a/n: you guys are forever gonna hate me for this.
Emery and Sirius were in the library, solving the code her father sent.
Emery suddenly looked up. Sirius was close to her, their noses almost inches apart.
He leaned closer, their lips almost about to meet. Their breaths mingled together, and just before the gap was sealed, Emery remembered that they were supposed to be working.
She immediately snapped out of her daze and continued to solve the letter, ignoring the heated moment that occurred between them.
After working for hours, Emery looked out the window.
"It's dark," she whispered to the boy opposite her. "Let's go."
Sirius smiled at her, his eyes twinkling in the dim firelight. "Let's go," he repeated.
While he stood up, Emery tripped, Sirius catching her swiftly. "You alright?" he asked.
She nodded, staring at his flawless face. She didn't mind being in his arms, they felt like home. His comforting smell always made her blush, and this time was no different.
"Emery," he whispered.
"Sirius," she hummed back, enjoying the way he said her name with so much emotion.
Sirius leaned closer, but Emery grabbed his shoulder, leaning on it to stand upright.
"I want to show you something," she suggested, pulling him outside Fowl library.
She took his large hand in his, tugging him to follow her, blushing all the way.
Sirius felt sparks shoot up his arm where she touched him. His heart was thumping loudly. Emery was grinning at him every few seconds, sending him that mischievous smile that made him go weak in the knees.
Eagerly following her up the spiral staircase, he watched as she took him to one of the towers in Fowl Manor.
"This is my room," she whispered, pulling him in and shutting the door behind her.
It was dark, the room only lit by the moonlight. Sirius didn't have time to look around, because Emery had placed her hands on his eyes.
His face burned as her warm hands covered his eyes, and he smiled. "What are you doing to me?" he muttered.
"Follow me," said Emery softly, leading him straight on.
Sirius followed her movements as she guided him with her hands which were still covering his eyes. He could smell her jasmine scent, and her seductive perfume as it enveloped his senses.
All of a sudden, cool air hit his face, and he knew he was outside.
Emery whispered in his ear. "Open," she said, letting go of his face and removing her hands from his eyes.
Sirius opened his eyes, suddenly feeling his heart thump faster.
He was in a balcony, the sky littered with stars. "It's beautiful," he sighed, looking at the wonderful view before him.
Emery stood behind him. "It's my favorite place," she admitted, standing next to him, their hands both on the railing.
Sirius looked at her quickly, then, catching her eye, looked away, smiling.
Emery blushed. She had no idea where she got the confidence to show him her room, but whenever he flashed that smirk, she just wanted to pause the moment and play it on loop.
She inched closer to him, then stole a glance at his handsome features.
He caught her looking, then smirked, leaving her blushing once more.
Sirius placed his hands on the railing, letting out a small puff of breath. All his thoughts were occupied by the blonde witch near him.
They were staring at the scenery, both caught up in their own little moment.
Emery's shoulder was brushing against Sirius' and she felt warm and fuzzy as she felt his hard muscles touch hers.
She tried to glance at him again, and once more, he caught her.
She quickly looked away, her heart fluttering, her cheeks flushed.
The moon shined on their faces, causing their skin to appear glowing.
Emery looked at the sky, lost in her own thoughts.
Out of the blue, she broke the silence. "When it's real, you can't walk away," she murmured softly.
Sirius turned his head sharply. "What?" he asked, his heart suddenly beating faster.
"My dad used to say that," she replied. "When it's real, you can't walk away."
Sirius turned to face her, but she was looking straight ahead.
The meaning of her words echoed in his head, and he suddenly began smiling.
Sirius raised his hand and held her shoulder, turning her slightly to face him.
Emery turned her body, now facing Sirius, butterflies in her stomach. His hand was on her shoulder, and he was staring at her intensely.
She could smell his cologne as it intoxicated her like a drug, and his comforting smell of firewhiskey made her heart beat erratically fast.
Her eyes widened, and she looked at his neck, his Adam's apple bobbing as he spoke.
"Look at me, darling," he murmured, using his free hand to turn her face to him. With those four words, Emery was lost, the butterflies in her stomach turning into an army of buffaloes.
Sirius's stormy grey eyes bored into Emery's. Her heart was thumping.
Sirius pulled her closer, making their chests almost touch.
"Sirius," gasped Emery, breathlessly.
"Emery," Sirius breathed, taking her face in his hands.
He tilted her chin up, leaning closer.
Emery was breathing harder, her cheeks a shade of dark red.
Their breaths mingled, and they leaned closer, only an inch between their lips.
Sirius closed the distance, and his lips brushed over Emery's, just the tiniest bit.
And the whole world came crashing down.
Emery's lips suddenly felt alive, and all that mattered was him.
Sirius' lips were still touching hers, and then he pulled away, his heartbeat intensified a thousand times more.
He gazed into her beautiful blue eyes, lit up in the starlight.
He grabbed her face again, and Emery felt her breath hitch as she looked into his mesmerizing orbs.
And then their lips met. Emery shut her eyes, smiling into his lips.
They were kissing.
A warm voice sounded from afar.
Someone was calling her...
"Emery."
"Emery, darling."
"Emery."
Emery suddenly opened her eyes, taking in her surroundings. Her smile was still present.
She was in a large bed, amidst fluffy duvets.
"Emery," came her mother's voice. "I've been trying to wake you for ages, love."
Emery closed her eyes, thinking of her dream.
What kind of inappropriate dream was it?
"You were smiling in your dream," said her mother. "Must've been a good one."
"Hmm," Emery said nonchalantly.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
She quickly rushed out of bed, heading into the shower.
What kind of a dream was that? He doesn't like me that way. Gross, gross, gross. How the hell was I dreaming of kissing him when I've never even kissed someone?
She groaned.
I have to stay away from him. Whatever the cost.
Her brain made it's decision, her heart disagreeing. Emery thought of her dream once more, and she suddenly felt weird inside.
She would avoid him.
Oh, Merlin, help! I can't get this stupid image out of my head. Ah, damn, you, Emery Fowl's subconscious. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Why him?
That was when Emery Fowl knew that she had a crush on Sirius Black.
a/n: I'm not sorry.
