Chapter Eight
"FᎬᎬᎢ FᏆᎡᏚᎢ. FᎬᎬᎢ FᏆᎡᏚᎢ. Ꮖ'ᏙᎬ ᎠᎾNᎬ ᎢᎻᏆᏚ ᏴᎬFᎾᎡᎬ."
The three of them slowly exited the room. Kristoff walked out first, checking the scene to make sure it was clear. Hiccup and Eugene followed behind him, carrying Shang's lifeless body. It was wrapped in a stained white sheet that they had taken from one of the beds.
"This is the worst idea ever. What the fuck is this place?" Hiccup whispered as Eugene led them down a hallway. The outside of the room was just as bad as the inside. It was crumbling in places and was covered in filth. Hiccup didn't want to think about what else was covering the walls.
Kristoff whipped out his cards. "'Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. Its population is 12 million people.'" He read.
"Kristoff, put the cards away and help." Hiccup sighed. "Elevator." He said as they rounded a corner.
"I'll get the button. I'll get the button." Kristoff said, rushing to push it. The monkey had followed them out of the room and was chittering softly. He jumped onto Shang's body then onto Eugene's shoulder.
"What the fuck is the deal with this monkey?" He asked, trying to slightly shake it off. It was starting to get on his nerves.
"That monkey gets it." Kristoff chuckled. He then slammed the button, waiting to hear some gears moving.
"Come on." Hiccup groaned. He hated that they were just standing out in the open with a dead body. He also hated that they were in Bangkok and missing Teddy. This elevator was just adding more fuel to his fire.
"Oh, fuck. No, the power's out. We gotta take the stairs." Eugene said, rushing away from the elevator. Just like Hiccup, he wanted to get rid of this body as fast as possible.
"Ah, fuck!" Hiccup shouted, needing to let his anger out somehow.

"Here it is." Hiccup panted as they reached the top of the stairs. Sweat rolled down their faces, their hair soaked. Just off to the side was an ice machine, which was exactly what they were looking for.
As they approached the box, Kristoff tightly held onto Shang's legs. "Feet first. Feet first. I've done this before." He said as Hiccup reached out, opening the box and swinging the doors to the side. Slowly, they began stuffing Shang's body inside. "All right. Careful. Careful."
All of them were panting as Kristoff shut the doors on the ice machine. Hiccup walked a few feet away and sank to the ground, leaning against the wall. Kristoff followed suit, sliding down the ice machine as Eugene locked it. He then slide to the ground, the monkey staying on his shoulder.
"Hic." He deeply breathed, looking at his feet.
"What?"
"We still have to find Teddy."
Hiccup dropped his head. "Oh, God." He painfully said. He felt terrible. He was responsible for Teddy and he lost him in Bangkok. Anything could have happened to him. Suddenly, an idea burst in his head.
He looked up, sweat dripping down his face, his green eyes wide as he stared at his friends. "The roof!"

