The Hands That Hurt Us- Part 4

Jungkook gave Namjoon the vocals he needed, he did an okay job. Namjoon could tell he was a bit off, so he told him they'd record more another time. Jungkook rested his head on Namjoon's shoulder and watched him do stuff on his computer for a bit before getting up and making his way to the couch in the back of Namjoon's studio and laying down, pulling a blanket over himself.

Namjoon turned to him. "If you're going to nap you might want to nap in your own studio, I might be calling Hobi and Yoongi in to record some verses so it'll be loud."

"That's okay, I don't mind. I mean only if you don't mind if I stay."

"Of course not, Kook."

Jungkook smiled and closed his eyes, quickly falling into a nap.

Hobi and Yoongi made their way into Namjoon's studio a short time later.

"Cute," Hobi chuckled while pointing to Jungkook. He lifted Jungkooks feet and sat on the couch, draping the maknae's legs back over his lap.

Yoongi grabbed the extra chair and rolled his way next to Jungkook's head and started playing with his hair while he slept. "Maybe we should just add nap time to our schedules," Yoongi joked.

"I don't think he's feeling all that good. He seems a little off today," Namjoon told his hyung.

Yoongi took his hand and felt Jungkook's forehead. "He doesnt feel feverish or anything."

"Well thats good. He's pretty tired though and I need him to re record his vocals at some point."

"Well he's probably tired from the hospital last night, and I'm pretty sure his body uses energy to heal the wrist too." Hobi caressed Jungkooks wrist brace.

The maknae slightly opened his eyes and looked at Hobi, who gave him a big smile. He smiled back before letting his eyes close shut again and falling back to sleep. The three rappers got to work recording vocals at the computer and before they knew it a few hours had gone by. It was late afternoon and they had all finally finished their schedules for today.

Hobi woke Jungkook up so they could all leave together, but had to help Jungkook walk because he kept stumbling a little bit. Jungkook claimed he just wasnt fully awake and really tired, he wouldn't dare tell his hyungs it was actually because he now had an injured foot. They met up with the others and made their way home. It was still pretty early so Yoongi and Jin decided to not start making dinner quite yet, they had time to hang out for a little first.

Yoongi plopped down on the couch and flipped on the TV, Jungkook went and changed his socks then laid down on the couch next to him and used his hyungs thigh as his pillow. Usually Yoongi would brush someone away if they tried doing that but he felt bad knowing his maknae wasn't feeling that great so he let it slide. Namjoon and Jimin ran in out of nowhere laughing, with Namjoon chasing Jimin.

"Aishhh do you have to do that in here? I'm watching TV here!" Yoongi scolded as Namjoon and Jimin started to playfully wrestle on the floor right in front of the couch.

Jungkook watched and laughed, until Namjoon had Jimin pinned to the floor. His smile turned to a frown. They all play wrestled a countless number of times, he didn't know why suddenly seeing his two hyungs wrestle would cause anxiety to stir in him.

"Hyung you're going to hurt him," Jungkook spoke up while still laying on Yoongi's lap.

"When have I ever hurt him wrestling?" Namjoon asked as Jimin was laughing trying to get out of the rappers grip. Sure Namjoon had a reputation of breaking practically everything he touched, but he'd never hurt one of them.

"I know but you're bigger than him isn't that a little unfair?" Jungkook asked.

Jimin looked up at Namjoon still laughing. "Yeah hyung you have an unfair advantage!" He smiled.

Namjoon gave Jungkook a questioning look. "It's just childs play Kookie you know I wouldnt hurt him."

When he least expected it Jimin attacked Namjoon with tickles and they both rolled around the floor laughing. Yoongi looked down at Jungkook also a bit curious why the younger was seemingly overly concerned. Its not like those two hadn't wrestled eachother a million times.

"Are you okay, Jungkook?" Yoongi asked looking down at him.

"Mhm." Jungkook avoided eye contact with his hyung.

To his ease, the two had stopped wrestling after Namjoon surrendered because of being tickled. The two departed and now it was just Yoongi and Jungkook in the living room. The rest of the members were occupying themselves elsewhere doing who knows what. There was a movie playing on TV about a family who had moved in to some haunted house and the dad was going crazy and started turning violent. Seeing the dads anger towards his kids was hitting a little too close to home for Jungkook considering everything he was dealing with.

