"Why do you seem so quiet today?" I ask, reaching over and stealing a fry from his box. "Usually you're bouncing wall to wall."
"I don't know," Hoseok sighs, resting his chin in his hand, watching me steal his food. "I just want to stay here forever, or stop time so I can have more time."
"Just stay here then," I reply, before I stop. "Oh, I keep forgetting you're a transfer student.."
"I also have a contract with my work that requires me to be in South Korea," Hoseok sadly smiles. "I think I've found what I have been hoping for all my life and I can't even have it."
"If I had a chance to leave this place, I would." I watch a couple arguing at the other side of the room and then make out. "It's a literal dump. No one who has been brought up here stays, unless they themselves are a criminal or simply don't have enough money. What do you do to get fast money? Become a criminal. It's how the system works in this town, ask anyone in here and they would say they would swap lives with you in an instant. You're lucky, you get to live somewhere else and only visit here for what, a couple weeks? All you see in those weeks is what the council wants tourists to see, if you lived here you would understand."
"What about your friends?" Hoseok questions. "Or your family? Would you really just leave them?"
"First of all, I don't have any friends beside you," Hoseok smiles. "And my family wouldn't mind, I admit, at first they would worry but soon they would quickly get over it."
"If you could live anywhere, where would it be?" Hoseok suddenly asks. "Anywhere."
"I'm not sure," I think about all the places I want to visit. "I have always wanted to go on a road trip through Canada and America but I'm not setting foot in America until they have a new president, Japan has always been a special place for me and South Korea seems nice, you say it's nice."
"Okay so," Hoseok pouts whilst he thinks. "America but not yet, Japan and South Korea. Interesting, so are you a weeaboo or a koreaboo?"
"Oi!" I kick him in the leg. "Don't you dare, in middle school I was always called a weeaboo because I watched anime and liked the sakura."
"Did you buy loads of pocky and pretend to be Japanese?" Hoseok teases me. "Were you the ultimate weeaboo?"
"I've never had pocky," I pout, looking away. "And I have never pretended to be Japanese either, I didn't even bother with learning the language."
"I'm only joking Arya-kun." Hoseok squishes his cheeks together, making me laugh. "I won't call you a weeaboo or a koreaboo from now on, but I'm still going to call you Rudolph."
"My nose isn't even red anymore!" I fold my arms. "You have to let that joke die already."
"Already?" he laughs. "It was only the other day I made the joke!"
"Hoseok, I hold grudges for a very long time," I warn him, trying to sound as menacing as possible. "You don't want to mess with me."
"Sure," he rubs my head, messing up my hair. "I already told you, you're anything but scary."
I stick my tongue out at him.
"Oh, Arya," Hoseok pinches my nose. "You're so cute!"
"Get off me!" I yelp, rubbing my nose. "What was that for?"
"I was beginning to miss your red nose," Hoseok laughs. "You look even cuter!"
"I'm going to beat you up one day," I shake my head. "I bet you're going to go head over hills on Red Nose Day."
"You have a day specifically for red noses?" his jaw nearly hits the floor. "Are you making it up?"
