Chapter Sixteen
"ᎢᎪ-ᎠᎪ."

The destroyed car chugged its way through the desert. The sun was now in the sky and they parked just across from the black SUV. They were totally alone. Anything could happen.

"Now what?" Eugene asked. Nobody moved from either car.

"Give him the signal." Kristoff said, leaning forward.

"What signal?" Eugene asked.

"Flash your lights. Let him know it's on."

"What's on?"

"The deal."

"Of course it's on. We just drove 30 miles into the desert. He knows it's on."

"Eugene, just do something." Hiccup said, fear slightly present in his tone. This whole thing was giving him anxiety. What if they refused to give Jack back? What if they killed Jack? What if they killed all of them and they were left to rot in the desert alone?

Eugene glanced at him. He was really getting worked up. "Fine." He agreed, staring that the black SUV. He flashed his lights, like Kristoff had said earlier.

Immediately, people got out of the SUV.

"See?" Kristoff smiled. Good thing he watched a lot of crime shows.

"All right. Let's go." Eugene said, opening his door. Hiccup crawled through the window since his door was smashed in. Kristoff crawled out his window as well, but landed on his face.

Shang laughed, pointing. "Funny fat guy fall on face."

"You okay?" Hiccup asked, gently touching Kristoff once he was on his feet. He brushed off the dirt as Eugene began speaking.

"Alright, we got the money. Eighty grand. Cash."

"Throw it over." Shang demanded, waving his arm. "Then I give you Jack."

"Um, I'm sorry." Hiccup interrupted. There was no way he was taking that chance. "First of all, good morning. And we didn't catch your name last night."

"Mr. Shang. Li Shang." He replied.

"Mr. Shang, it is a pleasure. My name is Hic." He introduced. Eugene shot him a look. What the hell? "And we would very much appreciate an opportunity to see Jack before we give you the money, just to verify that he's okay. If that's-- If that's cool."

"Of course, Hic. That is cool." Shang agreed, taking off his shades. Shang clapped his hands then shouted in a foreign language. Someone opened the car and pulled out Jack. He muffled something and was pushed forward, a bag still on his head.

"Oh, thank God. Okay." Hiccup sighed in relief.

"See, he fine." Shang said. "Now, give me money. Or I shoot him and I shoot all you motherfuckers. And then we take it. Your choice, bitches."

"Give him the money, Hic." Eugene said.

"Okay."

Hiccup threw the bag and Shang screamed, jumping away. The body guard reached out and grabbed it then counted the money. "It's all there."

"Let him go." Shang said.

Slowly, one of the men walked Jack forward.

Eugene softly smiled. "All right, take it easy. Take it easy."

"Ta-da." Shang said as the bag was pulled off, revealing Jack.

But it wasn't their Jack.

Hiccup screamed, backing away.

"Is this some kind of joke? Who the hell is this?" Eugene demanded, narrowing his brown eyes. The man looked nothing like Jack. For one, this man had much darker skin than Jack. His hair was buzzed short and his eyes were a dark brown. This guy and Jack were nothing similar besides their stature.

"That is not Jack." Hiccup declared, pointing at the man they just saved. Where was their Jack? Had they really went through all this work to get someone they didn't know?

"What you talking about, Willis? That him." Shang scoffed.

"No, I'm sorry, Mr. Shang. That's not our friend. He-- That's--" Hiccup stuttered as the man begged at them with his eyes to take him.

"The Jack we're looking for is a white." Kristoff called out, bending around Hiccup to see Shang.

A body guard ripped off the duck tape on other Jack's face. He screamed and shook his head. "I told you you had the wrong guy, little boy." He said to Shang. He faced forward, circling his shoulders. "Damn, Kristoff, what the fuck you got me into?"

"You know him?" Eugene exclaimed. Why did Kristoff know this guy?

"Yeah, this is the guy that sold me bad drugs. How you doing?" Kristoff asked, softly smiling, clearly not seeing the issue anymore.

"I didn't sell you no bad drugs."

"Wait." Hiccup cut in, realizing how the guy was connected to them. "He sold you the Ru--the Ruphylin?"

"Ruphylin?" He scoffed. "I sold you the Ru--? What?"

"Who gives a shit?!" Eugene shouted, his voice a higher octave. "Where is Jack?"

"I am Jack."

"Your name's Jack?" Kristoff asked.

"Yes, I'm Jack."

Kristoff lightly laughed. "His name's Jack too. Ha. Classic mix-up."

Shang fake yawned then began to walk away. "Come on." He called to his men.

"Hey, Shang." Eugene called out, getting his attention. "You gave us the wrong Jack."

"Not my problem."

"No, fuck that shit!" Eugene threatened, jumping forward like he was about to punch Shang. "Now, you give us our 80 grand back and take him back with you!"

"Aw, come on, man. I'll be your Jack." Other Jack pleaded.

"Oh, yeah. Okay. Oh, I take him back." Shang said, fake pouting. He then stood straighter, smirking at Eugene. "Right after you suck on these little Chinese nuts."

"Aw, that's nasty." Other Jack said, shaking his head in disgust.

"Mm. How that sound?" Shang taunted, knowing he had the upper hand. There was nothing they could do to make him give back their money or take other Jack. "So long, gay boys." He said, hopping into the SUV.

"Wait a second." Eugene said. They couldn't just leave like that. Shang had to give them their Jack back. Otherwise, what was the point? They had wasted their entire night getting 80 grand for some idiot he didn't want when they could have been spending their night trying to find Jack.

"He's a nasty little motherfucker." Other Jack said, watching the car began to drive away.

"Hey, did you ever get any ecstasy?" Kristoff asked, looking at other Jack.

"No, I ain't got no fucking ecstasy." Other Jack scoffed, looking at the blonde.

Pissed off, Eugene began to storm away. His fists were clenched tight, turning a pale white. His face began turning a beet red as he kicked at the dirt. "Goddamn it!" He screamed as loud as he could.

"Gosh darn it!" Kristoff mimicked.

"Shit!" Eugene shouted, kicking more dirt.

"Shoot!" Kristoff repeated like a child, copying Eugene.

How were they going to find the real Jack now? The wedding was in a few hours and they had no clue where their friend could be. They were left with some lame excuse of a Jack and were broke. They were fucked.