"Hyung can I ask you something?" Jungkook asked Yoongi, looking up at him.

"Of course."

"Why do people do bad things?"

"What do you mean by bad things? Like rob people and stuff?"

"I guess, or hurt other people."

"Usually because of their own issues."

This sparked Jungkook's curiosity. "What do you mean by that?"

"I mean when people do bad things to someone it's because they're dealing with their own problems. For example someone may rob someone because they're in financial trouble and need money. They'll hurt other people because they don't know how to deal with their own anger or problems so they take it out on someone else."

"Is that why bad things can happen to good people, because it's the bad people with the problems? Or do good people still deserve to get hurt too?"

Yoongi raised his eyebrow, he didn't know why Jungkook suddenly had these really deep questions out of nowhere. Usually the depth of Jungkook's questions involved him asking what's for dinner.

"I don't think good people deserve to get hurt. I guess that's just bad luck."

Jungkook thought for a moment, "Would you consider me a good person?"

"Of course I would, why?" Yoongi ruffled Jungkook's hair.

"I'm just wondering. So you don't think I would deserve to get hurt?"

"No not at all," Yoongi paused. "Kook-ah why are you asking this stuff though? Is someone saying they're going to hurt you? Is it people online? Because if it is you tell hyung and I'll march right down to the compa-"

"No, no," Jungkook cut him off, "Everything is fine. I was just wondering." Manager Shik was turning Jungkook into a liar and he hated it.

"Oh, okay. Well if someone ever did say something like that to you , you tell hyung."

"Don't worry, I will." Jungkook's heart sank. Another day, another lie straight to his hyungs face. He turned his gaze back to the TV. Yoongi looked down at him, frowning. He wondered why his maknae was asking these questions, but he knew if someone really did say they'd hurt him, he'd say something about it. Yoongi knew Jungkook wasn't a liar.

He played with Jungkooks hair and the youngest fell asleep, which also concerned Yoongi because the kid seemed to do nothing but sleep lately. Maybe he actually was getting sick? Something on Jungkooks chest caught the rappers eye. He stared at it a moment, and curiously pulled the collar of his maknae's shirt down to reveal a trail of faint bruises. When the hell did that happen? As if on que, Jin strolled into the living room.

"Hyung, did Jungkook say anything about hurting his chest to you?" The rapper asked his only hyung.

"No, why?"

"Look at this." Yoongi gestured for Jin to come and showed him the bruises.

"Jeez, what the hell?" Jin gasped.

Yoongi was too overprotective to sit around and wait for an answer, so he shook his maknae awake. "Hey, quick question."

"Hmm?" Jungkook stirred without opening his eyes.

"Why do you have bruises on your chest? What happened?"

Jungkooks eyes shot open to reveal both Jin and Yoongi staring at him waiting for an answer. If you want the truth, manager Shik shoved me to the ground and kicked the shit out of me.

"I fell."

"Again? When?" Jin asked concerned. Why did his youngest fall so much lately?

"N-no. It happened the same night at the gym. When I fell and hurt my wrist I hurt my chest too."

"Oh," Jin said. "How did you fall anyway? You never told me how, just that you did."

Jungkook had to think of a quick lie. "I fell down the stairs."

Yoongi and Jin both made sour faces, knowing that had to have hurt.

Jin paused for a moment. "You hurt your chest falling down stairs and you didnt tell me? We were at the hospital, you should have mentioned that. What if you had broken a rib or something? They should have x rayed you. I told you to tell me when you get hurt." Jin had a bit of irritation in his voice. He knows it was too late now but still, his maknae should have told him.

"I did tell you. We were at the hospital, weren't we?"

"No you didnt Jungkook. I only found out about your wrist because of Tae and you didnt mention this," he pointed to his maknae's chest. Jungkook could hear the irritation in his hyungs voice and it made his heart hurt. He hated disappointing any of his hyungs, ever. And he could tell his Jin hyung sounded disappointed. He fought back tears as he whispered a faint, "I'm sorry."

Jin and Yoongi both frowned. There wasn't much left to be had of the conversation, really. It's not like his hyungs were going to scold him over injuring himself on accident. However they could both see he had turned visibly upset by the situation, which really tugged at Jins heart strings.

