Listening To The Heart Part 2

"What the fuck?"

Roman and Destiny jumped away from each other when they heard the voice.

They both quickly looked over to see Eric standing there with his face angry and his arms crossed.

"Eric h-hi" Destiny stuttered in nervousness.

"Hi" he said in a not so happy tone of voice.

"Umm" she started and glanced over at Roman.

"Me and Roman were just talking, after what happened today" Destiny told him.

"Right" Eric said, clearly not buying her story.

"It looked like you were doing so much talking" he said sarcastically.

"Look it wasn't what it looked like" Destiny tried to explain the situation without ratting them both out.

That's when Roman stepped in.

"Look man, it was my fault, I made the first move" Roman explained without it completely being a lie.

Destiny looked at him and bit her lip nervously.

Eric had just talked to her about this very thing the day before, so of course he was gonna be pissed and he had every right to be.

"That shouldn't have mattered. I'd think by now Destiny should know better" Eric said with a very angry face as he glanced over at Destiny with a clenched jaw.

Destiny looked down at her feet. It was obvious she made Eric very disappointed and that made her feel hurt and guilty.

"Woah woah woah..what the fuck do you mean by 'Destiny should know better'?" Roman asked.

Eric looked up at him, his stance strong and challenging.

"Come on Rome, you know what I mean" Eric fake smiles at him.

"No I think you need to wipe that smile off your face amd explain to me right now just what the fuck you mean" Roman stepped closer to Eric.

His hands were warming up and his palms were turning a dark orange color.

"Woah relax Roman. Wouldn't want to start another forest fire" Eric told him.

Roman lost his cool right then and there legitimately because in that instant he landed a fairly quick punch to Eric's jaw which Destiny could see when Eric turned back to face them that the contact caused his skin to burn.

Before Destiny could interfere a booming voice broke up the fight.

All three of them glanced down at the staircase.

Only for them to see Lady Willow standing about halfway up the staircase to Romans floor.

"What is going on up here?' she asked in a much calmer tone.

Suddenly Romans entire tone and body language changed.

That was strange.

"Nothing Lady Willow, we were simply having a disagreement" Roman explained without throwing either of them to her as shark bait.

This was interesting. Why has his entire persona changed when Lady Willow entered?

Lady Willow glanced at Eric, who's wound had seemed to heal incredibly quickly.

It had gone from bright red and bloody just moments ago to know just a slightly pink.

"I sure hope so, because you boys know I don't condone fighting in my home" she told them sternly.

"Yes my Lady" Eric said politely as his eyes shot daggers at Roman.

"Goodnight boys" she said in a warm tone as she made her way back down the spiral staircase.

"What the hell was that?" Destiny asked Roman quickly in a hushed voice.

"What was what?" He asked as he looked down at her.

"Your whole attitude change as soon as she came up here?" Destiny asked.

"I'm-" Roman started to say but was very quickly cut off when Eric grabbed Destiny's arm and yanked her from the conversation.

"What the-?" Destiny started but Eric interrupted her.

"You're coming with me, there's no need for you to be up here" he told her strictly as he led her down the stairs.

"Eric" Destiny yelled his name.

"Let go of me! Why can't I just simply talk to someone in this house without you getting upset and all overprotective?"

Eric raised his eyebrows in question before speaking angrily.

"Well for one Des, you were not 'simply talking' and for two you can talk to whoever you'd like to talk to in this house except-"

"I'd like to talk to Roman" Destiny cut him off quickly.

"Ah yes everyone except him" Eric continued.

"But why?" she was getting more and more frustrated every time someone scolded her for even being around the man.

What was so wrong with talking? No harm could come from talking so what was everyone's problem? Or rather what the fuck was Eric's problem?

"Because I said so Destiny, and I shouldn't have to tell you over and over to get it through your head that I don't want you talking to that man" Eric hated how close she had gotten with Roman recently.

What was so special about Roman that drew her to him? Not that he cared much, or maybe he did...no no no he couldn't dwell on that thought, he just didn't want to see her hurt..that was all.

Destiny crossed her arms and stared at him.

"And what if he told me that he didn't want me around you?" She challenged him.

Eric looked her dead in the eyes and said.

"HE doesn't tell YOU what to do. You don't listen to a word that man tells you is that understood?" Eric told her.

"You know what Eric you're right" she started.

Eric rolled his eyes "I know I'm right"

"No, you're right about him not telling me what to do, because he's not controlling like you are!" She yelled at him and quickly turned around.

"You better not be going back up there Destiny." He told her sternly.

"Im going to my room you controlling piece of shit!" She yelled down the stairs at him and stormed the rest of the way up the spiral staircase to the attic.

She walked into the room and slammed the door closed behind her.

Her back against the door as her body slowly slid to the floor.

Her arms came up to encircle her legs as he hid her face.

Why did he care so much? It wasn't his love life that he was messing with...
