CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

Leyona was dreaming again.

This time, she was in a garden. Flowers of all shapes and sizes bloomed, but they didn't cause her senses to overload, like they usually did in the first couple days.

It was the same as last time, she couldn't move on her own accord, only look in the area that the person was, and basically just be useless person observing.

She couldn't hear anything either, once again, so she just kinda watched as the person turned around. For reason Leyona got the feeling that she was smiling.

What appeared to be a younger version of Aoi came charging out of the estate. She looked less tired, the shadows under her eyes less pronounced, and looked far more healthy. Shouting a name, Leyona couldn't hear what, much to her frustration. Younger Aoi was holding a sword, waving it around and saying something about it.

Two questions: Why did Aoi have a sword? She wore a demon slayer uniform, but she didn't go on missions. Kanao never explained that to her.

The other question: How did she know what they were talking about? Or at last the gist of it.

The two exchanged words, Leyona was pretty sure about something to do with breathing techniques, before Young Aoi rushed off, shouting something over her shoulder, this time Leyona could hear it.

"I'll see you later Kanae!"

Leyona was someplace different. She could actually control her body, for once, could hear the crashing of waves and the booming of thunder, and she appeared to be on an island, surrounded by a stormy sea. Lightning struck the waters, followed by another harsh clap of thunder, and Leyona jolted back.

Just a moment ago she was at the Butterfly Estate. Why was she suddenly on an island?

"This is the embodiment of your mind. All the emotions you currently feel, memories, and how you see the world are formed here." A voice, soothing and slightly high pitched, clearly feminine, spoke. Leyona whirled around.

There stood a woman, in her late teens at least, with long black hair and light pink eyes, was standing there. She wore Kanao's haori, over a pink tinted demon slayer uniform. Just above her ears where two pink and green butterfly clips, and she had a gentle smile.

"Who the hell are you?" Leyona asked, reaching for her katana, only to realize it wasn't there. A flash of panic went through her, and the storm behind her cracked and screeched. Lightning struck a tree near Leyona, and she stumbled back.

Suddenly, calmness flooded her, and the storm inched back a bit. "My name is Kanae Kocho." The woman said, giving a very stunned Leyona a smile.

"We have a lot to discuss."

Eotri sneezed on the dust that clouded the bakery's floor. Becoming a demon could cure illnesses, regrow lost limbs, give someone's sight back, and yet a simple dust allergy couldn't be cured.

Or maybe Muzan just hated her?

Yeah, Muzan definitely did.

"Eotri." The demon in question stiffened, her neck practically breaking as she turned around to look at the person at the door. "Oh, Neito. How are you? Need anything?"

The spiky haired demon waved her off as he folded the umbrella. "Just give me a dango to go, please." He watched as Upper One scurried behind the counter, asking her slaves to prepare certain things and to set timers.

Neito glanced at two demons who where talking, very loudly, about him. They shut up and looked away from they saw him staring, however.

As Eotri prepared the dango, he couldn't help but worry about Shinobu. Something told him, deep down, that he must protect her at all costs. He wasn't sure why, maybe because she turned him into a demon?

Neito brushed it off as the baker demon hurried towards him, handing him a brown paper bag and waving him off.

G̶i̶y̶u̶u̶  Neito was just going to check on her, just to be safe.

"Uh, hello! We'd like a room here!

Maaya, Leyona, and Aya had gotten off the train, all three with varying expressions. Leyona looked haunted and surprised, Aya concerned and a bit sleepy, and Maaya dead tired and looking wary of everyone, not anyone noticed.

They were currently trying to book a room in the local inn, simply called 'The Inn'. Two people where at the front desk, a slightly fat black haired boy wearing a pale green coat over a white shirt and black pants, his feet propped up on the desk, leaning on a chair. His green eyes where scanning the pages of a book, not even looking up when the bell chimed as the slayers opened the door.

The second was a tall, lean girl, slightly shorter than Leyona. Brown hair tipped with mint green, the same shade as her eyes. She was wearing a white shirt with something in English on it-Leyona could make out the word 'simp' on it, whatever that meant-and black pants. Dark freckles were scattered over her nose and cheeks, in contrast to her slightly pale skin, sitting on the desk and writing something on a notepad.

The girl looked up, flashed them a fanged smile, then went back to her notepad. Leyona shifted on her feet.

Where they deaf for something?

Maaya smiled and tried again. "Do you have any spare rooms for us?"

Silence again, until the fanged girl broke it, looking up at the trio. "Eh, maybe. Gonna have to ask Veyrum that one." She had a slight English accent, which made Leyona believe that she was from America or another one of those countries. "Who's Veyrum?" Aya asked, stepping forward. The girl's eyes flickered to Aya, staring at her until the girl seemed uncomfortable. Leyona glared at girl who was holding the notepad.

"I'm Minty, that's Veyrum. Aiden should be around here somewhere." Minty said, waving them off and returning to writing. Silence fell over them again. "Uh....sir? Do you know if you have any rooms available?"

Veyrum flipped a page of his book, burrowing his face deeper into the copper scarf, not giving Aya an answer. His brow furrowed, and Minty snuck a glance over his shoulder at the writing, snorted, then scratched something into the notepad.

"Oh, is he deaf? I'm so sorry didIoffendhiminanyway?" Minty looked up at Aya, staring at her. Leyona and Maaya followed in suit, staring at the girl as she apologized. The girl sitting on the desk looked troubled.

"No, Veyrum just reads and tends to get lost in the book..." Minty trailed off when she realized that she wasn't helping Aya, and at Leyona's more and more pissed off face. Maaya looked fine, but she was secretly getting annoyed.

"Veyrum. Veyrum!" Minty shouted at him. The black haired boy didn't look up. Minty sighed, grabbing the book out of his hands, and Leyona saw her put a finger between the pages to not lose the place.

Veyrum cried out in shock, turning to glare at Minty, who merely smiled back.

"We have guests. Be more professional, seriously Onii-san."

Shattered Legacy Secret

Veyrum, Minty, and Aiden where all adopted by a couple that couldn't have children. They may not be blood related, but they act like siblings, that's for sure.

This is kinda a thank you to Veyrum and Aiden for helping me! Don't worry Aiden, next chapter you'll be here.