"Hey, it's okay, Jungkook-ah. We're only annoying about it because we care. Nobody is mad at you," Jin stroked his hair.

Jungkook wanted to reassure his hyung with a smile but couldn't find even the fake emotions to do it. He got up and went into the kitchen, meeting Taehyung at the cabinet who had also just strolled in. Jungkook went to grab a large glass cup, that belonged to Jin, out of the cupboard, when suddenly out of nowhere a giant boom of thunder exploded right outside the window.

Without even thinking Jungkook screamed and accidentally smashed the cup to the floor, sending shards of glass halfway across the entire kitchen. Both him and Taehyung were trapped in place together by all the glass surrounding them. All that could be heard next was the intense rain storm that had strolled in smacking the roof.

"Ugh, since when are you afraid of thunder?" Taehyung looked at him with concerned eyes. Jungkook wasn't afraid of anything, quite literally. Especially not thunder.

Jungkook stood next to Taehyung frozen, staring at the glass shards on the floor not saying a word. All the members had ran into the kitchen after hearing the maknae scream and something shatter. "Whats going on?" Jimin asked as he walked towards the kitchen.

Hobi put his arm out to stop him. "Careful, glass." He pointed to the the floor.

Jin pointed at Taehyung and Jungkook, who still hadn't looked up. "Maknae dropped a cup. Neither of you two move a muscle until this is cleaned up. The last thing we need is glass in your feet."

Namjoon ran to grab some brooms and a lightweight vacuum cleaner. While he was gone, hyungs noticed Jungkook let out an audible whimper.

"Kook? Did you get glass in your foot?" Jin asked.

"I'm sorry," was all Jungkook said as tears poured out of his eyes and he kept his gaze low.

"What?" Jin didnt think he heard him correctly.

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry hyung." He started to hyperventilate and turned to Taehyung. "I'm sorry Taehyungie. D-did I hurt your foot?" Taehyung saw the tears roll down Jungkook's face.

"No, I'm fine." Taehyung gently grabbed Jungkook's upper arm. "It's okay. Accidents happen."

Jungkook started sobbing where he stood. He kept replaying manager Shik beating his foot with that stick, and how he'd gone around slamming everything in the room with the stick too . The thunder resembled those same banging noises. He never meant to break his hyungs cup, and he never ever meant to almost hurt Taehyung too. He felt so guilty.

Taehyung started rubbing his maknae's back and looked to his hyungs with scared eyes, he didnt know why the boy was so upset over it and he didnt know what to say or do.

"I'm...I'm really sorry Jin hyung. I'm sorry I broke it." Jungkook was having trouble breathing. Jin wanted to hug him so badly but the two were still trapped by the glass because Namjoon hadnt returned yet.

"It was just a cup," Hobi chimed in, frowning.

"Yeah bunny, we literally have a million other cups. Don't cry, it scares hyung," Jimin said.

"But it was hyungs cup," Jungkook cried.

"Ahhh kookie, stop the tears! Like Hobi said it was just a cup. The thing was probably like 5$. And Jiminie is right we have a million cups. Really, it's okay bunny." Jin was trying to be reassuring.

"Why is he crying? Did he step in glass?" Namjoon asked as he finally ran in with the brooms and vacuum.

"He's sad he broke the cup," Taehyung told him. He now had one arm wrapped around Jungkook.

"Aww, it was just a cup. No need to be so upset," the rapper also reassured.

"That's what I said," Hobi replied.

They all helped clean the glass up and as soon as he had the chance Jin gripped Jungkook tightly in his arms and held him for a long time, planting small kisses on his head. Jungkook couldn't understand why or how his hyungs managed to forgive every single thing he did. Big or small, it was impossible for them to be angry with him. He dreamed of a world where his manager could have been the same way, but he knew that was just a dream.

"Well now that the kitchen is walkable we should probably make dinner and then head to bed early. We have an early schedule tomorrow and we have part of our video shoot, which manager Shik said he wants to come and monitor for a little bit," Namjoon informed everyone.

Jungkook gulped and felt shivers through his spine. He knew tomorrow would be a new day...

But the same old bullshit.