"Teddy!" Hiccup shouted, rushing out the door on the roof.
"Teddy!" Eugene called, running off in a different direction than Hiccup. They had to find this kid. It meant everything that he was safe and back in their care. Hiccup's marriage literally rode on his kid's shoulders.
Everyone continued shouting for the college student as they searched the roof. They spread out, their voices going raw as they screamed his name. "You guys see anything?" Eugene asked.
"No." Kristoff replied, continuing to look.
"Come on. Where are you, buddy?" Eugene mumbled to himself as he walked to the railing around the roof, looking over the edge.
Hiccup slowly walked beside him, his head dropping. "He's not here." He pulled on his hair then threw his arms to the sky. "I can't believe this is happening again." He cried out.
"Okay. Look, we'll handle this. You get back there." Eugene said to Hiccup. "You tell them that Kristoff and I got drunk with him, we're still partying." Hiccup shook his head. "You gotta go get married."
"No, no." Hiccup argued. "I'm not going back without Teddy." He replied. "It's Mulan's little brother, he's lost, he's injured." He said, his voice cracking.
Eugene watched as Hiccup took a few steps closer to him. "If I fuck this up. . ." He trailed, glancing to the side then back at Eugene. "I lose everything."
Eugene nodded his head, biting on his lower lip. "Okay." He sighed, knowing he couldn't force Hiccup to do anything. Not only that, but Hiccup was right. "All right." He added, thinking of another plan. "Kristoff, check your pockets."
"What?" Kristoff asked as Eugene began digging out his pockets and throwing the items onto an electrical box.
"You know the drill." Eugene said. "Come on, there might be clues."
Hiccup pulled out his phone and other items. "Check your phones. Numbers, texts."
"Oh, that's a good idea." Eugene said, checking his phone. "I've got nothing. Fuck."
"Me neither." Hiccup sighed.
"I got a text from Shang." Kristoff said, squinting his eyes to read his phone.
"What's time?" Hiccup asked.
"Uh, 10:00 last night."
"What's it say?" Eugene asked.
"'On my way, niggas." Kristoff read. Hiccup scoffed, tossing his hand at him. "Oh, niggas. Okay." Kristoff mumbled, realizing the racial slur Shang had used. "Hip-hop."
Nobody said anything. They knew that what they had was limited. There was nothing to go off of. They didn't have any clues. Nothing from their phones or their pockets. "We are so fucked." Hiccup said, being the one to put it out there.
Beside them, the monkey climbed one of the boxes and stood up. He stared at them, chattering to get their attention. "Hey, Eugene." Kristoff smiled.
"What?"
Kristoff pointed at the monkey with a grin. "Look who's back. Hi."
Instead of acknowledging the annoying pest, Eugene grabbed Kristoff's head. "We've got to get you out of the sun. Get you a hat." He said. Kristoff was going to roast with his now bare, pale head.
"Yeah, yeah." Hiccup nodded, gathering his belongings.

"Gene, I really think we should go to the American Consulate." Hiccup said as they shuffled through the thick crowd on the busy street.
"For what?" Eugene asked. "To report a dead body we shoved into an ice machine?"
"Well, are we gonna keep walking in circles? Cause that's real productive."
"You know, I'm trying to figure this thing out. Your attitude is not helping."
"Well, I'm sorry. It's 100 degrees and we don't have a plan." Hiccup argued. He flipped around, glancing at Kristoff. "And all we've done is buy him hats and soda."
"What? It's a bag of Fanta." Kristoff defended, holding up a plastic bag filled soda with a straw hanging out of it.
"All right, what do you wanna do, Hic?" Eugene argued, pointing at him as they bumped into people on the street.
"I don't know."
"Well then stop yelling at me like it's my fault."
"It is your fault!" Hiccup shouted. A phone started ringing as Hiccup continued on. "All I wanted was a bachelor bunch."
"Shit. Shut up, it's Jack." Eugene said as he stopped walking and answered the phone. "Talk to me."
"Just got off the phone with Bangkok P.D. They got him. He's okay."
"Oh, thank God." Eugene sighed, raising his hands above his head. "Jack found him." He said to Hiccup. Hiccup grinned, lightly laughing. "What happened?" Eugene asked.
"He got arrested."
"Arrested? For what?" Eugene asked as the monkey crawled to his other shoulder.
"Disorderly conduct."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. He's okay, though. They said they'll release him to you, no questions asked. No one here has to know. He's at the, uh..." Jack trailed as he reached into his pocket to pull out the note. "Ratchawang Police Station."
"Okay. Okay. I'll call you when we get there." Eugene said before he hung up the phone. Hiccup rushed forward, a million questions in his head. "Teddy's in jail, but he's fine. We gotta get a cab."
"Okay, all right." Hiccup nodded, glad that his brother-in-law was okay. He didn't know what he'd do to himself if the kid was badly hurt or worse.
