Chapter 2
*flashback*
"Hey, Dean!"
Castiel was running up to Dean with open arms and his little trenchcoat flapping in the air.
"Hey, Cas––!"
Dean tried catching Castiel but ended up tripping which caused Castiel to trip and fall on top of Dean as they both fell to the ground.
They both got up and started running around.
"Follow me, Dean!"
Castiel yelled as he pulled Dean by his leather coat that his dad gave him which was a little bit too big on him.
"Wha––!"
They just kept running like this until Castiel finally stopped.
"You okay, Cas?"
Dean looked around to see what Castiel was looking at.
There was a beautiful water fall coming off of rocks and into a little lake with the sunlight reflecting off of the blue water.
"Whoa, Cas. How did you find this?"
Castiel looked back at Dean still in awe.
"I don't know. I just decided to start running through here. I didn't even know this was here."
"Wow. Well, we found our own hideout spot, didn't we?"
Castiel's face lit up.
"Yeah! We can come here after school!"
Dean smiled at Castiel's enthusiasm.
"Since we're already here...."
Dean decided to push Castiel into the water.
Castiel shrieked and grabbed onto Dean's arm and pull him in with him.
They both fell into the water.
Castiel came up out of the water laughing and trying to catch his breath.
He looked around, but couldn't find Dean.
"Dean? Dean? Where are you? Dean!"
Castiel was freaking out.
He looked into the water, and found something laying there.
He moved it and it was Dean.
Castiel picked Dean up, carrying him bridal style in his arms as he got out of the water.
He gently set Dean on the ground and moved his head a little bit which revealed a big gash on the back of Dean's head.
Castiel got up and ran to his house where his parents were sitting at the table drinking coffee.
"Castiel, what's wrong? Sweetie, are you okay?"
Castiel was trembling with fear.
"It–– it's–– it's D–– it's Dean"
"Wha–– where is he?"
Castiel grabbed his mom by the arm and started pulling her into the woods where he and Dean were at the waterfall.
His mom got down on one knee and saw Dean's gash on his head.
"Oh–– oh my God. Hold on, sweetie. You'll be okay."
She got out her phone and called 911.
The ambulance came, and put Dean on a stretcher, then headed toward the nearest hospital.
Castiel ran to his mom and held onto her as tight as he could.
"It's alright, sweetheart. Dean's going to be okay. He will."
*flashback ended*
"Cas! Cas! Are you okay? Cas!" Castiel woke up, tears in his eyes, and Dean shaking him. He sat up, holding onto Dean, crying into his shoulder. "Hey, hey, Cas. It's going to be okay. Okay? Hey, you'll be okay." Dean continued shushing him. Castiel just wanted to stay in that position forever, protected by Dean from the outside world. He felt safe.
