.
"Oh my god" Destiny whispered.
"Mhm. So the next time someone thinks or talks badly about Roman, it may not be the best idea to stand up for him. That's just my opinion. Unless you want to defend a mass murderer" Selene said in a very biased way.
"What? That's insane. Its not his fault. He couldn't control it. He can't help what he is." Destiny defended Roman.
"I said what i said. Think what you want my dear I was just telling the truth how it is" Selena said.
Destiny was so shocked by what she had heard she didn't know what to feel. She ran upstairs to the earth controllers section again and dropped herself on the couch as tears were slowly streaming down her face.
Destiny laid there and cried and cried and cried. She could not believe that this was how his entire family thought about him. There's no possible way they all think this horribly of him. And if he was so horrible why would Lady Willow keep him around?
Something was not adding up. Destiny wanted to know what wasn't being spoken about.
And she planned on finding out for herself.
