Chapter Six
"NᎾᏔ ᏟᎪN ᏔᎬ ᎻᎪᏙᎬ ᎾᏌᎡ ᎾNᎬ FᏌᏟKᏆNᏩ ᏴᎬᎬᎡ, ᎠᎪᎠ?"

Hiccup let out a sigh as he pushed the elevator button to go up. He turned around, walking towards Mulan as they waited for the elevator to arrive. "Well, that was exactly as painful as I expected it to be." He said.

Mulan chuckled as she fixed the collar of his shirt. "Sorry." She smiled as he chuckled. She rose to her tiptoes, kissing his lips.

"Oh, rice pudding!" Eugene called out as he and Rapunzel made their way to the elevator. "What are you doing?" He asked as they stood beside the couple-to-be.

Hiccup sarcastically laughed. "Very funny, Eugene." He softly smiled.

"Be nice, Eugene. He's extra sensitive tonight." Mulan said, gently placing her hand on his chest and cuddling close to him. She felt bad that Hiccup had to go through her father's tortuous words.

"Get over it. He's your father-in-law. He's supposed to hate you." Eugene said. If he played it off, maybe Hiccup wouldn't take the abuse so badly.

But instead of laughing or saying he was right, Hiccup looked at Mulan with a soft frown.

"Come have a drink with me and the guys." Eugene offered. He wanted to make Hiccup feel better. What he went through tonight was awful and he needed to end the night on a good note.

"Ya know, I'm really exhausted. We're just gonna go upstairs and crash." He said, pulling Mulan closer to him.

"Come on, I just spoke with the manager. He's gonna let us have a bonfire on the beach." Eugene persisted. He really wanted Hiccup to come out and enjoy one of his last few nights as a bachelor. He earned it after all.

"That sounds fun." Mulan said. She wanted Hiccup to forget about her father for at least an hour. Going out with his friends would be a good thing for him.

Hiccup pulled back his lips and let out a painful groan. "Nah. I'm good." He was not going to risk anything tonight. Even if it was just a beach bonfire.

"He's tired." Rapunzel said, looking up at Eugene.

"Hic." Mulan said, looking up into his green eyes. "One drink with your friends. They came all this way."

"I just wanna hang out with you."

"Oh, come on, just go and do me a favor: Take Teddy with you." Mulan said as she rubbed her hands on his shoulder while his hands rested on her hips. She glanced over to the side, seeing Teddy typing on his laptop. "He never gets to have any fun."

"That is a great idea. Bring the kid." Eugene said. He didn't care what it took to get Hiccup to come along. If it meant taking Teddy, Eugene was down for it.

"All right. One drink." Hiccup agreed with a smile.

"Perfect." Mulan said.

"See?" Eugene said, looking at Rapunzel.

"You win." She sighed, kissing his lips. The elevator arrived, letting out a soft ding as the doors opened.

"See you later." Hiccup said as Mulan and Rapunzel walked towards the doors.

"Have fun." Mulan smiled.

"Got your key?" Rapunzel asked as she stepped into the elevator.

"Uh, yup. Got it right here." Eugene said as the girls turned around.

"I'll see you in 20 minutes." Hiccup said as the doors began to close.

"I love you." Mulan mouthed before the doors shut.

"My Uncle Roger said that he once saw a albino polar bear." Kristoff said as they gathered around the campfire. It was the perfect night for a bonfire on the beach. It wasn't too hot or too cold. The wind was low and the waves were quiet.

"Really?" Hiccup asked, looking at him. "Polar bears are white. How would he know if it's an albino?"

Kristoff paused. He seemed to be running the idea through his mind as he stared into the orange flames. "This one was black." He said, looking back at Hiccup.

Hiccup knew he should drop the subject, but he couldn't resist. He tried to keep a smile off his face as he asked another question. "Did you ever think maybe it was just a black bear?"

Kristoff stared into the flames again, debating about how to answer that one. He sighed, shrugging his shoulders and glancing down. "Whatevs."

"Okay. Here we go." Eugene said, walking back to the group.

"All right." Jack smiled, seeing the items Eugene had brought along.

"American beer." Eugene grinned, offering one to Jack.

"Let's do it." Jack said, gladly taking a bottle.

Eugene walked over to Hiccup giving him a bottle. Hiccup slightly resisted at first. "Sealed bottles." Eugene assured, placing it in Hiccup's hand.

"Thank you. All right." Hiccup said, looking at the bottle. He gave a soft sigh of relief, seeing that it was American and that it was sealed.

"Um, I'm not really old enough to drink." Teddy said as Eugene dropped the bottle into the kid's hands.

"Yeah, it's illegal. Be a shame if somebody reported you." Kristoff said, slightly glaring at Teddy.

Hiccup chuckled, popping open his drink. "Nobody's reporting anybody." He smiled, shaking his head at Kristoff. He handed the bottle opener to Teddy. "It's fine, Teddy. Have a little fun."

Teddy cautiously took the bottle opener. One drink couldn't hurt him.

"Careful." Kristoff said as Eugene sat down beside him.

"What?" Eugene asked, turning around before he sat down. "Oh." He said, pausing and moving the item out of the way. He picked it up, holding it in the air as he sat down. "What is this? Roasting marshmallows? Nice touch."

"That was Kristoff's idea." Jack said, looking at the blonde.

"Oh. Good thinking, Kristoff." Eugene nodded, tossing the bag over to Kristoff. He then leaned back and opened his drink. "You know, I gotta hand it to you, Hic. This place is paradise."

"Not bad, right?"

Eugene smiled, shaking his head. "And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually jealous of you. I mean, Mulan is an angel." Eugene confessed. Mulan really was perfect for Hiccup. She knew exactly how to calm him down. She was great at handling awkward situations that he always seemed to get stuck in. Not to mention, she was attractive and funny.

"Yeah, she really is amazing." Jack softly agreed. He was proud of Hiccup. He had broken up with Astrid and finally found the girl that was right for him. Jack didn't have to pretend to be happy for Hiccup's wedding. He truly was happy for the couple.

"Wow. You guys are sweet." Hiccup smiled.

"Not big breasts on her, but still, solid rack for an Asian." Eugene teased, slightly smirking at Hiccup, who nodded his head. Eugene looked over. "Sorry, Teddy, but it's true."

"That's okay." Teddy awkwardly chuckled.

"That is just wildly inappropriate. And yet I'm really glad you're here." Hiccup said to Eugene. He looked around. "All you guys." He turned and specifically looked at the blonde of the group. "Even you, Kristoff."

Kristoff smiled and looked up.

"It means a lot that you made the trip. Thank you." Hiccup smiled, looking at everyone around the fire.

"Wouldn't miss it, buddy." Jack said.

"Great." Eugene nodded. He lifted up his drink. "Now can we have our one fucking beer, Dad?" He teased with a smile.

"Mm-hm." Hiccup nodded.

"All right. Toast." Eugene said, rising to his feet. "Come on, stand up, guys." Everyone else followed suit, standing up around the fire. "Come over here, Kristoff."

Everyone gathered in close, all eyes on Eugene. "To Mulan and Hic." He said. He raised his beer high. "You did it, buddy." He grinned.

"You sure did." Jack smiled, hitting his with Eugene's.

Everyone hit their bottles together above their heads. "Cheers."
